I know the way that series ended made the Boyle faithful mad (and for good reason). But I'm fine with playing them back-to-back at their stadium if that's what it takes to get it back on the schedule. There are RPI considerations too that have to be weighed. I'm hoping community demand will force it to be brought back and I also hope that new leadership in Danville at the top that has filtered through the system will produce some change here.

Post-game notes: -Danville goes to 2-0, Knox Central goes to 1-1 -Danville's next opponent is hosting Anderson County (1-1) and it will be Bate night at Admiral Stadium. Knox Central will travel to South Laurel (1-1) -According to my quick research (which could've missed something) Danville has not scored this many points in a game since an October 15, 2004 victory against Trimble County, which was a 77-0 rout back in the Sam Harp days.

Onside kick is a recovery by the Admirals and the Ads opt for that to be the end of the game. Final Score: Danville 72, Knox Central 42

Running clock is activated as well, so that should wrap up the game soon. Knox gets a big run to start their new possession. Officials kill time talking about a block in the back that is called back. Ball now on the Admiral 28. Another run takes it inside of the Admiral 5 yard line. Another run by Knox gets in the end zone. TOUCHDOWN. Knox kicks the extra point as the clock has stopped after the score even though it should keep going. Danville's lead is now 72-42 with 55 seconds to go in the game

Cruver on a naked boot takes it to the end zone. A flag is thrown but it is on the Panthers and the Ads decline it. Garcia's extra point fails Danville extends again 72-35 with a few minutes left in the game.

Beasley is in as the Ads running back and he gets a first down in two runs. Beasley goes to the outside and makes a big gain for 30-40 yards. A flag is thrown but it is picked up. Now it is in the redzone of the Panthers. Admirals march down to the Panthers 2. Meaux is back in but just as a distractor. Saivon Johnson (sophomore) gets a few carries within the 5 yard line out of a power-I but does not find the end zone. Beasley gets the handoff next but is stopped at the one. There is an official timeout as he is cramping. Ha, didn't mean to suggest that you did! Both teams defenses weren't doing too well to start this game so the scoreboard is breaking!

Stonebreaker opts to take Meaux out of the game with about 8:00 to go in the game. I'm doing some quick research and the Ads haven't scored this many points since late 2012 in the second to last game that Sam Harp coached for the Ads in the playoffs vs. Betsy Layne.

Knox Central is stymied on three plays from scrimmage after the kickoff and they decide to punt the ball. The Admirals decide not to pick it up and the punt is downed at their own 26.

Ford runs for 4 yards on 2nd down. At this point the Admirals want to milk the clock. Meaux gets a pitch on third down and rushes to the Knox Central 25 for a first down. Meaux breaks a run up the middle and scores for the third time in the game (and throwing for another). Garcia gets the kick. Danville leading 66-35 with 10:19 to go in the game.

Meaux gets a pitch out of the I-formation to get to the 40 yard line of the Panthers for a medium sized gain. And that finally brings a long third quarter to an end. End of Third Quarter: Danville 59, Knox Central 35

Knox Central starts their next drive on their own 36. Sizemore rushes for 3 yards to start the drive. Carey overthrows a receiver on 2nd down. A run to the outside on 3rd down is contained by the Admirals for 3 yards. A quick snap after the Ads don't jump is stopped by Braiden Ford (sophomore) before it reaches the first down marker so there is a turnover on downs.

Panthers will start their next drive on their own 35 after their kickoff return does not go far. Carey avoids a sack and throws the ball downfield on first down but it is INTERCEPTED by Mylan Peters, who is doing a little bit of everything tonight. On a short field (announcers never say where), the Admirals run a trick play as Meaux passes to Cam Peters for a TOUCHDOWN. Garcia makes the extra point Danville now leads 59-35 with about 2 minutes left in the 3Q

Knox tries an onside kick and nearly recovers it. Zane Knott (junior) gets his hands on it. Admirals start in the I-formation and there is a fumble. Cruver is able to get it and then the Panthers get called for a facemask on the tackle because it rips Cruver's helmet off. That moves the ball 15 yards. Meaux gets good blocks and runs down the middle of the field to the house. TOUCHDOWN. He notches his second score of the game. Meaux goes down with a cramp and other players are cramping too with the heat tonight. Admirals get a delay of game on the extra point. But Garcia still makes it. Danville pushes the lead back out to 52-35 with 2:32 to play in the 3Q

Knox Central takes the kickoff reception to their own 38 yard line to start their next drive. Knox tries to go deep immediately but even though their receiver was wide open the pass is overthrown. A run does not get the ball far. 3rd & 8 results in a screen pass and the Admirals are flagged for roughing the quarterback. Starting a new set of plays, Knox gets 6 yards from a pass. Another draw play gets the ball to the Admiral 14. Knox overthrows a ball near the red zone and the Admirals are flagged again, this time for pass interference. Knox lines up in the I-formation and on a run play that comes up short, the Admirals are flagged for a facemask. 1st down is repeated at the 2 yard line. Reed is hit hard but makes it to the end zone. TOUCHDOWN. Panthers opt to go for 2 to reduce the Admiral lead to 10 points. Out of the shotgun the Panthers QB Eli Carey (sophomore) hits a quick strike that is good. Danville's lead narrows to 45-35 with 2:55 left in the 3Q

Meaux takes the ball on a speed option for a bit of a gain but then the Panthers are flagged for unnecessary roughness for hitting Cruver after he gave up the ball. That moves the ball to the Panthers 21. Meaux takes the ball to the outside and rushes to the Panthers 7 for a first down. Cruver keeps the ball and scrambles into the end zone. TOUCHDOWN. Garcia kicks the ball through the uprights as the timing is corrected. Danville extends the lead further 45-27 with less than 6 minutes to go in the 3Q

On 4th and 6, Jutayvion Beasley (senior) busts through the line and sacks the Knox Central QB, giving the Admirals the ball on the Panthers 43.

