Congratulations to Lyon County for winning the 2018 6th Grade State Championship 58-26 over Southern (Lex) who is just starting out their season. Lyon had a dominating weekend winning all pool and bracket play games by >20 points and Lyon County teams are coming back for 7th and 8th Grade State as well. In the Gold Division congrats to Southern Pulaski barely edging out Meece in thriller 48-45. Thank You to all the teams for participating, including the coaches and parents!! It was a great tournament with over 60 teams from all over the state and hope all had some great experiences and made some lasting memories.... All tournament team should be up on KBA website in the next couple of days!! Just had a great conversation with Coach Edelen and got a a confirmation sign-up from 2x defending champion Barret TMS Hilltoppers that they are coming to 8th Grade State to defend their title!!! Have about 70 teams currently - should be a great tournament Feb 2-4 in Lexington

Good luck to you!! I bet you will do great. Posted on other thread that I was able to go through 3 tournaments (6-8) with my son and never were a powerhouse, but made it to elite 8 one year and unbelievable experience. Awesome memories. Although certainly not directly comparable, it does have the feel of the HS Sweet 16 on Sunday (championship day) and may be as close to the big Dance that many of these kids will ever get to have.
