On first and goal, Anderson is not about to get much, maybe one yard at best. QB keeper goes into the end zone for a touchdown. Extra point is good. Danville still leads 35-14 very late in the third quarter

2:43 to go in the third quarter. Anderson is up to the Danville 32. Anderson runs the ball for 9 yards on first down. On 2nd and 1, Anderson runs again to inside of the Admiral 10.

Anderson maintains some runs on first and second down that collectively go for 8 yards. On 3rd down and short they go to a power I and get an easy first down on the ground that goes for 4 yards.

Anderson takes the kickoff to their own 40. 4:24 is left in the quarter. Fun trivia: Danville has scored more points in their first two games of the season, only eclipsed by a team in 1928, at least according to Joe Mathis.

Danville goes into the I and Meaux quickly hits a hole and makes it into the end zone for a third score tonight. Garcia kicks another extra point through the uprights. Danville leads 35-7 in the third quarter

Anderson's drive starts from the four yard line and they barely avoid a safety. On 2nd and 12, a run goes for five yards. 3rd & 7 Anderson does misdirection but it only gets three yards. A flag flies for unsportsmanlike conduct on the Bearcats. On the ensuing 4th down, there is a botched snap and the Anderson punter is tackled on the three yard line. Admirals will take over there, starting their next drive with a first and goal.

Anderson is flagged for offsides on the defense. Admirals move to the 5 before they snap it on first down. Meaux takes a direct snap out of a Wildcat and gets into the end zone. But the Admirals are flagged for holding so it comes back. Cruver throws to Mylan Peters for a few yards. 2nd and goal from the 10 sees the Admirals go into shotgun and there is a screen pass to Gavin Baker (senior) that goes for three yards. 7:30 to play in the quarter. On 3rd down Meaux takes the ball up the middle and gets to the one yard line. In a power battle on the goalline Meaux fumbles when going to the outside so Anderson will take over on downs since the Ads were unable to punch it in.

Cruver scrambles forever in the backfield and finds Sellers for a first down to the Anderson 10.

Admirals start on their own 43 with 10:56 to play in the quarter. Meaux bounces outside and runs for a first down to the Anderson 29. Anderson calls timeout.

Anderson fields the kickoff and gets to their own 43 to start the second half. They start with a run by Eli McCann (junior) but Sellers with a hit to turn a potential touchdown into just a gain of 4 yards. Another run up the middle results in a fumble and the Ads recover. That is Anderson's second turnover of the game.

With 2.4 seconds to play, the Bearcats opt to kneel the ball. They will receive the kick to start the third quarter. Halftime: Danville 28, Anderson County 7

Cruver throws over the middle but it bounces off of Trinden Sellers' (senior) hands. 28 seconds left. 2nd down, Admirals in shotgun, and Cruver avoids the blitz. Deep ball is overthrown but it would not have mattered if it hit because Cruver was beyond the line where he threw. On 3rd down and 19 seconds left in the half the Admirals do another pass but it flies off of Sellers hands again. Admirals punt the ball with 13 seconds left in the first half. Punt bounces to the Anderson 25 before it is downed by the Ads.

35 seconds left in the half. Anderson drops back to pass on 4th & 10 but the QB is sacked by Lamireyan Wilhite (freshman), creating another turnover on downs and the Admirals get the ball on their own 39.

A pitch play goes for 6 yards but they are out of timeouts and only about 1:00 remains before halftime. Another quick run does not get much. Another pitch play results in a fumble, creating a 4th & 10. The Admirals call timeout to create a chance to get the ball back with some time left in the quarter if they can get a stop.

Anderson runs up the middle on 3rd & 2 and gets just past the marker, now they are inside of the Admiral 35.

On their next set of plays Anderson starts with a run to the outside of six yards, getting to the Admiral 39. Another run gets two yards. Before 3rd & 2 there is a timeout from the Admirals as a player is slow to get off the field. 1:25 is left in the 2nd quarter.

Anderson takes the kickoff to their own 43. Bearcats are back in the I-formation and run for six yards. 3:20 to go in the quarter. On 2nd down, Anderson is still in the I and gets into Admiral formation on a run for a first down.

Cruver avoids a sack and throws a deep bomb to Cam Peters on a deep corner route that goes for 45 yards for another quick Admiral score. Garcia converts another extra point. Danville is now in the lead 28-7 late in the 2nd Quarter

On the 4th & 1 on their own 45, the Bearcats go for a pass but it is incomplete and there is another turnover on downs. Questionable playcalling based on the progress on the ground.

Squib kick is fielded by Anderson but they do not get far, starting their next set of plays on their own 36. Anderson gets into I-formation and Hatfield runs for three yards. On second down, Anderson runs up the middle for another three yards. This brings up 3rd & 4 but the next run ends up a yard shy. Anderson is forced into another 4th down attempt. On 4th & 1 there is some miscommunication by the Bearcats before the snap so they call timeout.

Admirals get into shotgun with 6:55 left in the quarter. Gavin Baker (senior) gets a screen pass from Cruver for 67 yards for the Ads third touchdown of the game. Garcia notches another extra point. Danville extends the lead to 21-7 almost halfway through the 2nd Quarter

On 4th & 6, the Admirals stop Anderson when there is a dropped pass over the middle. Turnover on downs gives the Admirals the ball on their own 33.

Fullback runs up the middle goes for 3 yards for the Bearcats. Keep in mind that the Ads gave up 303 yards on the ground last week and Anderson seems to have learned that lesson. On 2nd down, Anderson gets 3 yards. 3rd & 4 on the Ads 31 sees Anderson do a toss to the outside but they lose two yards. On 4th & 6, Anderson calls a timeout to consider their options.

Anderson slowing the pace of the game, opting to chew clock to 10 seconds before getting to the line. They did this last year before breaking from that strategy. Their next run on 1st & 10 goes for four yards. They continue to bully the Ads on the lines. Another good run gets five yards. On 3rd & 1, Anderson picks up the yard for reset the chains. Hudson Hatfield (sophomore) does the run. Admirals call timeout Danville leads 14-7 but Anderson is marching down the field with 9:22 to play in the 2nd quarter

Anderson opts to go for 4th & 2 on their own 48. They hand it off and get it, gaining enough to get to the Admirals 49. The run was done by Aiden Edwards (senior).
