  1. So even though he lives in The Taylor County's School district, he should attend campbellsville?

Is that what I said? No. I pointed out the fact that since theres a picture of all them together you automatically assume he went to Taylor County. When in fact he went to Campbellsville Independent Schools. In GoHards post, he said "Berry's family is from Taylor County and returned "home"." And then I said if he was truly returning home then he would be going to Campbellsville since thats where he was from. Then you followed up saying theres a picture of them all together, well yea but that was a community league and he was going to campbellsville elementary. He LIVED in Campbellsville School Districts then, I could care less where he lives now.

  2. Berry is from Taylor co. And even posted a l pic of him, goodin, and Webster when they played little league together.

Anyone who applied for the TC job knew Goodin was the states top player in his class, so no way that should be held against him. The kids do mouth, but I agree that the coaches and parents are much worse.IMO Gatewood is a young, hungry, hardworking coach. The question will be how long does he stay at TC or does he try to get back to Louisville.

The picture of him, goodin, and webster that was posted was a picture of them in the COMMUNITY LEAGUE. Berry went to CAMPBELLSVILLE ELEMENTARY...returning home would be at CAMPBELLSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL....again, good try.

  3. I am going to agree with CoachQ on this and you are able to feel the way you choose. But I do want to throw another perspective. First off, Coach Gatewwod is very animated and emotional. That can be a double edge sword. Bobby Knight comes to mind and he is a great basketball coach that opposing Big 10 fans could not stand, but Indiana fans loved. Outside of the Big 10 you had people in both camps. You could call coaches like that polarizing to a degree.

He sought the job at Taylor County knowing Goodin was a young player with tons of potential. But any Coach who took that job would have gained that advantage so that can't be held against him. What if he did not develop as expected or what if Gatewood has been a part of his development? Whatever way it went, he would either get the blame or he should get some of the credit. The Louisville kids are very different situations. Coach Gatewood has been a major part of David Sloan's life for a long time. He coached David's brother at Moore and was close with David well before he approached high school. David is part of the Gatewood family and anyone who knows how well that has been for David that cares about him is grateful for the care & love the Gatewood family has given him. Berry's family is from Taylor County and returned "home". That he got two Louisville transfers one part of his family and one a kid returning to his families home makes them sort of locals anyway.

If Berry is returning "Home", then shouldnt he be at Campbellsville High School....good try.

  4. I agree that Goodin plays with a pretty good deal of maturity as far as how he stays even-keel. He sometimes reacts in the moment, but he's gotten a better handle of dialing it back to avoid any extra stripes attention.

Berry, on the other hand, and Webster to a lesser degree, do some jawing.

I wouldnt say Webster as much as Berry, but yes he does. I dont think any of them are as bad as their coach.

  5. These kids are great friends and you've gotta love the rivalry. Check out what Lincoln Point Guard Timmy Taylor posted on Twitter moments ago after a devastating loss. "@young_uno1: Our region will be represented great at the sweet 16, the rivalry between us has been great now y'all show out at state. #12thregion " great class by both schools. Tyler went right over to Conway and Taylor right after the game to help the with the grieving.

  6. Awful call at the end. Ref needs to eat his whistle with 1 sec left to go. However Tyler was as cool as the other side of the pillow with that gym rocking. Whenever lincoln needed a stop they never could get one. Bell too much early on. Loved the end of the game when Tyler put boyle on his back and Conway put Lincoln on his. Then it was time for Tyler to show why he's 12th region player of the year.

  7. Well, Randy, I'll have to pick the Cardinals on this one. Neither is a big team, but I believe the overall larger size of Taylor will be in their favor. If the Tigers are allowed to hold, lean, grap and slap as they were last night, the size advantage will be negated. I hope to see a cleaner game than last night's examples. In the N. Hardin/Taylor game their was an effort to curtail the taunting early, but allowed to go on most of the night. I expect a war tonight in Greensburg!

What bothered me last night was that the refs warned Taylor County everytime they did something but nevered T'd them up, including stopping the game to warn Gatewood. As soon as N.Hardin player did something, they T'd him up on the spot. I dont know who complains more, TC fans or Gatewood.

  8. Anyone remember the 06/07 season? Lincoln and Boyle met up in the District Championship game @ Garrard County with Boyle winning and then the two teams met again in the Region Finals @ Lincoln County with Lincoln winning! This time Lincoln beat Boyle @ Garrard in the championship game and now the teams meet once again @ Lincoln County in the Region Championship game. Could we see the complete opposite happen from the 06/07 season??? Itll be an exciting night!

