But what talent is available @ Taylor County? And where would he lived if moved back to the county?
-
I wonder why he didn't follow his HS coach to 22 feet academy? He was Slone's main person of contact everywhere on the AAU circuit. And maybe took advantage of the situation.
-
Good kid still has opportunity for a future. What could be interesting is how the NCAA views this new academy when its leader has a 10 year show cause. And the academy does not seems to have a school tied to it. And Where is the money coming from to fund this? The roster has kids coming from all over.

Some schools in JCPS just can't keep a coach. I would expect some kids to end up at Doss or Jtown...
-
It is a mistake to commit that early. Especially to Samford because they have offered about 50 people in that class. Hopefully is keeps taking offers from other while still committed. I believe the kid can do better...
-
If I'm him, I commit immediately to Belmont.
Why do you say that?

With the west team scoring 140 points, I would expect Mason Faulkner to have more than 4 points. I am wondering if some of the missing points belong to him or he was playing a true point guard role?
-
Dwayne Sutton will be transferring from UNC Ashville. Anybody know where these kids are going?
I can see Dwayne looking for greener pastors. He had a great year at UNC ashville and I believe he was undersigned. I will say I never thought he would transfer from there cause he was doing great.

So do you see team chemistry being an issue?
Yes I see chemistry issues. Saw it over the summer when Slone & Mathis played together on the Magic in AAU nationals. Point guards need the ball to be effective. One will have to take a back seat or work on their 2 guard game.

Off the top of my head:
I'd have to think that Jamil Wilson and David Sloan will provide the same dynamic that Quinten Snider and Kelan Martin had when they were at Ballard.
Jacob King of Trinity will be mentioned in the race.
Jaylon Hall of Doss will likely be mentioned as well.
I believe Wilson & Slone are too much of the same to provide what Snider & Martin has done at Ballard. They are both point guards who needs the ball in their hands to be effective.

Tyler would have went to Bellarmine, if they had recruited him. Not sure why they wouldn't recruit a kid of Tyler's talent. Their loss.
Bellarmine recruiting is weird. The have several kids from BE on team now but they seems to be looking at 6-6 ~ 6-7 shooters. I agree Tyler would have been a good fit there. Being at Louisville gives him a good opportunity to work on his all around game which to lead to either playing time or an opportunity to play somewhere else in the future.
-
I really liked Tyler's game too and hope he does good things @ UL. Quick question, what ever happened to the Gilbert kid from Scott County that walked on @ UL? I thought he was an excellent shooter and hard worker. Their games are sort of similar. Tyler is a bit quicker and more athletic but hard to find many shooters as good as Gilbert was.
I believe Gilbert transferred to Georgetown College.

Just had this pop up on my FB timeline......
Bullitt East's Tyler Sharpe will join Louisville basketball as preferred walk-on - Card Chronicle

Keeping kids out of school an extra day would not happen ( reason against a Tuesday start). I like the double Saturday finish as it is history. Sunday afternoon just seems weird for a championship game.
-
Tony Williams seems to be a darn good coach. He should probably be getting more credit than he is.
I believe he is a great coach. Problem is most kids these days can't take his style of coaching and he doesn't give in to them. I wouldn't mind my son playing for a coach like that...

The atmosphere at the big arena is apathetic. Once the novelty of playing in the big arena is discounted, you get nothing imo. It's just a big empty cave. Take it back to Holmes and Conner where it belongs. I can't afford $7 cokes and $9 hot dogs or whatever it is. It's definitely big league prices. I shouldn't have to fork out $80-$90 for a family of 4 to go to a high school game and get a ticket, drink and a snack. $8 tickets??? Wow
Tickets for Louisville Regions (6th/7th) are $8.00 but you don't have parking fees. Concessions are not that bad. The only bad thing about it all is location, location, location.
-
Hearing Hill is now eligible for PRP how does that effect things? They are playing as good as anyone in the region right now. Gotta love the aau feel in Louisville now. Not happy at one school up and transfer in the middle of the year and play at another school.
Is this the guy from Ferncreek?

Travelers 17s are officially not coming back. They will have 16u and 15u.
16U & 15U Nike EYBL is not really the same as 17U NIke EYBL (imo). So are these really just Nike dressed teams? And KY lost its' official Nike EYBL team?
-
I do not like that at all, but I guess the Louisville schools are used to it. So lets say two teams only play one game in the LIT can they quickly schedule a game for later in the week against each other?
CAL of Louisville played & lost Monday night. They have a game scheduled with Jeffersontown on Thursday.
-
Can someone explain how teams like Fairdale who did not make the field know to schedule games during the LIT? I get the concept but then if you think you are going to be in it before the season starts and then you do not make it......then you are stuck. Or do Louisville teams not making the field just play each other.
6th/7th region teams that does not make the LIT field are only allowed to schedule games on the Thursday that LIT games are not played. In most cases, that game would be scheduled once you don't make the field or in some cases, some teams already has a team scheduled for that Thursday.

Looks like some repercussions are starting to come about...

Friday's Frosh basketball game at Shawnee has been canceled. The boys' & girls' varsity games will be played as scheduled.

Yea give credit to Cov Catholic but also everyone needs to start getting that Taylor County has a coach that a) relied on getting everyone else's players and didn't develop his own players and 2) isn't a very good coach. The man goes where the talent is and then he screws the program up. Look at Moore and now Taylor. He won't be back next year. He will go somewhere else where his kid can be a star and that place isn't Taylor County. Can you imagine how horrible this team would be without Quentin?!? Gatewood is basically the equivalent of Lane Kiffin in football. Cocky, ignorant, and a sore loser.
He has only been HC at 2 schools (Taylor Co & Moore). And Moore has been a coaching turn-style for the past 6 years.

Just another thought... If he would have finished the year out @ Taylor County (I believe I read he left after basketball season) then transferred during the summer, would the results been different?
