'Endless resources' :lol2:
If only, then we'd have gotten air-conditioning before the turn of the millennium.
Also, I have a hard time believing we've got 22 coaches. That would make the sideline even more crowded than it already is.
If T doesn't have 22 on their staff I bet it's not far from it. May not be "paid" but I'd like to see the actual number! Not that it matters. Just like to know! I know 1A schools with a DZ and 4A schools with 15-16. Only stands to reason! Still does not take away from how powerful this program is. It's impressive non the less.

There is never a lot of point in discussing who started it. I'll just say that I am not happy with the way our kids handled it. With all of the talk of bad actions, let me point out a good one. After the game, Spencer Blackburn went over to speak to Wood. Nice job.
That obviously speaks volumes of that kids character! Great job by BOTH QB's!

Congrats Rocks on #24 & the schools 600th win!! Beatty now has won the most state titles of any coach in the history of KY HS football with 12. Pretty amazing when you think he took over at Trinity in 2000.
That is true but situations like this one makes it tough when talking coach talk. Obviously Beatty is a solid coach! Just say'n! It's a program that can get your record up fairly easy with. Just seems more impressive when you realize where like Haywood has been coaching! A Small remote area with much less resources. Im not knocking a BIG school like T. I understand every school has to play the hand your dealt just say'n! Similar with Beechwood! Located where they are is a great luxury just like T and any coach would love to have the benefit of Plenty to choose from! After 3 state titles they should swap HC positions around! You may go from Trinity to Phelps or from Ashland to BG! Lol. THAT would make it a bit more interesting! lol

I have a feeling it was done for a reason. The end of the game got very heated, and it was probably a good decision to get them off the field ASAP before anything else happened.
I agree. Hate to see it but probably a smart decision taking in account the emotions that were displayed between the 2! Only thing worse than walking off would been an incident midfield and no doubt that was a legit concern! Great Season by Lafayette though!
-
Sure Was a tough game penalty wise! REALLY hope the injury that Walker Woods Sustained is one that he recovers from QUICKLY! He's a GREAT player! Trinity extremely impressive! Hated to see Lafayette chose NOT to shake hands at the end and Sounded like Taylor received some feedback afterwards! Not good! Anyway congrats to Trinity on their 24th State Title! Unbelievable!

PAT good. 7-0. Hazards D is gonna have to rely on their Big Hits on BW receivers. Beechies are hard to cover!
-
TD CS! 6-0. Man he's impossible to stop!
-
The Train CS plowing through on that gain! Hes down inside the 10!!!
-
Big completion BW
-
Good Defensive stand by BW
-
Hopefully Burch is ok! That hit was Vicious!

Game day! How's the weather looking and anyone there know how big the attendance will be?
All clear sky's and 39 degrees at kick off.
-
Thought I heard that hazard would be on the home side this year.
I know Pikeville was on the Home side last year so should be BW this year!
-
Good points! I hadn't really thought about that Russellville comment you made, but you are right.
All due respect to Hazard, they do not look as good as Pikeville was last year. Pugh was better than Smith. Pikeville also had a very good FB in Charles. Finally, Pikeville's passing game was killer last year. Battaille was excellent and there were some top notch receivers. I also see Pikeville's defense last year as better than this Hazard defense.
That doesn't mean Hazard can't beat Beechwood. Beechwood only has 4 players on this team that started in last year's title game. You can't really look to that game last year for any guidance on what to expect this year. Two very different Beechwood teams and group of players.
The wild card in this game is Hazard WR Jason Johnson. He is a big target with good hands. He can provide the big plays and balance the grinding running of Smith. He will have some battles worth watching when covered by Beechwood CB Elijah McKinney.
True. Russellville was stronger this year and BW handled them! Johnson for Hazard will be the X factor. Kid is just so big and if it's close he will Just TAKE IT from virtually every defender he faces. Paintsvilles D Backs are Extremely athletic and single coverage on Johnson did Not work! He, as a receiver impressed me this year as much as Pugh did as a RB last year! BW will have BIG plays! Hazard's coaching staff WILL no doubt be working double time to answer but they have proven to be VERY capable. Not implying coach Rash isn't. Obviously coaching is NOT a week point for BW either!

