I'm not going to get started on this issue but I saw who kept the football field in immaculate condition. There is more to having a great bermuda field than just mowing it but I'm sure you know that!

The bad part about not have your athletic fields or gym at the new school is no one will ever see what a nice high school they have.

I think one thing was he was wanting weight lifting classes and they told him no. As far as resources, all you have to do is look at the upgrades that took place last year to see things are better....got rid of those god awful goal post!!!!!!

I agree 100%. Everybody has something good to bring to BGP.

I get that if your going to be teaching you have to be approved by the site base council to teach but in no way should they be involved in hiring a coach or approve the hiring a coach. Reguardless of what you know and I agree with you on the processes you speak of.....a school that has quality coaches and programs hire the coach and then hire them as a teacher. In so many words they tell the site base council......this is our coach.....this is your teacher. I know your going to say there are rules to follow and all that business that I've heard from that school before but I can tell you there are rules but there are ways around those rules that still will make it a legal hire. I say this because I know some of them on the site base council and either one don't care about athletics or even worse don't even know what a football looks like. I'm glad they have so many applicants but if Coach Perry wants it he should be offered first....he has earned that much and I know that's the opinion of most in the community.

It has been answered if the person knows what they are talking about....that may just be their opinion.

Ok maybe he didn't apply for the Garrard job the last time but I do know he was approached and was talked to about it.....went back to Danville and I think was told they wanted him as coach in waiting. I believe he applied to the Pikeville job a different year....not sure about the Pikeville thing but believe it went that way. Either way....apply or be approached....that means there is interest by the parties involved. Applying is just a formality if someone is approached for a job. Just ask Chuck Smith.....he was approached to coach Boyle County but I'm sure he ended up having to apply as a formality. Oh and by the way, there was no committee formed to hire him....they knew who they wanted and went after him.

If he is hired wonder if his son will come and play for him or if he will stay at Boyle. Would be hard to watch him play his senior year if he didn't transfer

Again, I'm not speaking for Coach Perry BUT this is the second time he applied for this job since he left and if Danville hadn't lied to him and told him he was the coach in waiting then he would have taken the job last time....so he will take it this time.....MY OPINION!! I feel like there will have to be some things in place for him but it's ultimately up to GCHS to pull the trigger and make it happen. Unfortunately, past performance sometimes leads to future performance....hiring coaches.....let's cross our fingers they do the RIGHT thing this time. I could give you other facts on why I'm not 100% sure they will hire him but I can't. I might if they don't hire him but can't right now.

Budgets are tight right now especially for a county school like Garrard who doesn't have a lot tax revenue in the county but I'm a firm believer if you are committed to quality athletic programs you find ways to support them. Sometimes tough decisions have to be made to make that happen.

I agree with all those examples but I'm just saying Coach Perry has applied so all those examples should be thrown out the window. Sometimes you have to make adjustments to make things fit to get the right person. Never questioned Scenters class and character......just didn't like his coaching style and I'm not the only one that didn't......I'm just the only one that has said something on here. Was at the Belfry game..... It was one of the best hs games I've watched and crowds too but when Coach Perry was there the first time there were great crowds too.

Fact: Coach Perry has applied!!! Don't have to be on th hiring committee in that small town to know what goes on. To many people talk so it's not hard to find things out.

I'm sure it is a stressful job hiring coaches but it's their responsibility to hire the very best one to put the kids in the situation to compete at the highest level. If they can't handle that then maybe they need to move on to another job. Have you every thought that the reason they are stressed out is because they haven't been successful in hiring a coach in awhile?? Just saying!!!!
