I would be shocked if Burke doesn't win it. He plays QB for a team from the second largest city in the state and his team has advanced farther in the playoffs. That being said...if I was voting, I would vote for Johnson. Taking him off of his team would mean losing its best offensive and defensive player. He's the best defensive player in the state, and a top level offensive player at the high school level.

While LC's defense hasn't been what would be considered "upper-tier" stuff...they do have the athletes to play superb defense on given nights. I didn't see the game last night, but I imagine LC took advantage of the fact Highlands has become pretty one-dimensional over the last couple of seasons? There's nothing wrong with being one-dimensional, particularly if your talent suits it, but a quality opponent can certainly take advantage of it if the cards fall right.
