I think what you saw in this game is what this group is capable of when firing on more than 1 cylinder. As i stated in another thread, Stamper was basically the offense in the first 2 games. In this game the starting 5 contributed and Vickers came off the bench to contribute big. Jones and Harmeyer came to life in this one to balance the offense inside and out. Just a side note...Harmeyer played the first 2 games(Ryle/W. Clermont) with only one contact as she ripped one of her last pair (my fault=bad dad) last week, and had new ones in during this game.We will see if that makes a difference moving forward as it seemed to in this one.

So you both are ok with the 88-11 score when clearly it didn't have to be that way? A coach/team has control over how many fast breaks to take, how many passes to make and what type of shot to take. I just think its wrong to do that to a team.
I somewhat agree with you..BUT- I think it depends on what the HC staff did..meaning personel. When did they pull their starters? Don't you think that nos.7-10 or 8-12 down the HC bench (depending on how many are dressed) deserve the chance to play some- like kids that will probably see little if any time on the varsity court? What about the parents of those kids that sit game after game to watch their kid play a minute if any at all? Dont get me wrong, I feel for teams like this that can't really compete for whatever reason, and like someone said on here, it probably hurts the parents more than the kids.

What happened in this game? Not having Niece really hurts, but still shocked to see this score.
Ryle came out on fire and SK was flat. Honestly as bad as SK played its a surprise it was only 17 pts. Stamper had a very nice game for SK with 23, but didnt have much help on the offensive end. Tip of the cap to Ryle. They look much better then they did last season. We won't have to wait long to see how SK responds as they play Saturday at Hoops for Harvest. I am also very interested to see what happens in January when these 2 teams meet again

LOL...I dont know who picked the music at halftime but if you can rewind listen to the lyrics

SK knocked off South Laurel by 15 last night at their place. Both team's starters pretty much played the whole game. I guess we'll see how they do against #8 on Thursday! #lovebeingtheunderdog

This list must have been put together based on last season. SK's Niece and WV's Lehkamp both suffered serious knee injuries over the summer and are likely to miss most of the season. If Niece doesn't come back (you couldn't blame her if she didn't since she has already signed with NKU) the 32nd, as well as the 8th is up for grabs. Before her injury she was a level above everyone else on this list and was the one player the rest of the teams in the region didn't have an answer for.
Well I was going to just sit and be a casual observer but I'm figuring what the heck, this my final season on this forum, and for the most part it's been very entertaining, and I thank you all for that! Most of you on here know who I am so this may sound a little bias...OK a lot biased LOL..but over the last 2 seasons I think you might be surprised if you ask the 8th Region teams who they've not had an answer for. Especially in the the 8th Region Tournament. And as far as this season is concerned IMO, if Ally doesn't play,(eventhough I hope she can), my hope is that this group proves to everyone that this is a TEAM, and not just about 1 player. Even without Ally there will still be a college commit and 2 to 3 that have colleges interested or have already been offered, so I wouldn't write them off too quickly if Niece doesn't play.

Krogers on mall rd has them. Do yourself a favor and take a few minutes and read it there and walk away. Its total crap when it comes to the high school previews..lots of errors, and just plainly don't know what they're talking about. Not worth $15.95 unless you want the college preview.
-
A kid I really like is '18 Becky Fryman. Hopefully there are college programs out there that have her on their radar. Does anyone know if there is?
-
CCH is four TDs better than Simon Kenton but we will never know because SK won't play them
Not arguing with you Zig but where did you get that information from? Because it sounds a lot like the SK WBB being accused of refusing to play Holmes Lady Dawgs. But amazingly Holmes girls coach leaves and this season they play each other. Again, not arguing, just an observation.

The poor softball team is in shambles too. Those coaches are doing everything possible to hold that together. Are there just not a lot of females going to Beechwood that are interested in sports any longer? That's just a question. Not a knock. And it's perfectly fine for them not to be. Just seems odd for Beechwood. Again, not a knock, just different.
I know this is a bball thread but i have a question...do you think that the switch that was made from slow pitch to fast pitch has anything to do with the decline in participation?
-
A name that I'd like to throw out there is Danny Roller. Has coached at Conner, Boone Cty and Notre Dame. He has also coached AAU. Very knowledgeable and girls enjoy playing for him. If Danny is interested I think he would do a great job at Bee hwood.
Agreed

Anyone know if this was a contact or non-contact injury?
No contact..doing a jump stop to shoot a pull up and the knee gave out....brighter note..saw Ally tonight..looked good, was in good spirits, showed me the knee.. wounds from surgery healing up nicely...not weight bearing yet..said she hopes to be soon.

Where to start? Sometimes things need to be cleared out about certain threads and things.
Joe Harney is a Holy Cross alumni. Both other kids go to Holy Cross. Why did Bailee end up at SK? Ask the coach.
The poster above talking about SK being to hard for this kid to get? Give me a break. This kid played summer ball and was second or third leading scorer on the team and by far the second best player behind Niece and to say something like this shows the intent to hide the real issues here. Which are:
None of the players and parents like the coaches. Fact. They talk about them at every chance. Why is that? Here is the answer. There is no communication between the coaches and parents. None. If you question any coach you are told to leave if you don't like it. Well if you are a transfer coming in that is not the case. Ask any of the parents who transferred in what they were told. They will be glad to tell you.
Players don't like playing for this staff. None do. They do not know how to react to being told three different things by three different coaches. There is a dysfunction in this. There is only one head coach and the other two and primarily the woman coach needs to learn. Look no further than the look on the kids faces when they are playing. They are miserable. Ask the kids. They will tell you. Ask the parents they will tell you. Seems the only people that don't know are the so called college coaches that roam the sidelines of Simon Kenton girls basketball.
This is 100% truth. This is not a post about Harney, but the condition of this program. Others could leave this year. If they are smart they will. I guess they are just county kids too who don't understand the complexity of idiots.
And Simon Kenton talks about Holy Cross. Really. :lol2:
"Was second or third leading scorer on the team and by far the second best player behind Niece"...Since they decided to put this thread back up I figure what the heck....just like behinds (where it is said some peoples' brains are stored), everyone has an opinion.. better check the numbers..they don't lie
Having said this , I feel I had better clarify my point before someone else tries to...i am IN NO WAY insinuating she is not a good player, simply that when you look at the team numbers from last season (per KHSAA), one may differ in their opinion on that subject. I wish her all the best @ HC and in her college career at Bellermine.

Why doesnt coach Souder just take his whole team and forget the rest ? LoL
-
I think it is hard for any kid to play for their father as head coach.
Others will always judge that they receive special attention playing time sort of things.
Gotcha..
-
Congratulations coach Foust!

No they are not but saw him Friday morning when news hit local paper.
This doesn't surprise me after last season.
His daughter is too good a player to have to go thru playing for her dad.
Just curious...what do you mean by that?

I'm a little confused to what you are saying. Clos and Schwarber are the 2 D1 commits on this roster. I don't know Miller and it's great she has committed to playing softball at the D1 level..best of luck to her. But..looking at her Bball stats it appears she is far from a D1 Bball player. Stapleton can light it up, and to say she's had D1 interest is very far from an offer..trust me from experience..I wish nothing but the best for all these kids, especially the'18 class I watched grow up.
