I don't know how you could have watched that first game against Madison and not wonder about their ability to be effective against better competition.

I think it can be a little misleading to look at volume stats and think that tells the whole story. Also, I'm not saying Boyle's o-line is bad, I just don't think they are at the same level that Boyle County has seen in past years.

If/when they get healthy on the OL it should be more like something that we’re used to. Boyle’s building valuable depth though.

  2. It’s rivalry week in Titletown! Danville makes the 2 mile trip across town to take Boyle County for their first meeting since 2019. Covid issues forced the game to be canceled the last two seasons. Both teams enter the game 2-0. Danville beat Garrard last week 36-0 while Boyle was across town taking care of Bryan Station 36-12. Danville enters the game ranked #7 in 2A and Boyle will remain at #1 in 4A. Neither team lacks pedigree as they have 21 State championships between them, Danville with 11 and Boyle with 10.

Danville will bring in a stingy defense that’s given up an average of 7ppg so far in their first 2 outings. Offensively they will give you a heavy dose of the speedster Demauriah Brown. The ADS don’t have a ton of size or a large roster but they do have athletes that can make plays and give the opposition plenty of headaches.

Boyle’s defense has been no slouch as well giving up an average of 6ppg over the first 2 weeks. Quisenberry has been a ball hawk in the secondary with an INT in each game. On offense the Rebels feature a myriad of weapons. Dawson has shown he can get yards through the air or on the ground, Bodner, Stone and Quisenberry create a 3 headed monster that can line up in numerous positions on the field to create mismatches and exploit weaknesses.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances this town is excited for this game to be played again. Rebel stadium will be the place to be Friday night in Titletown! Which team will come out victorious and enter next week 3-0?

  3. Boyle had an opposite game compared to last week. They started off hot jumping out to a 22-0 lead at the beginning of the 2nd quarter and it seemed like they lost their groove after that and didn’t look too comfortable for the rest of the game. Props to Bryan Station for making Boyle work for 4 quarters, they never quit battling. Both teams will be better because of this game.
