Lol. Is that what it was? In the end, It was still a fun game! I believe all fans loved seeing their teams play so competitively this early in the season!!

hahaha.. Nothing snuck away and HC was just beaten huh? SK Had a total of 30 free throws... ?! I need not say more. Also HC's best defensive player (Beal) received 2 fouls 3 minutes into the first half and sat until after half. Then was in and out the fourth for same reason (referencing the comment that all starters played heavy minutes) and, She only scored in the third since HC was not allowed to play without a call, making her and Tucker sit some or most the fourth as well. So as far as there not being enough questionable calls to make a difference, as lace up said, well I'd disagree with that one, with 30 Trips to the line for one team. LOL.

Also, the plays going through two people was not the play or the plan..Lol. One should never think we only have two scorers. Lol.

But I do agree it was a great game!! Everyone played well and it was really good to play a team that knew what they were doing and DIDNT try to injure the other team to make up for lack of talent. Great job!!

RCC, After reading your countless , repetitive and exhausting posts, I see why someone would want to leave.. Do you just feel you're better than everyone else or better than anyone not in your little town where they give out iPads to each student?!? What is really bothering you?! Is it the inner city school winning it all? With no IPad?? Or the fact that they help those same kids with no Ipads made their dream come true, and actually was given a chance? We know that does not happen everywhere around here... I know why I chose HC and it had NOTHING to do with athletics!!! It's how they make the children feel...And as far as the coaches, they believe in them when they don't even believe in themselves, not just bench them... They push them through mistakes, problems, struggled and/or fears, So they can and will succeed even after the ball stops bouncing... Isn't that what good coaches do????? I know for a fact this does not happen everywhere. Again, why I chose HC as well as many others... Everyone is welcomed and good enough!! Now Carry on with your accusations and rants..but I'd watch what you say... You're on a very fine line!!

I had the pleasure of seeing the last half of this game. SH is packed with talent and plays very well. Good luck to them the rest of the season!!

This is is false. You were actually whining about two other 8th graders with the same name, who I said would not be on varsity..I also advised at FC Game "the one in the boot was varsity only"... Marion County produced some that were worse than this a few years back against better teams than Seneca.

If if they were better than Seneca, I get it. And I honestly am not concerned with the Holmes blowouts, like the other poster said.. You get use to it. I Just felt bad for the kids at Seneca after seeing their record. But like I said, people will post what they want. I was only wondering for my understanding.

Fair enough. When I attend the games, I've always posted scores on BGP going back to 2009. Didn't know there was a protocol. If you look down the threads, I think you'll see other posting that shouldn't be posted according to that line of thought.

Agreed.. But people post what they want. I just wondered the point of the post if we knew about Seneca... There will still be post about blowouts.. Never seen one this bad though.. lol.. Maybe NKY will stop talking about Holmes for a while and talk about this game..

I guess the question is what did it prove to post this?? Seneca won 3 games last year. Not very impressive to boast on the win. All of NKY bashed Homes last year for 40 points or more in a game and again this week for the 40 points against Boone... So I would expect it to happen to a Louisville team as well. I just don't think it's impressive and it proved nothing to post.

If the go to Diddle they will be a long way from the state tourney which is at NKU

I do not think Male is overrated. Great team, extreme athletes.. They were just playing another team with the same skill set! Good Luck to Male this season..

Shots were not falling for CC all game. Then FC came out shooting the lights out the second half. Hopefully this will motivate them, as they are much better shooters than what we saw last night.

Yes, very good defense will alter shots. If they go against a solid defensive team, the results may be the same. But its something that can be worked on. Most teams without solid defense will play rough, to the point of injuring other players to make up for their lack of defensive play or when they get beat by their opponent. Good luck to CC, I'm sure they will be fine..

Would love to see stats of this game. There's a lot of hype in Northern Ky. But playing against a team that "really" plays defense can shut it down!!

I agree, it was a good outing. I don't think I would say Assumption has lack of talent, maybe young. however, I also think the coach evened the playing field by allowing the subs to get so much play time. I was a good experience for all the kids.

At all, just none of your business why they play or rotate or don't rotate like they do!! Who cares, are you the coach? On the team? Mascot? Who cares why the JV only played JV or the varsity only played varsity. REALLY!! Who cares! It was a scrimmage. Lol. You will get to see who all the players and subs are in a couple weeks.

It's a discussion board...they are the current state champions...are people not supposed to discuss what appears to be an odd decision???? Again, I would have asked our own coaches the exact same question if they would have done that! And I'm not the only one asking (and I wasn't the first) so apparently others were curious as well!!

 

We are referring to a varsity SCRIMMAGE. Are you saying there are only 6 varsity kids healthy right now. And for you comment about the kids wanting time against D1 kids...are you saying that only those 6 wanted that???

 

It was just a question as to why only 6 would have played in a SCRIMMAGE. It's odd to me and many others on here and this is a discussion board. It's where questions like that get asked...and again...we would have asked any team that did that. Just happened to be your Indians and you take offense to it. It was just a question.

 

And why is no one questioning substitution patterns of other teams...well maybe because they aren't odd patterns like this is for a scrimmage. Regardless of whether they agreed to it or not and whether they are working on their things, it's still an odd choice. To each their own. We were just curious.

 

And again, why didn't you respond to the guy that asked you?? And I never said a word about depth. And you never answered...were the 8th graders there? Your previous post was from weeks ago when you told me the 8th graders would never be on the varsity roster.

