  1. That's really a shame, do not know their specific reasoning (curious to know) but it is a fantastic experience having gone through it with my son. We never really were a powerhouse, but did make it to Elite 8 one year and was an unbelievable experience. For many of these kids it is as close as they will ever get to something equivalent to the HS Sweet 16.
  2. That's awesome they are coming as in the past I remember some, but not a lot of N KY teams participating in KBA state
  3. KBA State 8th about 1 month away. Seems like this is a tough one to predict based on last year, because some of the really good players moved up and are playing HS Ball instead of playing with their grade. Interested to see who is going and what teams have impressed people the most this year.. Some of the teams that impressed me from the Central KY area include Boyle, Clark, N Pulaski and if Barrett has their team intact from last year they will be hard to beat. Last year (7th) results from PrepKY Sports for the KBA State include: Elite 8: Ashland, Knox, N Pulaski, Clark, Scott Co, Barret, Lincoln, Owensboro Final 4: N Pulaski, Barret, Lincoln, Ashland Championship: Barret 58 / N Pulaski 45
  4. KBA has 7th grade tournament in about 3 weeks, interested to see who is going and who people think have a shot at it this year. Last year was very competitive with North Laurel winning by 3 over North Oldham in Championship game. Looking at PrepKYHoops the teams last year in the hunt were as follows: Elite 8: North Oldham, Conner, N Pulaski, Chavies, N Laurel, Corbin, Mason Co, and Crosby Final 4: North Oldham, N Pulaski, North Laurel, and Mason Co Champion: North Laurel 55/North Oldham 52
  5. Mostly have just seen Central KY Teams, but some of the teams that I thought were pretty good were Clark Co, N Pulaski, and Boyle. Lexington Middle Schools are just starting this week and No Kentucky always has some good ones. Of course there is Barrett that won state last year as 7th graders, if they are still intact they may be the team to beat again this year. Starting a new thread of KBA State 8th grade and also 7th Grade as it is not too far off
  6. With the KBA Middle School State Tournament approaching for 6th Grade (think it is Jan 20th-22nd) curious to see what teams people think will make a run for it this year. Last year if I remember correctly it was a thriller with North Laurel edging North Oldham by 3 I did talk to someone over at KBA this past week and they mentioned that they had 60 teams last year and they are expecting to exceed that this year. Not sure if they have a cap or not, but if your coaches haven't signed up probably would be a good idea to get done next week if they can. I have a better understanding of the the current 7th and 8th grade teams as I have seen quite a few of these games and saw them play last year at state and will make a new thread for each, but would be interesting to see who is going and who people think are the favorites this year Probably be at KBA this weekend so maybe I can get some info on who they already have signed up
