Btw. I didn't intend on that being an insulting or slamming post. Its just an observers point of view that has worked with kids, dealt with parents and controversy. The kids seem to just not get the teaching moment or have to have hard lessons due to the adults that could have been avoided.

Trinity Alum is correct. I have observed this forum for awhile now. I am a former high school coach and BJ is getting thrown under the bus. He is absolutely a kid that got thrown into a perfect storm at St X and is paying dearly for it. There was such a ton of hype and bragging going on when he and his dad became Tigers. Obviously, no one had actually seen him play but still raised his game. The other parts of the storm are a new coach with controversial methods in becoming head coach, I may be mistaken but I believe 4 dad's are on staff (it was said that Carlos Phillips coaches) also the huge push to throw the ball with kids brought up in a different system while having proven monsters in the backfield. BJ didn't stand a chance with all that. Rip on the staff, the alumni, the administration, the chosen ones that threatened their their money if Glaser wasn't removed...it is an absolutely mess at St X. It isn't the kids fault, however. He is who he is- develop him, test him and then make the correct call for the team. Not the Dad, not the hype and not the passing game. Who gets the job done and has chemistry with the boys. That's pretty much the problem here Avid Tiger. It hit your alls program. It can happen to any team, any school and any sport when people believe the hype and have a controversial coaching situation.

Nor St X with this win. 5 to 6 plays for starters. Complaining from most on team about scheduling this game. Don't think anything was gained with scheduling this game. Fairdale was competitive in the past but seriously- what good was this game for the St X program?

If a Win/Loss record is your goal then yeah- schedule these games. I prefer program philosophies that challenge the team and kids even if it means a loss.
