  1. Now that the smoke has cleared, I believe 3A Champion Boyle County had the best Oline in 3A.

    LT-Ryan McClelland-SR

    LG-Zane Young-SR

    Center-John Yeager-SR

    RG-Ned Stephens-JR

    RT-Will Bramel-SR

Ned Stephens is the only starting linemen that missed a start this year. He sat out the regular season game vs. Lex Cath. Mitchell Paycheck was his backup for that one. John Yeager played the last 2 game with a probable torn labrum in his right shoulder that forced him to snap left handed.Other than that, these 5 guys started every game for Boyle.

It should also be noted these guys were all one-way players. Depth matters!

Congrats to these men for an outstanding season.

  2. Just had a celebration for both teams on Main Street. The Mayor declared Friday, December 8th Title Town Day in Danville. I'll post video in a few minutes.

The Titletown Pep Rally at the courthouse square was awesome!

I love see community coming together to celebrate our football teams successes. If you were a part of this celebration, you must realize just how precious this moment was. I will treasure it till the day I die.

    Who Ya With? TITLETOWN!!:dancingpa

  3. Boyle doesn't win the title with Reese Smith....

    Or Landon Bartleson

    Or Reed Lanter

    Or Reiley Colwick

    Or a great defense

    Or a greal Oline

Or the best coaching staff in the state.

I think we needed them all.....but Reese is a flat-out baller.

  4. I am confident this is going to be a tremendous football game. Corbin is really good and play hard, physical football till the whistle. They hit hard and tackle well. And so does Boyle.

The Corbin QB is an animal and will hurt Boyle either with his arm or with his feet, maybe both.

Tough to pick a score. I would have never guessed 14 points would beat Etown in the Semis. Never expected the defenses to control that game like they did. And I was wrong,

    Anyway,

    Boyle County 31

    Corbin 28

  5. I believe I'm right but correct me if I'm wrong. Boyle County has a starting defensive back who started for Corbin as a defensive back last year. I think his name is Snyder. Just thought that was an interesting piece of information and wondered if it could have any bearing in the outcome of the game?

#18 Nathan Snyder moved from Corbin to Boyle and is a starting DB for the Rebels. The Junior has been an impact player for Boyle and made many nice plays throughout the year.

  6. There is no rule that says "There can be only one Titletown". It is a mythical award based on several vague factors like geography, proximity, championships, and any other variable you wish to include.

We like it down here in Boyle/Danville and we choose to call ourselves Titletown. You can agree, disagree, care less. It doesn't really matter. If you want to be a Titletown, then go be a Titletown. We here in Titletown are pulling for you.

I can tell you the Danville Mayor and Boyle County Judge Executive are hosting a press conference at 3:15 to boast on Titletown and wish both programs good luck.

In my mind, that makes it official......Titletown, KY!

  7. I think if they both win it is definitely Titletown 2.0.

Some are already calling it Titletown.

Some have never stopped calling Titletown.

I for one have been so proud to be associated with a community that treasures winning football like we do here. This week has been so refreshing. The pep clubs from both schools have mentioned on social media about coming and supporting each other in there respective games. Danville moved its basketball game from Friday to Thursday. Only reason I can think of was to give Danville's student body a chance just to do this. I hope Boyle returns the favor on Saturday.

There will be unfortunately some who would never support the cross town rival. The good news is this is a dying breed. I only cheer against Danville about 4 times a year. The football game and inevitable 3 basketball games.

    GO REBELS

    GO DANVILLE

    GO TITLETOWN

  8. Unless someone's not reporting on KHSAA I have Boyle with the following in the giveaway/takeaway count.

Boyle has lost 4 Fumbles all year. Lanter has thrown 4 interceptions all season.

The Rebel Defense has 23 Interceptions on the season and 15 Fumble recoveries.

That would be 38 takeaways and 8 giveaways for a +30 in the turnover department. Wow.

Great Job Hatz!! That is some high quality research.

Boyle and Danville both had 3 turnovers in the head to head matchup and Boyle lost.

So Boyle is undefeated when they win the turnover margin. I may stick with that thesis in my prediction post.

  9. Not sure how many turnovers Boyle has on the season, but their defense has generated 38 turnovers on the season 23 interceptions with 6 returned for TD'S, and 15 fumble recoveries with 1 returned for TD. They have really made teams pay for their mistakes.

It was the difference in the game last week. Boyle was +2. Kaden Gervacio's 4th quarter pick setup the game winning score and Clete Hellyer's pick nailed Etown's coffin shut.

  10. Other than the Paddock and Woodford seating on the home side, I think $13 (which includes parking) is a good value.

Didn't WKU and Papa Johns also have some premium seating which included access to indoors? The difference, albeit a big one, is UK's premium seating are located in a premium section on the homeside.

I anticipate record crowds at this years state championships.

  11. This should be a really good matchup.

Boyle was in a knockdown dragout with Etown in the Semis and should prepare them well for the title fight.

Corbin held off Central down the stretch which should also prepare them for the title fight.

Statistically these team are pretty even on both sides of the ball. To me, that makes the game decided by special teams, turnovers, and/or penalties.

Hope this one plays out as a classic. Both of these teams deserve this.
