  1. So if you think it should be done, what have you done to see that people that know max has a voice and it gets done? Get off the side lines and into the game. Too many good ideas never get put into action. Actions speak louder than words and as it currently stands, there are zero capable on current staff that can do the head coaching job
  2. Can you imagine that principal of Dixie agreed to have field named after Max as well as her site based council based on board approval and then once it was determined that decision was soley hers, declined to have it done. Her explaination "what if he does something wrong" and "it will set a precedent for other coaches to want something done for them" Well how about this, guy has been a model employee in both an employed and retired capacity, one of the most respected coaches in region with not a blemish on card, 600 wins. Currrent principal is clueless and current A.D has to work for her? It would be nothing for her to green light " Chris Maxwell Stadium" as it is long over due. I am not sure who is going to replace him when he retires, but not sure anyone on current staff is capable. If you or anyone on BGPs is a Dixie Alum, you need to take the time to call principal to express your interest in getting field dedication done. its easy to say you would like to see it happen but will you take the time to do it.
  3. Then why hasnt program won with talent they have had? To be highly successful in varsity baseball you need more totally committed baseball athletes and Dixie just doesnt have it. Kids now a days at elite programs are training year round. Baseball at Dixie is something you do before school is over for year. Super talented sophs on varsity team that look down on same grade kids at varsity level. when given opportunity, varsity coaches dont attend lower level games to show kids coaches have an interest. That is where the disconnect lies and when kids see it, kids do it.
  4. you are correct in saying there is disconnect between older and younger players on team and best teams are connected from top to bottom. Until the team realizes your only as good as weakest link, they will not take next step. Coaches on all Dixie levels lacks passion as head coach has allowed "yellers and screamers" to take reigns and coach the team. How much is being done to make players better and develop talent vs ranting when kids do something wrong? Workout in offseason lacks variety and enthusiasm.
  5. Id like to see Dixie do something. Team has been loaded with talent both young and old the last few years and cant get over the hump? Team is filled with some egos and look at me superstar attitudes and not a very cohesive unit. Think Freshman and Jv coaching staff allows this type of attitude early and it stays with kids in varsity level.
  6. Real simple question since you know soooo soooo much about the Dixie program, is the kid that played right field last night a better option then the kid who played Lf. If the kid in lf was as good in that spot, then why did he not play there everytime he played a position vs. just being the DH/C? The coaches may have had a luke warm valid point to include another bat in line up but they had the wrong spots for these two outfielders. If you dont agree on that, you are clueless to how game is played. I know varsity thought enough of last nights rf that he got to some up for a pinch running role with them(speed). I didnt see that to be case with dh/C/Lf, weakest outfielder normally plays where, RF! Not LF genius aka baseball wanna be and your credentials would fit on the back of a matchbook I am sure! Same guy that said Dixies Freshman coach wasnt a clown? you get what you pay for and since freshman coach makes nothing, he is overpaid!
  7. RF played Lf almost every game of season. Coaches tried to add extra bat in line up by putting usual Dh in Lf. those two should have been flipped. NKU not sure what level you have played at or coached at, but for not being there, you have very strong and incorrect opinions and assesments. Seems like most of your post on here are very one sided and usually happens with someone who never got to play game at higher level, this is your chance to shine
  8. Kid pitched a great game and Connor team is well coached. The infield fly deepth ball where Dixie kid was thrown out at plate was turning point. Poor decision and rally killer.
  9. RF is normal Lf, kid at Dh had not done it all season, first time they Dh for position player(1st base) tried to work in what was supposed to be another hitter and it back fired, that's what you call over managed and wasn't necessary. Also had best hitter on time sac but instead of swinging and trying to bust game open. Team needed swing in momentum and coaches couldn't recognize. Don't get me wrong, team is coached by to class guys but over thought process.
  10. Bottom line, poorly coached game. Team beat st Henry without being over managed. Team beat Conner twice this year without all the slick lineup moves present in last nights game. Kids on base could have easily stolen second base as strong wind blowing right in catchers face and no strongest of arms. DH got nothing done and agree about long ball but at that point if you are not going to play game aggressively, worth a shot a either 1st baseman hitting a deep ball. Coaches did not put best lineup on field and outsmarted themselves
  11. Dixie Jv loses to Conner. Conner team well coached and Dixie overcoached. Coaches put together worst lineup/game plan of season. Never tried to steal a base resulting in at least 3 double plays, Dh for 1st baseman, DH strikes out 3 times. Put back up catcher and everyday DH in left field for first start of year on windiest day of year resulting in 2 run error(felt bad for kid), when coach subbed, 1st baseman(only kid who could have hit long ball) was put in the previous 1st basemans non hitter spot on order. Had runner tag from third on a ball that was closer to infield fly than it was real fly ball resulting in a double play. Dixie kids had no chance considering all these moves. Conner played well and deserved the victory
