  1. It is a great offense. If the old adage is true... "the best friend of a QB is a strong running game," .. it also is a spot for good passers.  In a well-run wing-t , WR's will be wide open.

The terminology is just baggage these days.

Use more words like "nub" or talk about Glenn Caruso's quotient for defensive difficulty (number of gaps plus number of receivers that can get deep quickly) the base formation is tough to defend.

Who knows... to an old single wing guy, like General Neyland, the wing-t may look "modern" because it has an under center QB...which he did not.

Football is as much cylical as it is evolutionary, if not more so.

I like it even more, now, because it either is different or "appears" different to a bunch of the offenses that are being run.

But... I agree... the name makes it tough.

Even in our program at Anderson, we do some things that are proven and GREAT for the development of our kids... but I have asked our coaches NOT to use one of the names for what we are doing. Sort of silly, but the perception with some of these words can be an issue.

  2. Crossed paths w/ Coach Yeagle when I was a very young coach. His Tigers knocked out our Greyhounds in 1993 & 1994… we had good teams but Beechwood went on to state titles.

In those days, we could get great tendencies by formation on our opponents, but not against Mike. They could attack the entire width/depth of the field from a variety of sets.

He was always super to me and I thought a lot of him.  KY HS 🏈 is much better for the efforts  of Mike Yeagle. Legendary. Elite.

It’s a tough day for common_sense_eagle. I am not sure what KHSAA reasoning was for not pushing through these districts, if anyone has any insight please let me know.

I will continue to do this every realignment year and I guess I’ll be driving 4+ hours for a district game again these next 2 years.

I can only speculate why this was ignored, probably has to do with the same reason 6A rotates sister districts and nobody else does.

I appreciate your efforts. It made a lot of sense. With the advent of RPI… my best guess… it is only a matter of time before AI is used to do football district alignments and even more.

Thank you and your day is coming…. Hopefully sooner than later!

I agree and my guess would be Corbin has a pretty good idea on who they are hiring to replace Coach Greer.

I don't know this...but that is certainly what it looks like. I sure hope so.

  6. Like always, had a blast at Pikeville. Appreciate Coach Chris McNamee hosting us… we look forward to this trip every year!

Thank you to Trosper & 4thAnd40 Alum, Randy Maynard, who is now one of my bosses!

Trey Dalton made a 4 hour drive to be there today. Dalton Stamm & Bill Melton brought 6 Lewis Co. Lions. That meant a lot to me and I sure do appreciate it.

Look for the mountains of eastern KY to continue producing QBs that can sling it!

To be fair, I'd need to see how the play developed. I could see both being right. 😆

A couple weeks earlier I had thrown multiple interceptions in our game against Wayne County. That loss was my fault.

Wayne County had a good, young running back. His name was James Fletcher!
