  1. Then why did all 3 end up somewhere new? Would have made most sense if two others joined one. I would be more likely to buy that if Scott Co had a bunch of really good players returning but they didn't. Would have made more sense if all 3 went to Madison Central.
  2. Biallas, Chapman, Chisolm, Keita, Lulu Nowell
  3. Who do you think they are? Some 11th region school that can just get transfers and let people know about it right away without ever getting on the KHSAA's bad side?
  4. Sorry feller. The kids from last year are all back. I don't think Keita is gone. New ones are there too. Cordia can't just release names of transfers like other schools so people are tight lipped.
  5. Everyone is still overlooking Damon Tobler. Breakout year for him this year.
  6. Cordia has had more than 3 kids for awhile. Old news. Yawn.
  7. You cannot be serious or don't have a good grip on history.
  8. Aww... you used to be all about the Canadian players. Lemme guess, Rod didn't give you a scoop?
  9. And judges are smart enough not to level tons of penalties against a school on hearsay and one side saying, "aw shucks, trust our word... this has nothing to do with them already winning two lawsuits against us or the fact that one of our big witnesses was fired by them".
  10. Thanks for the update on the witness list, poster who didn't know the significance of Hudson's guardian before this morning.
  11. You must have missed the part about the KHSAA relying on the word of Hudson's guardian. Going to be tough to prove up without him I'd imagine.
  12. Right, but Cordia should at least get to challenge the motives of the KHSAA's witnesses if they are going to take the word of a person who Cordia had fired as the gospel. You think Hazard might be a wee bit nervous about what Hudson's guardian could say on the stand?
  13. Paying (AND HELPING) moving kids? What do you call a foreign exchange program? Sounds like "go to America, live with a team booster well off enough to be able to afford to take you in and let them take care of you" to me. Do you have proof of what you accuse Keita of or are you just going with the rumor? If Cordia is so dirty and got Hudson, what does that say about Hazard getting him later? Perry County Central, getting two kids from Philadelphia and the best player from a State Championship team in New York? Pssshhhtttt... that's all? No big deal. Not even close, right? I guess they must have just randomly decided to move to Hazard because the city life was too fast paced for them. Listen to yourself and get real. When the Hazard/Perry County has attracted 3 foreign players, took one of "dirty, cheating Cordia's kids", and got three transfers from New York/Philadelphia in basically the same time frame, then they're probably in on some of the things you are accusing Cordia of doing too. Even if you think they aren't, you can at least see how someone could think that about them at least. That's not even getting into Perry County Central getting Johnson or raiding smaller schools of their talent err.... I mean, the smaller school's talent just decides to move in. Puh-leaze.
  14. An ex-Cordia player from Texas and 3 foreign exchange students at Hazard? Two kids from Philadelphia, a kid from New York, and kids from Sheldon Clark, Breathitt County, and Buckhorn at Perry County Central? Those are closer to Cordia's league than teams in the kiddie pool with teams like Buckhorn who lost some of their kids to other programs but wound up with one from Owsley County. Bylaw 7, Section 1 ends by saying "if compliant with all other KHSAA bylaws". Don't you think it's a bit naive to think that Bylaw 16 only applies to Cordia getting kids from other states but not Perry Central? Don't you think Hazard stepped it up even more by getting kids from other countries?
  15. 14th Region Updated Ranks with no Cordia. 1. Justice 2. Beverly 3. Hall 4. Tobler 5. Christon 6. Hoskins 7. Jones 8. Chaney 9. Combs 10. Blair
  16. Who are Knott's 4? I guess Justice, Hall, Christon, and Cornett? If we're talking homegrown, then Justice, Combs, and Caudill are about as much of putting together a team. Justice's Dad was hired as an assistant. Cunningham's Dad was hired as an assistant. One of those two moves had people up in arms much more than the other. Knott County Central, Perry County Central, and Hazard were worried about Cordia. We all know it. If Knott County Central could get some of the kids Cordia had, you know good and well they'd take them if they thought they'd help. Cordia knocked Knott County Central out of the district in 05 and 07 with their own kids anyway.