I answered the first and last comment (#'s 10 & 14) and that referenced how odd it was. It doesn't appear odd to the girls. Every program is different and if you're not in the program, you won't know how it works. And this is their program and yes, it is different. But it works for them.. I apologize you are having a hard time keeping up here, let me make this easy for "clarification"......EVERY team has JV subs or girls that play up, so of course if I am saying "varsity only" then I'm stating how many varsity only players ( the ones who will never play JV or freshman) were there or not there. There were many subs (girls who will dress varsity) in the building. But with the absence of the other varsity only players, the starting 5 wanted to play the whole game. Because AGAIN, we are talking about a varsity scrimmage with FC, a really good team. (Have you seen Frank or Stewart Play??) If other girls who will be playing varsity were playing FC in the JV scrimmage, (which by the way, their JV team was as good as most varsity teams in the 9th), Why does it have to be examined? They played to prepare.. Wasn't that the issue? It wasn't fair, why wouldn't they get to prepare too.... I believe it was...There is the clarification.... The rest is Moot!

Other members of the team who are and will be dressing varsity did in fact play. They scrimmaged in the JV game against a very talented Franklin County JV team. I believe the chief complaint has been remedied for now. I will leave you with your discussion board.

Ease up big guy!!!! You don't think that is a legit question for any team playing a scrimmage??? Sounds like more than just me were confused by that statement! I would have felt the same way if it was my own team!!! I've NEVER heard of only playing 6 players in a scrimmage no matter how many I had hurt. (unless I only had 6!). Is that not a fair question by the original poster??

BTW...are the 8th graders dressing varsity? I believe it was you in a previous post telling me that wouldn't happen. They would have too many other JV players in the way. I know one was in a boot (not sure if she's out yet and I wish her well), but I think the other dressed and traveled with the varsity team to both scrimmages, right?

Ease up? LOL.. This is comical. Ok big guy, Are we going to go on and on about this and have 10 pages about enrollment next. The comment was HC had no depth. I stated the comment was false, because it is. Questions surrounding how they chose to play IN A SCRIMMAGE should really not be a concern to anyone. It's a scrimmage and its their team. Why is it such a big deal??? So many of these post have done nothing but bash HC and their coach. I have yet to see where anyone questioned how any other team has subbed in their scrimmages. Back on the issue, there are enough players for subs even if a few are injured or sick. However, they wanted to play the entire game with no subs since there was a JV scrimmage. It was a practice and they are coming off summer break.. What better time to test your endurance with a good team like FC? If one or more wanted a break, they would and actually did get one. FC has some great players in Frank and Stewart, I don't blame the girls for wanting the entire game against D1 commits for practice, considering the the other varsity only players could not play. I mean we are referring to the VARSITY scrimmage, are we not?

Also, the injured player you are referring to who is in a boot was not referenced in previous posts. But clearly she was sitting varsity and was injured. The rest of the girls that were in attendance are playing freshman and/or Junior Varsity, few of them were missing as well. But I wont do a head count on who was not in attendance because it was a scrimmage that has come and gone. I don't live in the past, Its a new day.. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Of course you do. First of all there were 3 injured varsity only players there, so they clearly were not scrimmaging. There was one varsity only player home sick and one out of town. The other subs did scrimmage in the JV game.. However, they did scrimmage last week. This week was just different. Like you said. Some teams work on individual things. Hope that makes it easier for you to understand. If not, then I guess your question will remain unanswered.

Holy Cross has a good starting five, but they have NO depth. Only played 6(and the 6th player only played a minute or two). No one was able to foul out or they would have been in serious trouble.

This is is false. It was planned that way and the girls knew and agreed there would be no substitutions.. Kinda like running eights all night in a practice. It was a scrimmage, therefore the outcome wasn't as important than the practice.

Help me understand - a HC fan that has a realistic assessment of the team isn't a true fan? I don't think HC will go 38-0 and win State Champ back-to-back, does that mean you don't want me going to the games or supporting the team? Anyone who doesn't agree with you isn't a fan?

Not at all, If it were a true assessment by another HC fan who has actually been to the scrimmages, etc., since the loss of the graduates. Honestly, I don't mind the assessments by those who have not seen them since March, they haven't followed the girls, just like we have not followed their players, unless we've seen them at a summer event.

However, I know who that is and I know he has not seen them all play together since state. I've been to every event and he has not been there. So, IMO his assessment can't be very accurate (for a fan who knows the team well) to say that he "would not put them in the top of the region" due to what we lost. I personally would not speak of any other team or player if I had not seen them play since summer. It's all one big mystery. ANY athlete on ANY team has the ability to be a different player than they were a week ago, not to mention a whole summer of training. And that goes for every team in KY. I think my comment to him was more how he got on BGP stating how he knew the team so well, then stated he would not rank them top of region, but again, he has not seen them since March?!?

If you are not a fan and you went by what you saw in March, I get that, and those assessments don't bother me. However, to state how well you know the team, players, etc. and you haven't seen them . I don't believe that's a true assessment (for a fan), IMO.

And if the kids see it, they will know what kind of kid and player I think they are. And if they can't deal with a little feedback, then they are in trouble in a year or so when they graduate. I have said nothing bad about any of the kids involved. If you can find something, please share. There's not one bball player in NKY that couldn't improve their game. Saying a kid is not perceived as a "scorer" has NOTHING to do with how good of an overall player I feel they are. In fact, I state how good I think she is. I think I used the word "outstanding" PG...with great defensive skills and bball IQ. But, AGAIN, you only read what you want. But if they do read it, hopefully they read more than you do.

And I know you were around last year when I was complimenting them on their run. Heck, I talked to you about it. So I'm not sure where "always" comes into play whenyou talk about my negativity. That ONLY comes into play on a few adults and one subject. Don't try to tag me as a HC hater. That's not true as a whole.

 

It's not always negative with HC. I like the school. I love some of the other coaches. I like a lot of the players, parents and alums. I root for them in other sports. I always have.

 

AND I STILL HAVE THEM IN MY TOP 5 AS WELL! So I'm not sure why you keep saying that??? LOL!
