Nuclear capability is the great equalizer. This is why it is so important for North Korea to demonstrate that they have the weaponry to reach Seoul. From what I gather, and I'm far from an expert, NK currently has the ability to reach Seoul with nuclear warheads. This really limits the US options.
-
It's being reported that 36 Isis fighters were killed in the bombing.
-
Seoul's proximity to North Korea, about 35 miles, makes this a deeply concerning situation. There are over 20 million people in the metropolitan Seoul area. South Korean casualties would be massive. If the US is going to strike North Korea, seems the only option is nuclear. We all know how that plays out. Tough nut to crack.

I want to hear how many ISIS fighters were buried alive in their tunnels because of this bomb. I bet that put some fear in them.
Wonder if we drove as many of them into the tunnels as possible before we bombed?

In general terms everyone, removing someone against their will is normally a very physical process and people often get hurt.
I understand that force is inevitable when a person is resisting. However that doesn't justify excessive force, which I believe to be the case with this incident.
-
Correct. It still would've been wrong on United's part, but it wouldn't have made national news. They very easily could've removed him (even if he was acting like a 3 year old as some have said) without causing any physical harm.
We all know that use of excessive force is never acceptable, regardless of who's right and who's wrong.
-
I love how the question about the other 3 is never answered straightforward. Also the bank statement comment tells me all I need to know about your take on it all. It's your opinion United is wrong and not up to you to "end the story". Btw saw this morning that I think last year there were 419,000 involuntarily removals from flights. Didn't see a thread on here from anyone being up in arms about that.
The mistake made here was breaking the guy's face. Eliminate the injuries, nobody says a word.

Should be a reminder to us all to know what we are signing. Read the fine print.

If Dr. Dao hadn't of played possum he probably would've been D.O.A.

The creator said in hindsight it was a mistake to continue the mystery of Jack's death into the fall season. Said he had no idea viewers would be so upset about it. Hence the summer movie.
-
Just read where the creator says they will air a 2 1/2 hour special in June that will focus on Jack's death. Should be awesome!

I played in our weekly club league yesterday and hit the ball good off the tee but couldn't hit greens in regulation. I was barely off the greens by a few feet in most cases. However, I couldn't chip it worth a darn. I've never been good with that part of my game but last night was a 1 on a 10 scale. Usually my putter will save me on a few holes with some made 10-15 footers but on this day that went south too. Shot 44 on Par 36. My league average last year was 38, so I've got some work to do with my short game.
Does anyone have any tips on what to do to improve a bad chipping game?
There are some great videos on YouTube to help with the short game. When I'm having trouble with my chipping it's usually from lack of play which leads to lack of confidence. Lack of confidence in the short game is death. Usually some practice and repetition will correct most of it.

According to WHAS-11, Dao's license was reinstated two years ago, with restrictions.

A pot of pinto beans and cornbread. I think that qualifies. Make that last almost a whole week. A little bit of onion to eat along with it really tops it off.
This was a staple when we would visit our family in eastern Kentucky. Seemed like everybody had a pot of pinto beans on the stove.
-
Vienna sausages anyone? Or perhaps potted meat?
Yep. Warm Spam and saltine crackers wasn't bad either.
-
Practices at least one day a week I believe. I was simply saying that those saying up the payment to give up seat may have worked, probably wouldn't.
And it's possible that he had his license reinstated.
-
He's a doctor from my hometown and his wife has a pediatric office there as well. Would guess already a millionaire so what was offered may have been pocket change that wouldn't make him want to give up his seat.
He may be a millionaire but according to the Courier Journal he's not currently practicing medicine. He surrendered his license in 2005 after being convicted of drug charges. His wife does have a practice in Etown.

Different discussion. You didn't need to quote me to make that point. I only responded because you quoted me.
You are correct. My bad.
-
That has nothing to do with our discussion.
I said chemical weapons were destroyed. Capt278 and UKMF said no. I posted information about 1,300 tons of Syrian chemical weapons being destroyed and that the US Navy helped destroy them. That is all I am trying to prove in the discussion.
I understand what you said. My point is it doesn't matter where the weapons were, only that they shouldn't have been there. For that I hold the Obama administration accountable, the same way I held Bush accountable.
-
Agreed. Just making sure we don't put words in his mouth. He could have sent in Seal Team 6 to assassinate Assad in the dark of night and that could have been an option on the table for all we know.
I would think that taking out Assad has been discussed many times by both Obama and Trump. Seems that all the dictators who've tested the US have been given multiple opportunities to fall in line. None of them do and the story always ends the same. Destabilizing a country truly must be a last resort.

He said how he handled Syria is his biggest regret but he has never stated what he would have done differently.
No he didn't. I suppose he could make the same mistake twice, but something tells me he would handle things differently.
-
I don't have a problem with it at all. However, there are multiple threads here on BGP with people upset about the time Obama spent on the golf course that are noticeably silent on this subject all of a sudden. That is what I have my eye on. The POTUS never has time off and the POTUS can never ignore a phone call. Doesn't matter where the POTUS is or what they are doing. The POTUS is never off. At the same time if folks want to complain about Obama's tee times for the last 8 years then I want to see some complaining now.
Not seeing it yet.
Perhaps these heathen have seen the error of their ways.

I recall Trump saying on TV that he new more about isis then the generals did.
I wonder why he has not devised a plan to wipe them out?
Could this be just another lie he told and that his followers are OK with?
He said Icees, he knows more about Icees.

No. Nor would my bride wear a sun dress and cowboy boots.