  17. Not a poet, but I’ll try my hand at being a playwright. ACT 1, Franklin Court: Plaintiff’s Counsel: “Your honor, may it please the court if plaintiff’s counsel introduces Exhibit A?” 3 foreign exchange students who are great basketball players that wound up at one region school through random placement. The allure is so great that even one of the kids who found his way from to Texas to my client's Cordia team eventually wound up at there the very next season. “Your honor, may it please the court if plaintiff’s counsel introduces Exhibit B???” 2 students from Philadelphia who wound up at another region school. They also happen to be good basketball players. A few years ago, it was a highly rated player from a team in New York who joined. The next year, a collegiate level talent from Sheldon Clark. But this year, the economy slowed and the area was only able to attract former pupils of Buckhorn and Breathitt County. “Your honor, may it please the court if I introduce Exhibit C???” Here, we have another mountain school. Sure, their best player has a family member who was hired onto the staff. That and that alone is what prompted a legitimate move. Somehow, only the changes on the Cordia staff seem to have drawn all of the attention. Sure, this school got a transfer from 2 regions away last season. But they were also so kind as to take a "charity case" and rescued a promising prospect from the mess that was Cordia over the summer. He can really shoot the three and they missed having another scorer once they got to State awhile back, so man, could they ever use him this year. Opportunistic? I think not! Annnnndddd...... maybe they’ve gotten another good player who happened to relocate to Hindman, but it was before his freshman year, so he’s fine. Nothing to see. Why is it that Hazard and Hindman are such popular destinations that practically encircle Lotts Creek, but we’re only here today to question the motivations of children moving to one of those places? Why is it that the school with dorms is recieveing all the scrutiny? Defense: “But, but, but... the 14th Region is cleaned up now. We got rid of Cordia. We got ‘em!!!” You take over PurplePride92. Fill in a blank. Judge: “__________ this is just silly.” Plaintiff: "But, your honor, I haven't even gotten out of the 14th Region yet."
  18. Will Cordia sue the KHSAA? That's what I've heard. Word around Hazard is Cordia plans on fighting this. Sounds like an end game. If they sue I'd say that neither party is going to come out smelling like a rose. Winner is who takes the least damage. Here's what Alice Whitaker said to WLEX18 a while back. Cordia Responds To Basketball Suspension | LEX18.com "We have no comment at this time on the KHSAA sanctions. We are handling this matter through our lawyers, due process, and the courts to rebuke this unfair, unjust, and unprecedented ruling. We are going through the proper appeal process and will be going through the courts, because clearly the KHSAA has no interest in being a fair and unbiased authoritative governing body." KHSAA ruled on July 28th. Said that Cordia would have 30 days to appeal. If they are going to appeal they'd have to do it soon, 10 days in already.
  19. 6-4 or so, really athletic and can play all over the floor.
  20. Thank you Randy Parker. Damon is really athletic. Didn't play as much last year as he probably should have, but he just moved to the area last season. When they played really good competition, he was a kid who could still do his thing. Now that Johnson and Toomer are gone, it's Da-Man's time to get his shine on. He will be one of the best players in the 14th next season hands down.
  21. Best team in the 14th that nobody is talking about. Don't know why y'all can't show the boys more love. Knott County's time might be up. Braxton doing the curtain call and Tobler exploding on the scene. Add Whitmore, Blair, Turner and Pray. They might have the team to beat in the 14th. I'd even put them up above what I've seen and heard about Hazard so far, that's for sure. Foreign exchange kids might not be all Hazard is hoping they'll be!
  22. Braxton Beverly and Damon Tobler should get more credit than y'all are giving them. Braxton might end up being the top overall player. Tobler ends up right there with everyone else at the end of the year. I think he might be just as good or better than Christon is right now.
