I do defend the Birds for sure. But I am also open and honest about all the teams. I just like to talk basketball and I don't sugarcoat it to anyone. There are strengths and weaknesses of every team. If you look back to many posts over the years, I give plenty of "feedback" to my own team when they don't play well. In fact at one point, I got scolded for telling too many secrets when providing feedback about my own team! So I've pulled back on that a little! :ylsuper: Look at other threads for other teams this year, I've already said it would do Holmes well to have a better half court set. And a Holmes fan agreed, rather than getting mad. I said that I'm not sure what to expect out of ND. It will be interesting watching them progress. Just because I don't agree with a few adults and few practices on here doesn't mean I'm an HC hater. I'm honest with everyone and some can take it and some get offended. It's all good. Kids don't always need to hear about sunshine, rainbows and unicorns!

 

Listen, now that HC is "relevent", people will talk about your team. I thought that's what HC wanted...to be "relevant". It's great to be "relevant", right?

It's always negative with you and HC, in this case it even came down to name calling.. lololololol.. Pathetic! I noticed that every time someone supports or defends HC on a thread, you get it shut down. Not today. IMO, HC will compete at a high level rather you like it or not.... Wow! Testy huh? Well I think I've been pretty complimentary of the RETURNING players on here. I didn't see any "bashing" going on. Open and honest opinions...yes (which is what I thought this board was for). I'm sorry that you disagree with my assessment of HC and I didn't realize that only HC folks were allowed to comment on the HC thread. Something must of changed on this board. I say many things about many teams. They are my honest opinion and one thin-skinned HC fan isn't going to keep me from commenting on his beloved team.

 

I'll invite you over to talk about our school if you like. I'm honest with them as well. I know they have strengths and weaknesses and I have no problem with discussing either.

 

All my comments in this thread are honest and have been focused on the upcoming season.

I only noticed you jumped on HC thread as usual to say you like McClendon and Tucker but their not scorers...Not very complimentary!! Lololol. Sorry I disagree, they are both scorers as well as Gabbard and a few others, who like the previous poster mentioned didn't play much due to last years team. So, there's your answer. Still keeping them in top 5 IMO!

Gabbard will have a breakout season and will be a top scorer. Btw, she didn't play JV last year so not sure what you're referring to. In any event, I still put them in top 5!

It is an HC thread and I am talking about HC. You said they "put in work"... insinuating that is a why they may be better and people would be surprised, correct? My point, all teams have several kids that worked really hard all summer. Are you saying the HC kids worked harder? I guess I don't get why "putting in work" makes them any better then every other team the "put in work".

 

I'll leave the "RETURNING PLAYERS" comment alone.

Maybe so?! But this is the HC THREAD so I'm speaking about them and of course their RETURNING players..

This years Holy Cross team will be a different team from the past few years, that being said a lot of people are down playing them McClendon is in my opinion the top point guard in the 9th. She alone will carry this team to a lot of wins this year, Tucker will also pull the same weight as McClendon and win some games for this team. They might be small compared to years past but they will be quick and are well coached they will beat a lot of people they are not predicted to beat, (by a lot of people on this site.) All that being said i being a fan of this team would not put them a top the region soley because of who and what they lost but they will surprise a lot of people!

You know very little to be such a big fan. First, HC preforms as a TEAM. That is what will make them successful. Secondly, there are a few returning players on that team that spent their entire summer putting in work, with the exception of one or two ... HA! I think the whole region is in for a surprise.... EVEN YOU! I would definitely put them in the TOP 5 of the region! There are people on here that have seen their talent and what they are capable of without the bigs but don't speak, and YES they are ALL RETURNING PLAYERS... If you are a true fan of HC and you don't believe, you should sit this season out!

No. Players and parents make their own decisions. A lot of coaches involved in High School

Basketball coach in the summer. I know a lot of them and pulling players to their program is not their motive. These hints of these coaches only trying to pull players to their programs are disrespectful and unfounded. I've watched many of these coaches give everything they have to make players from schools they know they will play against in the High School season better players because they care about kids. I would suggest you have a better grasp of what these guys give up for all NKY players before you go speculating their motives.

