Mattis and company have a plan. Can Tillerson keep Putin happy is the question.
Did Russian media cover gas attacks?
You can bet that Putin is not "happy" about Trump's actions. Putin wants no part of escalating this situation. Assad is a madman, Putin would do well to distance himself in a hurry.
-
President decided to work from home. So much for the vacation theory.
-
Ok Assad, you're move.

This is obviously a strategic attack by the U.S. Not designed for mass casualty. A very strong message to those who haven't been playing well with others.
-
President Trump is not only sending a message to Syria, this is a warning to a number of bad actors.

Poll: Majority of Americans believe the media favors one political party, is ‘often inaccurate’ – TheBlaze
Interesting that even 43% of Democrats agree the media favors them.
The other 57% are in denial.

I consider myself a huge U.K. Fan. I'm also a Cubs fan and a Bears fan. I grew up in the Chicago area. Trust me, the Kentucky fans are no worse than Cubs or Bears fans. When SNL starts doing a UK skit, we'll talk!

You think he is going to nail Otis or Ernest T?
Possibly. But I would rather he went after an aunt Bee type. Those are the scary ones.

Who knows, Barney may even be snooping around BGP.
Yep. Barney always gets his man.
-
Alright, alright, alright. Sounds like Barney is on the job!

In my concealed carry class, the self defense portion was taught by a police officer and he made the comment, "If you get into a self defense fight and you can cheat, then cheat. Don't let it become a fair fight."
I assumed any logical person would feel this way but questioned that after this video. Unfortunately I bet a lot of people agree with him.
Any logical person would agree with you.

Temptations "I wish it rain"
Hmm hmm
Sunshine, blue skies, please go away
A girl has found another and gone away
With her went my future, my life is filled with gloom
So day after day I stay locked up in my room
I know to you, it might sound strange
But I wish it would rain, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
'Cause so badly I wanna go outside (such a lovely day)
But everyone knows that a man ain't supposed to cry
Listen, I gotta cry 'cause crying eases the pain, oh yeah
People this hurt I feel inside
Words could never explain,
I just wish it would rain, oh let it rain, rain, rain, rain, ooo baby
Let it rain, oh yeah, let it rain
Day in day out my tear-stained face
Pressed against the window pane
My eyes search the skies desperately for rain
'Cause rain drops will hide my tear drops
And no one will ever know that I'm crying
Crying when I go outside
To the world outside my tears
I refuse to explain, ooo I wish it would rain, ooh, baby
Let it rain, let it rain
I need rain to disguise the tears in my eyes
Oh, let it rain
Oh yeah, yeah, listen
I'm a man and I got my pride
'Til it rains I'm gonna stay inside, let it rain
One of my favorite songs. This song was written by Motown staff writer Rodger Penzabene after he found out that his wife had been cheating. Penzabene committed suicide shortly thereafter on New Years Eve.

Ahhh Grasshopper...
Never assume because a man has no eyes that he cannot see.
-
First rule of self defense, avoid a fight at all costs, especially a fair fight.

I could swear I read in the C-J story this morning that it was 80 stitches, but really, is there that much difference between 80 and 120? It's like the difference between $8 million and $12 million.
What I did think was very cool is that the shark let go of her after she had the good sense to repeatedly punch the shark until it gave up on what it thought was an easy meal. Kid was from Atherton HS, down there with her softball team on their Spring Break trip.
120 stitches is what WHAS reported. Who knows. They also said when the shark attacked it picked the girl up off her feet. I've never been able to stand on the second sandbar at the section of beach where we stay. I have to question whether she was actually on the second bar. Wherever she was it was the wrong place at the wrong time.

Scoring is up due to the efficiency of the 3 pointer becoming an actual game plan
In the NBA, from 03/04 Season to 13/14 Season only 5 teams total averaged 10 3pt attempts a game.
This year alone 11 teams average over 10 3pt attempts a game, Last year there were 6, the year before that there were 3 teams.
Agreed, teams are getting more shots up in general, including 3 pointers. Teams are getting more possessions per game. The best rule the NBA has emphasized in recent years is the the hand check rule during the 2004 season. Many guards struggled to move and score with defensive players using their forearms to impede progress. Much more enjoyable game now.
-
I don't want to see any challenges, I want to see some flow.
The NBA has been focusing on this the last few years. Their solution was to clean up physicality by calling more fouls. Scoring is way up in the league. College officials have been asked to do the same. Scoring is up this year. Not sure what you're looking for.
-
Sideline official who has use of a monitor to catch certain violations missed by in game refs. Also allow a coach 1 or 2 challenges during the game. The NCAA has to start catching the obvious calls.
-
Just a though, but, is it possible to have a 3rd party evaluate them?
Possibly. However I'm not sure that is part of the solution. I'm of the belief that during any given game the human element will rear it's ugly head. These guys aren't robots, they don't see plays in slow motion, they get excited, angry, frustrated, tired and experience the entire gamut of human emotions. This can never be eliminated.
If we evaluate officials at this level on a scale of 10, most nights they will rate out between 5 and 8 on average. I don't think 9 or 10 is attainable on a regular basis. During the championship game for example we debate a number of calls that occur that could go either way. There is no definitive right or wrong call. However, the one call that everyone knows was missed is the play where Meeks' hand is out of bounds. How do we eliminate these missed calls?
I would like to see an official added that is responsible for these types of calls. This official would use a monitor with discretion to override certaint calls on the floor. I also believe that a coach should get two challenges during a game. If a challenge is won you retain both challenges. This is being done in other sports, so really nothing new.

I, for one, found his frequent use of "Juan Palashus" in place of "Juan Palacios" during UofL's 2005 Final Four run, perfectly endearing.
:lol2:
I guess at 78 Verne has earned the right to butcher some names.
-
Wait wait wait... now we have a problem with Uncle Verne too?
If Verne would learn the player's names I could overlook the rest.
-
If they are going to call flagrant ones for inadvertent contact, call them all. Don't let the officials determine when it's a foul and when it isn't. During the Oregon game Karnowski was raked across the eye on a shot attempt, he struggled with his eye for the remainder of the game yet no flagrant one. Write the rules to where it eliminates interpretation.
-
One team seems to get the friendly whistle each year. This year it was North Carolina. I have no problem with that. The issue for the NCAA is how do you find consistency within your officiating. Most people acknowledge there is a problem, but nobody has a practical solution. Best to accept the fact that the officials are gonna be adequate at best.

While I really like Gus Johnson, Jim Nantz will do whichever events Jim Nantz decides to do. Deservedly so, dude's an icon.
They can demote Grant Hill, but don't mess with Raftery.
Military Action in Syria as a Response to use of Chemical Weapons
in Kentucky / National Politics
Posted
The clear message is the new US leadership will use military action against a dictator who commits mass murder against innocent people.