I could be wrong but I thought Beechwood had a few starting OL out plus their RB who also played LB. I think Beechwood had their starting FB out as well. I'm not taking anything away from Pikeville they were a great team who played better that night.
Let me explain what I meant. Power doesn't mean anything on the turf in my opinion. Speed does matter on the turf if the weather is nice. I'm sure Hazard has speed as well but not as much as Beechwood does. This will be a great game.
I know Pikeville and Hazard both have turf. Who else in the Mountains has turf?
Most High Schools in the east anymore. Paintsville is one of the few that still plays on grass. Raceland is still on a grass field. Ashland, Pikeville, Sheldon Clark, Magoffin, Belfry, Hazard, Johnson Central, Prestonsburg. More Turf than grass now. Probably more turf fields in the eastern part of the state than western.
-
I'm not taking anything away from Pikeville last year because they won but Beechwood had a lot of injuries to their starters last year. It would have probably been a different outcome had they had played.
You act like Beechwood is playing Alabama haha haha
If they were playing in Mud I would say yes Hazard will win but they are playing on Turf not grass.
Alabama? Obviously Hazard can be beat. Just not likely by BW at this point. That's all I'm saying. Seems if you Dare to point out that BW is obviously outmatched in this final, is just absurd! As for the mud thing? Was that an attempt to take a stab at Hazard? Just FYI since you obviously haven't followed BOTH teams, Hazard has one of the nicest Turf fields you'll find so not sure how there is an edge to BW since they both play on turf ALL year! 2015 Pikeville was an EXTREMELY strong 1A team! Just letting you know this Hazard team IS Stronger! BW is obviously down from last year being much younger. I'm not saying BW is a bad team! Not even a little! Their a Really Good 1A Team, So don't get me wrong! Just don't believe that ONLY having Blazing Speed, is gonna be enough in Fridays Game!
-
"Summerset" was a beast though, right?
I could care less who wins, but you are laughable.
never said "beast". Actually never said Summerset but yea I remember BW just Blowing out Summerset this year now that you mention it! They were WAY below your standards! Hazard did play Paintsville and won convincingly! You know the number 1 ranked team in 1A Virtually ALL season! Another team they played you Beechies may remember Pikeville! Seems BW had a run in with that Eastern KY team last year about this time! Yea this one will be Pretty much the same outcome! Hey good luck though!

dude you're just messing around. This is a forum for people who are interested about matchups and what people that have seen them play think about it. No need for nonsense. just sit back and read posts if this is all you have to offer.
Oh ok. My bad. Thought it was a football forum to discuss your thoughts between the 2 teams! I do apologize if I offended you!
Hazard 35
Beechwood 21

very true. Also Holy Cross Covington this year was quite the team. I definitely believe BW has played a harder schedule and proven themselves through it. That win against Holy Cross has bigger weight than any hazard has to offer.
Lol BW played who? Granted Cov Cath was about the strongest BW played but was subpar at best! NKY has had a very down year! No doubt BW had the easiest Playoff route by far!
-
WEAR OUT--BLOWOUT. PRETTY MUCH THE SAME THING, isn't it? You say so much but yet so little I'm not sure that you even know what you're saying.
Anyway! Good luck to both teams on an injury free State Final! Bring the 4A title home Eagles!!
-
I am not sure if Hazard is going to win in 2016, but looking at their roster I feel very confident that they will be the team to beat in 2017.
:scared:
I had no clue how loaded the Bulldogs were going to be next season...
Let's not talk about that ATL! lol
-
All I know is there will be a game on Sunday afternoon at 3:45 between FS and JC and it should be a good game. You are the one calling it a blowout before they even play the game..
Haven't predicted a blowout! Just said JC will control the tempo in this one! That's all!
-
Well young man that is why they play the game now isn't it. If size always mattered we wouldn't have won all the State Titles we have won.
Well son, This is the smallest BW has been on quite awhile! They've typically had some big seniors to help! Just not this year! Maybe you've been tracking a different team? Anyway good luck to both! It's gonna be a hard fought game to say the least!

I would have to agree with that! ^ Them being in the area they are and who they are, players come to them. Just like UK basketball. Kids want to go where they will win! T defiantly offers that! If I was 17 living in that location I would!