Lets cut to the chase, this particular girl from St. Catherine was going to NCC but they have enough freshman paying tuition that they wouldn't allow and good for NCC, unless numbers are down there is no way a kid should go and play over a parent who is paying tuition whether they are better or not, NCC has done the right thing. I know exactly who you are talking about RCCA9 and I believe you are pretty accurate with it all.

Two different kids. The thread wasn't started with the one that is driving her all over town. The thread was started about the kid that was pulled out of her school yesterday (a day after the varsity program announced where the kids would play) and enrolled at HC that afternoon. The other kid was just an example of others that are "coming" by next year. They will have a great class coming in!

So if she did in fact try out for NDA, why is there a direct thread on HC enrollment. What about the parent that is driving her kid all over God's green earth to get her kid the best position when the best position may be to develop more.. Don't see how that is a HC issue if shes been to other schools?!

It's not one 8th grade girl...before it's all said and done. There is already two and more to come. It's not about this kid really.

 

But when she's on the varsity roster and playing...we can hook back up and chat.

 

She could have stayed and played JV and maybe some varsity at the school she was at that is ranked much higher than HC this year. So what makes you so sure she wouldn't be able to do it for HC.

Everyone thinks people are on them now because they are jealous they won state...Go back two years ago and look it up. I was on this waaaaayyyyy before anyone dreamed HC would win state last year.

 

Like I told the other poster, I will come back on and tell you "I told you so" when it all plays out. Two have gone now, one is coming next year and I have a good sense there are others on the way.

 

Saying it's "sour grapes" is all the HC folks that are in the know way of diverting the news. It's easy to say "they are just jealous" to have folks move on. Trust me, not jealous one bit. It's just don't like it and don't thing this is what HS sports should be about. Win at all costs!

She is not a freshman she can transfer to any school she wants, just like every other girl in NKY. It will happen and has probably already been guaranteed, thus the move. If I was the coach of the school from which the transfer occurred, I probably would have simply cut ties as it was pretty obvious that this transfer was going to take place at some point in the future.

Its not gonna happen. I think its funny how no one really knows whats going on but assumes everything. Plus, I just noticed we are speaking of an 8th grader? I swear I have seen over and over and over that it is ok for these girls to change schools before their freshman year. hahahahaah. I just forgot that only applied if they registered at any other school in the United States besides HC. This is foolish. Wait until season starts. You cannot guarantee these girls will take spots. Like I said. I DO NOT care who she played for, I've seen their JV team. They're hungry and very talented, not just anyone will come in and take spots.

But here's an idea, WAIT TIL SEASON ACTUALLY STARTS before everyone makes all these crazy assumptions. lolololol. This is good stuff.

Heard they received a new student from one of the local public schools yesterday afternoon. Seems like what some were saying on here is coming together for them. Also heard there may be another leaving another school, but haven't confirmed that one yet. More to come...I'm sure!

Funny thing is, with this schools two PGs hurt to start the season, this player could have been on track to be the starter until the others returned.

So if this mysterious person was not good enough to make the high school team where they were or they were cut, why do you think she will play varsity at HC or even JV for that matter? LOL! I don't see it happening. I've seen their JV team. lololol. Not gonna happen. I think we are looking for stuff to talk about when it comes to this school.

The HATE is what keeps NKY athletes from success, NOT the lack of talent. NO ONE in NKY wants to see someone doing better than them. Even through the AAU programs here in NKY (where these same people on here coach and/or are in charge of the same athletes they hate to see succeed). THEY CHOOSE who THEY WANT to succeed and/or showcase based on their school, coaches, etc. NOT by talent! Its such a shame! And ultimately the reason why there's so much success for the student athletes and schools down state. THEY SUPPORT EACH OTHER!

If you're not happy seeing any athlete succeed, no matter what school, team, etc..Some of you are in the wrong business.

I agree! Kramer is by far the Best player on that team! Hands down! Watched her play in the Boro this summer Kramer is definitely top in her region as far as players and should have been first mention. I think Theres too much hype on Clos, watched her play this summer as well and was extremely confused on the hype. I think if you are going by last years stats in NKY AND DID NOT watch summer ball where these athletes matched up with the best of the best in the country, you're in for a rude awakening!! Congrats to Kylie and best of luck! I'm Sure she'll be signing this year!
