Junior and Bonds. Trout is a guy who can make baseball must watch TV. It's a shame he has to be in the west coast.
-
Beltre is 36, don't know if he will make it to 40 and still be able to play every day.
He has been a late bloomer in his career which is unfortunate. If he played in his mid 20's like he has in his early 30's he'd definitely be in.

Hawkins going to TOR as well... Reyes has to be getting flipped to another team, this makes zero sense
-
Confirmed, Reyes and minor leaguers to the Rockies. Weird trade
-
And they still have Reyes, don't they?
Watching MLB network now. Rosenthal says it would almost have to include Reyes to the Rockies. But the return has not been confirmed and is not known.
-
Tulo has been traded to the Blue Jays. That came out of nowhere
-
Betlran was traded and that was 10 years ago.
Shields yes. Butler isn't a high-level player.
So they've let one guy walk and traded 2 others they knew they couldn't bring back. How is that different than what the Reds have done with the likes of Cueto and (in the offseason) Latos?
The original point I believe was that they don't resign their players. They always have traded them when their value was at their highest and didn't suffer financially.
The Reds signed Phillips, and Votto to contracts that will handcuff them for years still. I still like the Votto deal, it had to be done IMO, but that means the Phillips deal shouldn't have even been considered.
-
I'm drawing a blank...Who are the high-level players that KC has let walk recently?
Greinke, honestly that trade is why they are where they are today.
-
If they trade Cueto, Chapman, Leake, Pena, Byrd and Schumaker, I think they hold on to Bruce. I'd rather they trade BP before Bruce.
In all reality, I think the Reds hold on to Leake & try to re-sign him. I think they also keep Bruce.
I think they should trade Leake. Then try and resign in the offseason. It's no guarantee they can ink a deal, but it is a garauntee they can at least get back a couple solid prospects.

It was said on Twitter in fact it was Bubba Starling who's medicals didn't clear. Reds were super high on him and it couldn't work out. That stinks as he could be a really good OF in the MLB in the near future.
-
It's just nice to see this team is now trying to head into a certain direction. The past two years have been miserable as they were just treading water and trying to patch holes into a sinking boat. They are trying now, and I can get behind that.
-
Now I have absolutely no facts to back this up but I'm thinking he's a 11-13 mill guy.
And for a team that will be out of it next year, they aren't in position to pay a close that money. He is the guy that has to be traded the most now.

Heard that the Reds offered Cueto & Chapman to the Dodgers for Puig & Corey Seager. Obviously LA declined. Interesting offer, though.
I like where there head was at. At least swing for the fences and try to make a home run. But they settled with probably the best deal possibly they could get.
-
I would say so. I cannot remember, does he also interpret for Chapman?
I think he's an assistant trainer so I'd assume he stays.
-
He's in the lineup today so let's see if anything gets done that has the Reds pull him.
One of my favorite parts of this week is when guys get traded mid game.
-
Mets want Bruce, they're scouting him heavily right now.

Three Minor League LHP's :ohbrother: , one of them with have had Tommy John Surgery in his past .....all for one of the best RHP in baseball. :meh:
BAD deal .... no front line starter or MLB players at all ? The Reds will Always be Losers.
This isn't a video game. The Reds got the number 2 prospect for the Royals, a guy who could turn out to be a 3-5 starter, and a young rising lefty. For a Rental is was a great deal
-
After reading about it more, it seems like the Reds made out like a bandit for a rental player. Not many rentals return 3 top pitching prospects.
-
Reed has some great numbers and is only 19.

Even better, add the fact the Reds got 3 lefties. Nice deal for Walt. As much as I think he can't draft well at all, he has made really good trades his whole time here.
-
I'm excited about Finnegan and Lamb. Lamb has had a good AAA season this year and was once a big time prospect. Finnegan could be a stud if he figures out his control
-
We got screwed in this deal IMO
It's a good deal IMO. If the Reds traded him last season the return would have been huge. This is a solid return for a rental.
-
This is a mess
-
@chrisCotillo: Three lefties rumored to be involved in Cueto deal, via reports: Finnegan, Manaea, Lamb.
What... A... Haul if it all comes to fruition
-
What does that have to do with his post season last year? I asked a simple question related to Loogy's post. Did you even read that post?
How about the 2 inning performance against the A's? He was basically a college kid pitching in the Postseason.

It kind of worked for Cueto, but they can't let him out on that mound.