Knox Central takes the kickoff goes to their own 45 yard line. Sizemore's run on first down gets 4 yards. Sizemore gets the ball again for about a yard. On 3rd and 5 Reed is given the ball and is brought down before reaching the first down marker. On 4th and 1 Knox opts to go for it but before they run a play a flag is thrown for sideline interference (warning was issued in the 1st quarter). Backs them up five yards. They take a timeout to think of their choices on 4th & 6. When Knox decides to put their team back on the field to go for it, Danville calls timeout Danville leading 38-27 with 6:44 in the 3Q

Mylan Peters gets a 35 yard kickoff return, starting the Admirals on their 43 yard line. Drive starts with a screen pass to Meaux that goes for a short gain. Meaux then runs it for 5 yards to create a 3rd and 1. On that down Meaux fights forward to get the first down. Mylan Peters takes a pass from Cruver and goes all the way to the end zone for about 40ish yards. TOUCHDOWN. That is his third score of the game. Garcia misses the extra point as the Ads timing remains an issue there tonight. Ads bleeding points off the scoreboard with these. Danville extends the lead again 38-27 with 9:00 left in the 3Q

Knox Central takes the ball to the 40 on the kickoff that starts the second half. Panthers throw another deep pass down the sideline and they are back on the Admiral 5 yard line. Danville has to plug this gap or the Panthers are going to exploit this the rest of the evening. Sizemore runs into the end zone, allowing Knox Central to score in two plays. TOUCHDOWN. Extra point fails because of a bad snap. Danville still leads 32-27 with 11:19 to go in the 3Q

On 2nd and 21 from their own 21, the Admirals empty the backfield for a screen to Sellers but Knox snuffs that out. The 3rd down pass to Zane Knott (junior) is good enough for a completion and first down, giving the Ads a chance to do a hail mary chance. On the last play of the half, Cruver throws the ball deep toward the end zone and Cam Peters (junior) catches it. TOUCHDOWN. Admirals try another 2 point conversion but it does not work. Halftime: Danville 32, Knox Central 21

Knox Central's squib kick goes out of bounds. Danville makes them re-kick like they did earlier in the game. But this is a messier return as it goes between Sellers and Peters and then when Peters get it he is only able to get the ball to the Admiral 13. Meaux runs for 5 yards but he is blown up on a pass play. A flag is thrown after that, which penalizes the Panthers for unsportsmanlike conduct. Cruver is sacked to start the next set of plays and the Admirals call timeout. Danville still leads 26-21 with 35 seconds left in the 2Q

Knox Central gets a good return to the 45 yard line. Knox pass incomplete but their second one is complete and goes all the way down to the Admirals 5. Admirals defense has struggled not to give up these big gains in some way for much of the game so far. 1st and goal goes nowhere for Knox. On 2nd and goal Sizemore punches it in. TOUCHDOWN. Extra point is good. Big answer for Knox because they get the ball to start the 2nd half. Danville still leads 26-21 with 1:04 to go in the 2nd Q

Admirals start their drive on their own 14. Meaux gets some decent runs to get a 3rd and 2 situation and then Knox Central jumps offsides. But then the Ads go back from that gain with a false start. Meaux overcomes that, busting a big run to the Admirals 40. Mylan Peters takes a screen pass for another first down. Sellers takes a pass for 5 yards as the Admirals are settling into a rhythm and moving up the field. Meaux follows up by taking the ball to the Knox Central 30. Knox is having a tough time tackling Meaux, having to use nearly all of their defenders to bring him down. Sellers takes a pass, possibly cramping, but still runs into the end zone. TOUCHDOWN. After a water break for the players and tending to an injured Panther (Landen Daughtry, senior), who is having trouble standing, the Ads elect to go for two. The pass to the flat to Jeremy Moore (junior) falls incomplete. Danville extends their lead to 26-14 2:39 in the 2Q

On 4th down, Knox overthrows a pass intended for the end zone and the Admirals will take over on downs.

Knox hands the ball to their fullback and it barely gets them the first down. Next play is a big pass play by Knox that moves the ball into the Admiral 15 yard line. Knox speeds up but Reed is tackled on the edge after 3 yards. Sizemore takes the ball next and is tackled after 1 yards. On 3rd and 6, Knox's fullback gets nowhere after Mylan Peters tackles him. On 4th down, Knox calls their last timeout to talk about their options. Danville still leads 20-14 in the 2Q
