  1. Nice win Raiders. Good luck to CC the rest of the year, keep fighting.

FTN I did want to say (before all this nonsense started)that I was extremely impressed with Morgan. Kid is a flat out gamer and kept several drives alive with his feet and scrambling to find the open receiver. He definitely has that "it" factor.

  2. While RaiderRailBird is being rather pompous in his/her delivery, I think his message is pretty accurate. I thought with the facilities, the CCYFL and an up and coming coach that the Camels would have turned the corner by now. I love me some Camels football but it is has been full of excuses since well before I played there about why they aren't competitive. I wish they were, I wish they had made deep playoff runs but they don't and have never been able to sustain any true level of sucess. IMO sports at CCHS has never truly had the full support of the administration, school board or the community. In fact the only State Champion coach they had was forced to chose between coaching and being an AD. This is probably a topic for another thread but I don't think RRB is incorrect about this topic even though it stings to hear. Go Camels!

Wrong. Not the only one. They have a state championship in track and softball also with several wrestling state championships. They have more state championships than Ryle has runner up trophies. We are not looking through the window at the dance we are dancing wif yo dates.

  3. Correct, you aren't guaranteed anything, but at some point in order to get to a state championship game, and or have a deep run in the playoffs, seniors are what gets you there, not sophomores. BTW last year CC had the most Seniors in NKY on it's team, I'm sure you'll still have an excuse for not winning though.

Who's making excuses? Just keep beating on your chest Tarzan. Remind me of a cricket that chirps all day long when things are going good but as soon as something bad is near the cricket keeps quiet and hides.

  4. FYI friend

    Ryle

SK ALL 3 have played in a state championship game,

    Dixie

    CC= ZERO

My point is, with all the players CC has year in year out, at some point they should have reached, or at least gone deep into the playoffs, which they never do, which is a fact! :thumb:

FYI: We don't have huge numbers in the Junior or Senior class this year and I will agree that we should of gone deeper in the playoffs several years but the bottom line is you have as many State championships as we do. Zero. Don't leave that fact out if we are going by facts.

  5. OK, then what in the world happened to last years team with 28 seniors? That's my whole point! CC is an underachieving program, with the amount of players it has, each and every year, period! :idunno:

Your not guaranteed squat with 28 seniors. Last year Dixie was the best NKY 6A team. 2013 SK was the best 2012 and 2011 Campbell County won districts and we are the ones underachieving? Don't sprain your wrist patting yourself on the back because you still have to get thru SK to get that district title.

  6. Everybody forgets that we graduated 28 seniors last year and returned only 3 starters this year. You don't need 4 years of a Harvard education to figure out this would be a down year. Grades 7 thru 10 have good numbers and some exceptional athletes. Camels just have to keep working, learning and getting better. When we do get back up, we will do it with class, honor and integrity.

  7. Amazing how some get on here and beat on their chest when things are going good and kick the teams that are down. Let's not forget 2 years ago when Ryle was 2-9 and never scored over 20 points in a single game. Good for Ryle that they have a good wave of talent and have went from the bottom of the hill to the top, they've earned it but do it with class. You were right where the Camels are 2 short years ago. Don't forget what it took to climb to the top of the hill, you weren't just dropped off on the top. But don't kick us when we're down cause the wolf at the bottom of the hill is hungrier than the wolf at the top.

  8. The key is the high school coach has to be involved with the feeder teams. Talking/encouraging the coaches and players and showing your face at games goes a long way with the younger kids. Not a huge fan of running the same O and D as the high school. I would rather have incoming freshman with good fundamentals rather than poor fundamentals but they know the O and D terminology. Everybody involved has to be on the same page from top to bottom. High school coaches should have a vested interest in their feeder programs.

  9. Remember when Don Weber covered High School sports and they had a clip 10 minutes til every hour on ICN-6

Remember when the only thing on TV Sunday mornings worth watching was The Monkees or The Three Stooges

Remember this week in baseball and the game of the week

Remember Wide World of Sports and the Disney movie of the week

  10. The score is from the update thread.

Certainly a fast start for Coach Eviston. And it looks like another down year for Campbell.

    Anyone?

Cov Caths first 3 possessions started inside Camel territory and they took advantage of it by punching it in on all 3 drives. It was 20-0 before anyone blinked. Halftime score was 23-0 Colonels. Camels played better in the 3rd and was at least able to sustain a long drive and score and the defense played better in the 3rd. Varsity score was 23-7 after 3 and the colonel JV punched it in 2 more times in the 4th to bring the final to 37-7. Cov Cath looked fast and both teams made mistakes but correctable mistakes. I believe both teams came out healthy and the scrimmage showed what they to both need to work on.

  11. Does anyone remember the Pippen kid from O'Cath around 1986? Man that guy threw hard. He threw a 1 hitter against us. I had 1 AB, I tried to drag bunt and lined one back at him. May have been the hardest hit ball we had all day.

Mike Pippin. I played with him my frosh year in college. Hard thrower with an unbelievable 12-6 hook. He left midway through the year for some reason. We had a fantastic pitching staff that year. We had Pippin, Steve Dixon from Louisville who was in the Cardinals organization, Rick White from Springfield Ohio pitched for 10-12 years in the Majors. Last I talked to Rick he was the pitching coach at Wittenburg.

  12. Camels will be tough this year with a deeper bench and a year under their belt with coach Menefee. Key this year will be staying healthy and continuing to play unselfish basketball. Last year the Camels had 4 frosh on the floor at times. They will once again be fun to watch and coach Menefee will have them ready.

  13. Thanks for all the help. I got the roof tarped off yesterday before the storms hit but it was not fun fighting the wind. Talked to the neighbor and we both agreed that this wasn't worth going through insurance companies on either side. We are going to fix it and split the cost which shouldn't be much. Thanks to all that helped.

  14. Called my insurance and they tell me that the tree was on their property and their insurance is responsible. Bet the neighbors insurance will tell them something different. Neighbor is a good dude and I'd rather not go thru the insurance company (his or mine) I like birdbrains idea, I think my neighbor and I will fix it over some cold ones and burn the wood. Man, Mother Nature is being a true blue ..... This year.

  15. Neighbors tree is dead and falls into my yard damaging my shed. Does their insurance cover it or is it an act of God and my insurance cover it? Also if a tree (alive) in my yard damages a neighbors house who's responsible? I posted the dead and alive because I was told it matters but not 100% sure. Is it different with a shed and a house? Thanks in advance for any help!
