Fumbleitis is everywhere as Cruver fumbles the ball when he gets hit as he drops back to throw. Ads recover but they lose 8 yards. Cruver fires on 2nd down and it is nearly intercepted. Cruver manages to complete on third down and long to Sellers, obtaining a first down when it goes for about 20 yards.

Marion continuing to ground and pound, advancing the rock four yards via the fullback on 1st down to get into Admiral territory. On 2nd down, they fumble and the Admirals recover. The Ads will have the ball on Marion's 45 with 3:11 to play in the quarter.

Another run nets 4 yards for the Knights. Fullback run gets one yard. On 3rd & 5 from their own 45 sees Thompson complete another pass for a first down.

Marion initial pass goes nowhere. They gain five from a run. 3rd & 5 from their own 35 sees Thompson throw for a first down after faking a handoff to the fullback.

Cruver throws to the Marion 6 yard line to Baker. In a busted play, Meaux has the ball pitched to him and fumbles. Marion recovers, avoiding a potential running clock for the moment. There is 7:37 left in the third quarter.

Drive starts with an incomplete pass from Cruver to Sellers as the Ads go into playaction. Cruver throws a short pass for 2 yards. Then on 3rd & 8 a screen pass to Sellers goes to the Marion 15 for a first down.

Marion tries to go for the fullback run but it is stuffed for a 2-yard loss. A run to the outside gets 10 yards before being stopped by Sellers. On 3rd & 2 Thompson overthrows his intended receiver. Marion elects to go for it on their own 39 but they are flagged for illegal shift. That turns things into a 4th & 7 on their own 34 but they still opt to go for it and Thompson is stopped on a run before he gets to the first down marker. Admirals will take over the ball on the Marion 36.

Marion takes the kickoff to start the second half to their own 31.

Thompson throws a deep ball but it does not get near the end zone. Halftime: Danville 34, Marion County 7

Another fullback run is followed by offsetting personal foul penalties. Marion calls timeout to think of their options with about 2 seconds left in the half.

Marion does a run up the middle for 10 yards to move the chains.

Marion takes the kickoff to their own 36 yard line.

Option play from Cruver to Meaux goes to the house, giving him a fourth touchdown. Kick is good again. Danville leads 34-7 with 37 seconds left in the second quarter.

As the clock ticks down, Meaux runs for 8 yards on first down. Admirals take their second timeout with about 44 seconds left in the quarter.

Meaux dragging defenders on his runs and Marion is flagged for something. Ads on the Knights 25.

Squib kick does not allow the Ads to have much of a return and they start their next drive on their own 25. Cruver hits a completion for ten yards but an illegal shift calls it back as the Ads keep getting penalties. He is sacked on the next play. Meaux races for a big gain, setting up a 2nd and 2. Meaux makes another big run after that, getting into Marion territory past their 35 yard line.

Another run is stopped in the backfield for a loss of one yard. Thompson throws a 35-yard touchdown strike right after and that puts the Knights on the board. Ads were soft in coverage and it got exploited. Knights kick is good. Danville still leads 27-7 with 4:56 left in the second quarter.

Run by the Marion fullback goes for two yards. Option play gains 5 yards. On 3rd & 4, Marion goes back to the fullback for a first down that gets to the Ads 35.

Marion quickly gets to the 50 with their running game on the first play after kickoff.

Ads mix it up by going with a pass from Cruver to Mylan Peters but there is another holding call against the Ads. So the ball is placed at the Marion 24. Ads get flagged again when Cruver tries to pass so the Ads back up again to the 34. Ads have gotten flagged way too much in this half but have been rescued by explosive plays. Cruver tries a throw to Baker but it is incomplete. And another explosive play, almost like an old D'Mauriae VanCleave special as Cruver throws a quick strike in space to Meaux and he races to the end zone for his third touchdown of the game. Kick is good. Danville leads 27-0 with 7:18 to play in the second quarter.

Meaux with another run to the Marion 20, continuing to be a force of nature that Marion cannot stop. This time he runs between the tackles to get where he needs to go.

Danville is backed up 10 yards on yet another holding call. Meaux erases the penalty with a run to the Marion 35 for a first down.

A second down run goes for a loss. Before a 3rd & 10 from the 30 yard line Marion calls timeout. After that timeout Marion throws to the flat but that goes nowhere too. Marion goes for it on 4th down but Thompson is sacked by Bryston Caldwell when scrambling before he can find a receiver. Turnover on downs gives the Ads the ball on the 27 with 10:27 to play. Danville calls timeout before their next drive starts.

Marion marches to the Admirals 29 with some misdirection in the running game. They advance a few more yards on a 1st down run and that is the end of the quarter. End of First Quarter: Danville 20, Marion County 0