  9. I do some shopping in Greensburg. I have heard that rumor in Columbia, and disspelled in Greensburg. Compton is one of the most improved players in the state, from the begining of last year. Keith Young has ressurected the Greensburg program. He has been looking forward to hosting the region; this year is his first. It is a shame, if his team is not complete. If Compton is unavailable, I hope the other players step up and compete. Colton Bush is extremly capable in rebounding, pushing the pace and 3 point shooting.

I am not hip to tweeting! Do you feel comfortable telling what his tweet was? Could this be an example when the emotions of youth may come back to haunt the tweeter? I will be at the 4th tonight and also the 5th tomorrow!

From what I was told and seen, Compton tweeted out "I'm always gonna find my way to glory!! @Goodin_3 @dayday_sloan" this was tweeted out a couple days after he was seen eating dinner with an assistant coach from Taylor County.

  10. The 5th Region could be one of the best regions in Kentucky, no clear cut favorite and several teams close behind the favorites. This one should be a dozy of a region tournament.

    Favorites:

    Taylor County (25-4):

The Cardinals have been the top team in the 5th region and have won 9 straight.

Quention Goodin will be the player that leads the Cardinals. Qeuntin comes into the regional tournament averaging 21.7 PPG. Taylor County has two more players averaging double figures in scoring, Brandon Berry (15.9) and David Sloan (12.7)

    Bardstown (19-10):

Despite being just 9 games above .500, The Tigers are 15-0 against region opponents and are the defending region champions.

Elijay Cowherd (16 PPG) is the main horse that makes this Bardstown Tiger team go, followed by Keanu Young (11 PPG).

    Close Behind:

    North Hardin (23-8):

The Trojans have been on fire lately, winning 9 straight. North Hardin also owns a 82-57 victory over the same team they will meet in the first round of the 5th region tournament, Green County.

Tony Jackson (17.3) is one fun player to watch for the Trojans.

    Caverna (21-5):

The Colonels have had one of it’s best seasons in school history and they don’t look to stop as they enter the 5th region tournament against Elizabethtown. These two haven’t met this season. Caverna is taking an 8 game win streak into this game.

Mason Faulkner averages 30.1 PPG and he looks to continue his success for the Colonels.

    Elizabethtown (17-9):

The Panthers have won just 1 game in their last 5 games but the good thing is they haven’t played their first round opponent, Caverna, this season but the bad news is, Caverna only has 5 losses.

Zach Patterson and Guy Williams are the two main players that led this Panther team.

    Bringing up the Rear:

    Bethlehem (17-11):

The Eagles started the season off hot and stayed that way mid-way through the season when they started cooling off and in fact, Bethlehem is 1-4 in their last 5 games.

Derek Good and Jade Hutchins shoot over 58% from 3 and over 80% from the line for the Eagles.

    Green County (11-17):

Green County is struggling right now, 1-4 in their last 5 games with one of those losses being to North Hardin (82-57), the team they will meet in the first round of the 5th region tournament.

Green county will rely on Dominique Compton, who averages 26 points per game, to get them through this regional tournament, one game at a time.

    Adair County (12-18):

The Indians put two wins together at the end of the season but that’s all they got as they would lose the district championship game to Taylor county. Adair County is 2-3 last 5 games.

Adair County has 3 players averaging double figures in scoring, Zack Hutchinson (12.5), Chance Melton (12.2), Corey Melton (11.4)

    The Pairings:

    March 4th – 5:00 PM – Caverna vs. Elizabethtown

March 4th – 7:30 PM – Bardstown vs. Adair County

March 5th – 5:00 PM – Taylor County vs. Bethlehem

March 5th – 7:30 PM – North Hardin vs. Green County

    March 9th – 5:00 PM – Semi-Finals #1

    March 9th – 7:45 PM – Semi-Finals #2

    March 10th – 6:30 PM – Championship

Rumor has it that Compton quit yesterday, just a few days after he was caught eating dinner with a Taylor County assistant....hmmm.

Who is this ref? I'm a huge Lincoln fan and usually biased but only because I'm an Alumni. However, I went back and watched Lincoln/KCC and he was awful! KCC is very good but I swear it looked like he was trying his hardest to keep lincoln in the game. And I'm usually biased but he was awful! Lincoln got beat that night but because KCC is that good.
