  1. Who is HC best defender?

Well the first game Johbson was defended by one person and had six points...This past game she was not guarded by that player. ... I won't EVER BITE into who's the best to save the drama for myself.. I just know who is capable of stopping ball the more than others and those numbers don't lie.. Of course No ones 100 % at stopping. But HC does have a player who is vey capable, puts on pressure and is extremely fast, but no credit is ever given to this kid... The Last game that same player guarded K.Stokes who had 2 points I believe?! Which is also unusual as Stokes is the second leading scorer right?! That's just my observation though. Again, no drama for me. It's Sunday and I prefer to relax today.

  2. This appeared to be a normal basketball game to me... No side stories, no drama. Just basketball. Both teams came out strong..HC was up at the half and the game stayed within a couple points back and forth until the end where HC had some turnovers and/or missed shots that ND converted..also, I will say that this is the second game in a row that HC needed their best defender on Oppsonibg teams best shooter to limit those points...Otherwise, Great sportsmanship from what I saw by both teams... Here's the final box score from enquirer.

    Holy Cross (14-8)–McClendon 5 0 10, Gabbard 1 1 3, Tucker 2 2 6, Chames 1 1 3, Beal 6 1 15.

    Totals: 15 5 37

    NDA (15-6)–Hagen 2 2 7, Martin 9 4 28, Gribben 2 0 4, Baugh 1 0 3, Miles 3 0 6. Totals: 17 6 48.

    Halftime: HC 24-21. 3-pointers: NDA 8 (Hagen, Martin 6, Baugh); HC 2 (Beal 2).

  3. HC is better than average having some good talent on the floor, but I think Highlands is a better at playing together as a team. If Highlands is at full strength when they play HC, I think Highlands wins that game.

I agree. And Highlands probably has done a better job of playing as a team.. Haven't see them play! Either way, HC has to play as a team or they lose. Point blank! Regardless of who does or doesn't want to hear it... The games have shown, when they play for each other, it's good. When they don't, it's not so good. They've taken losses they shouldn't have in my opinion as a result.. But for Dixie fan dude to say they're not good this year.... That's false..

  4. Jeez.... When are these polls gonna face the fact that maybe HC isn't quite as good as last season? How about HHS, Conner or Ryle from the 9th? This poll has some southern flavor to it..

Is HC only other team you saw?? And HC is just as good as anyone else in the region. Trust ME....If they'd play like a team, they'd be unstoppable. However, fortunately for the rest the region, it can turn into more of a showcase than a game being played as a team.... But believe they are just as good or better than most teams in region. But thanks for acknowledging us!! Fans are always appreciated.

  5. Boone has never "self proclaimed" anything, they're clearly in rebuilding mode, yet, they beat Holy Cross. It's clear your skewed in your assessment, time will show that HC doesn't belong that high in the polls.

First of all, was my response to you? I was NOT referring to Boone..They are not ranked.. AND EVERY team is in rebuilding mode. So what does that mean.. HC is the only team that does not get a rebuilding pass..lololololol.... Right.. Brossart beat HC last year.. Whats that mean... NOTHING...

  6. Lady Raiders had no time to celebrate last night's win over Holy Cross, but traveled this morning to open the Lex Cath/Traditional Bank Tourney with an 11 am tip off against a young but hardworking Christian Academy of Louisville who was coming off 4 straight wins. Raiders had another good defensive effort in this win, and was led by Mallory Schwartz, Ryle's top scorer today. Jones and Jump also reached double figures.

Ryle plays Scott County (7-1) tomorrow. The winner plays Monday against the winner of the E-town/Bracken County game. Good luck ladies!

I know Ryle is probably still celebrating, but where is the details on their game with the athletic Scott County Team?? I think most predicted they'd beat Christian Academy of Louisville... Any stats on the Scott County Game?

  7. SK, Ryle and Boone have beaten HC. Surprised to see them so high.

Why?? They beat Cooper by nearly 30 this week. But of course we don't hear about that, only the 1 & 3 point loses against teams that are self-proclaimed to be the best. Lol. Bigger question is why Highlands is #2?? Or NDA, NCC ranked so high..... Nope right after HC AS USUAL.

  8. I disagree. Ryle did not have anymore athleticism than Holy Cross! Maybe what you consider athleticism is different than most. Being big doesn't make you athletic does it? Maybe slower but certainly not athletic. Because I know HC has a couple of the most athletic guards in the region.. Now, this being players with true athleticism and extremely fast...Also as previously mentioned in this thread, Holy Cross does has size and their inside player was on the sideline for that game, she's 6'2".. Also, having seen the talent here and down south, I think Ryle fans are thinking too far ahead of themselves. They may have size, but so has many other teams that have not made it out of region. For instance, Ryle played Holy Cross with a 3 point win. Now, I'll give you the size since their center wasn't playing....but for a team with no athleticism, you'd think there would be a bit more than a Three point play in the final score?! Good luck Ryle the rest of the year.

