  1. Augusta, with their first win of the year (1-10), will play in the 39th District Championship and clinch a spot in the 10th Region Tournament.
  2. As far as people I have heard say "Well they'll get to have a meal at McDonald's". Sounds like a glorified participation trophy to me. If they want McDonald's so badly, St. Patrick has a short drive up the hill while Augusta can be there in 20 minutes.
  3. They'll lose to St. Patrick in first round, which will get destroyed by Bracken/Mason then get destroyed by Campbell/Harrison/Bourbon. There are other schools around the state who have chosen to not play in postseason baseball and softball. Augusta and St. Patrick should have followed their lead as well.
  4. Hopefully the 9th Region Championship.
  5. Jackson Boggs started for Lafayette and Tristan Downing started for Greenup. Both teams had opportunities to score but neither broke through until the 4th when Lafayette was able to get a run in. They could have done more damage but Greenup turned one of the craziest double plays you'll ever see. Hopefully someone on Facebook or Twitter will or has posted it. Up to this point, Boggs still had a no-hitter but in the fifth, the wheels fell off a bit for Lafayette. Greenup was able to tie the game at 1 on a squeeze bunt by Brody Shoupe then Gage Hughes comes to the plate and drills a three run homer to right to make it 4-1 and that's how it ended. Greenup was able to answer the bell against a very game Lafayette squad. They play Madison Central and East Jessamine in back to back games at Lafayette (1:30 and 4).
  6. Greenup County moves to 32-0 in their first game of the Fayette County Invitational.
  7. Some schools need to follow the lead of Riverside.
  8. There's a post on the basketball page discussing this very topic. The one where Bracken has canceled all away games with Augusta and St.Pat's. Their reasoning was the seeding debate and the baseball/softball draw pushed them over the edge.
  9. The former Bishop Brossart star will be attending the college, per his Twitter page.
  10. Because I've seen the KHSAA schedule jacked up many times but now that Fern Creek was dropped, I would say they'll play Madison Central for sure.
  11. They originally had Fern Creek, East Jessamine and Lafayette as the original lineup then earlier in the week, Madison Central was added and they just removed Fern Creek off of their schedule. Madison Central definitely poses a threat and I commented before they were confirmed to be on Greenup's schedule.
  12. There has to be somebody that can post the full schedule for the Fayette County Invitational. I would like to attend several games at several sites but not sure because they keep removing and adding teams.
  13. They've removed Fern Creek then. It had Fern Creek, East and Lafayette originally. Then they added Madison Central a few days ago and must have just removed Fern Creek in the last few hours.
  14. I still need clear confirmation that they're playing against Madison Central. They were just added to the schedule the other day so I'm not sure if it's legit or if they were added in error. I was told that Greenup plays Fern Creek, East Jessamine and Lafayette this weekend.
  15. Lafayette would probably be their most difficult challenge in Lexington but I see them getting by it.
  16. Are there any local tournaments? Maybe there are openings.
  17. In the district's that draw, yes it does. Why are the smallest schools the ones who vote against seeding? This year's 39th baseball and softball drawings are a joke. Teams that play so little of games should automatically be 3 and 4 seed. They're basically saying a season of hard work means nothing while it allows teams that play a game every two or three weeks a chance to play in regionals. I've never supported blind draw and never will.
  18. Looks like the A schools are getting coddled twice. For one, they get their own tournament in the middle of the season and in postseason, there are people who think we should draw to give small schools a chance to go to Regionals. Why not just split classes and they can have the Class A Tournament at the end of the year?
  19. I just came across this via Twitter that he is moving to Northern Kentucky.
