  1. I’m just not sold on us getting that 4th round win, let alone a championship with Stinson as the QB. I don’t bash kids but I’ve watched him very closely the last couple of games. He just doesn’t read the plays. Against McCracken I watched him throw into double coverage multiple times when he clearly had someone wide open on the other side of the field. Even people in the stands are yelling and pointing. And this is with plenty time to throw. No rushing or anything. You’ve got to look at the field. You can’t zone in on a receiver from start to finish. Read the field. I know you have go to routes on every play. But maybe just maybe the defense is better suited for that route and someone else’s assignment will suit the play better. We have to do better there. And it starts with coaching.
Be careful. I got crucified because I said "our corner"
  2. Sorry that some of us don’t get behind your way of thinking and singling out kids when it’s a team sport. But whatever makes you feel better about yourself :thumb:
I promise you I'm not the only one thinking this. I may be the only one posting about our corner play. All I said is it needs to be fixed. I'm done with you. Always stirring something. Useless!
  3. I believe Murray beat Mayfiield in 1995, 7-0. I think it was the initial kick-off TD return or punt return for TD. Might be wrong about the year.

This game will not be if there will be a running clock but when.

Too much power on both sides of the ball for Murray to contain.

    Wasnt 95. It was 1998. I'm certain.
  4. Oh without a question. And I'm not throwing any shade at Graves at all. But I find it interesting how because Mayfield was played closely that Now its that Graves that's favored. And I think CC's Defense is playing better than it did last year, much more stout than Caldwell. But because we're aren't scoring as rapidly then we're looked at as "not playing well". When the fact of the matter for you Mayfield fans is this...you want to talk about how unimpressed you are with our team and our schedule but before last night your combined opponent record was 5-9. Christian's was 7-9. Ijs.
Hey 55 I was going off what I saw in that game. I have only seen that 1 game and from my observations wasn't too impressed. Maybe they didn't play their best that day. Not saying Graves would beat CC but if they did I wouldn't be surprised.
  5. 44,

Did u happen to see Christian County when Mayfield was getting ready to play Hoptown earlier? Was curious of Cardinal Nations thoughts on the Graves v Christian game at Graves later.

I was there for that game. Yes it was the 2nd game of the year but Christian didn't impress me like they have in the past few years. Graves is a solid 5A team. At least they looked like it tonight. I think Graves will definitely play Christian close and wouldn't be surprised if they beat them imo.
  6. Maniac is really going out on a limb here. He picked all the defending state champions with the exception of CAL. The Mayfield marketing department has done its job and gained his pick for 2a champions.
Our marketing department also knows that if we make it to the semis it will be played at home at ole War Memorial Stadium 😁
  7. Good win tonight. McCracken played tough and hung around longer than I thought they would.

This was a game of penalties. Think both teams had 11 each at the half. Curious to see how many was thrown for the entire game.

Thought our defense played a little sloppy tonight. They held their own most of the night but I saw lots and lots of missed tackles. I haven't see that from this bunch through the first 3 games. Credit MC for making us miss on some of them but most missed tackles was from arm tackling. Hope we nip that in the bud going further.

Overall I give us a B on the night. But, I'm still happy with the win.

  8. Well, speaking for myself only, after losing a record setting 3 year QB, and a record setting 4 year starter at RB, and 3 very good linebackers, I was concerned about the first part of the schedule for sure. I am pleasantly surprised at how well we look right now, especially on offense.
You can speak for me too. I agree.