  9. Need a lot more details before anyone could compare that as being the same. Like I said, that happens all the time. So do you think many feel this is different. Why are all these folks from all different places now starting to talk. And we don't say anything about all the others situations. We all collectively just don't like HC? Remember, I'm the only HHS person saying anything so it's funny that you think or any of you think this is a HHS thing.

Its not "all these folks". ITS YOU on every thread no matter what it's about, trash talking HC!! You try to put stuff in people's heads trying to make it stick. The rest just can't think for themselves as you always seem to have all the "reliable sources" and want everyone to think you are the go-to for NKY sports.

  10. I do not know every player at HC but what I am hearing you say I guess they planned on Chames playing center for them this year and no one that was a freshman, sophomore or junior last year was a center is that what I am hearing?

This is a reason why I ask where Chames played last year.

You're not hearing, you're twisting... But nice try... You wanna know, Ask her parents, they attend every game.... I bet you won't...... Plus, If I were a coach, and had a new ball player who over 5'11", she'd be a center. I don't care where she came From but I know where she'd play... But still which center is not playing???

Also, is Rice who transferred to NCC (as a center) taking any play time from anyone???

  11. First I'll say, when you add kids, it always effects someone's playing time! But secondly, why are you just talking about varsity. There are four new kids at HC this year. Somewhere in the program, they are taking minutes from long time HC kids, correct? Why are you only concerned about this year's varsity team.

This is incorrect. Please name one! No long time player sits.. And i mention it cause you bet it all that the new 8th graders would be on varsity!! You know, the day you were concerned with enrollment. Lol guess what.....

And no long time player that is not varsity sits.. They all play...... Isn't that beautiful!!!

Hey, has HHS ever received a transfer from another school district who turned out to be a star player??? Not just basketball. Soccer, softball????

  12. Answer me this, in your opinion and this is for everyone who is reading this did Macke take her kids to HC and part of her AAU team or why did some of these girls all of a sudden transfer to HC their 7th and 8th grade years were there High School district they are from not good enough?

i personally don't know her, she coaches the boys team, not the girls.... And is this not a question for the students parents... I mean don't they register their children into schools??? But I will tell you this....I've Never even seen her even interact with these girls you keep whining about.. I'm there everyday before and after practice, Never see her. But maybe it's cause they don't practice with the boys team.

Also, I believe Some people will get to know her way before I have a chance to with all this defamation on this page.

  13. I am talking about the ones that are in middle school now and are you telling me that the Macke girl who transferred right before basketball season didn't take playing time away from someone who has been in the program? ILL WAIT!!!!

Thats EXACTY what I'm saying. The only 8th grader playing varsity is Chames... She is a CENTER.... Show me ONE JV/ FRESHMAN CENTER who lost an opportunity and has been in the program for years or even a week... I'll wait...

Also, I might add, if you have been in ANY program for YEARS and another player trained harder and excelled, no matter what program you're in, someone younger or older could be played over based on performance.. However, that's not the case here.

  14. I think what they were saying, correct me if I am wrong. Is NDA has a lot of Stars/Premiere players and a couple have transferred to NDA after a summer with the stars. Martin from Grant after playing for him. The freshman Hoppius the same from Conner. Gribben, Zimmerman, Rennekamp all played for the stars as well. I am sure their are others. Hagen? Being involved so much with a org as their coaches are does allow them access and the opportunity to build a relationship to maybe sway these families to NDA. In the end I would hope a parent isn't going to choose a school for sports alone. I also don't feel this pales in comparison with kids playing 2-3 years for a school as a middle schooler and then changing schools and a freshman.

Yes, true!! however They all played with the Stars ONLY!

  15. Everyone needs to really see what is going on at HC and I have said this before I feel for the girls who have been in the program for years to have someone bring girls in and take there positions without them giving a chance to prove themselves. Its obviously to me that the coach saw what was coming through the pipe line and had to shore those classes up with some talent. I know for a fact that he has been at Blessed Sacrament, St. Pius and IHM games, coincidence I think not.

Some of you can turn a blind eye to it and I hope your kids aren't affected by it.

Which kid has been in the program for years that is NOT on varsity and/or DOES NOT currently play varsity???? I'll wait.....

Also, NDA is filled with kids from the same AAU team, where the their coaches actually coached over the summer, as well as a few other schools, who by the way, between me and you, have new transfers as well... Shhhhhh. We won't ever discuss that. Ok. Lol. Ridiculous. And did you ever think he had a reason to be at a St. Pius game??? Or any team they were playing???? Hahahahahaha!! People who know it all really don't know so much do they??? Keep guessing, you're not even close to knowing what you're talking about!
