Ratings for final round of 2017 Masters: 7.6

    U.S. Open: 3.6

    Open: 3.2

    PGA: 3.6

    2018 Valspar: 5.1

Wow, that is crazy...the Valspar final round had higher ratings that 3 majors last year. If Tiger is in the hunt, the Masters' ratings has to go over 10 this year, right??

  2. Golf is just way more interesting when Tiger is playing good.

No truer words have ever been spoken...

The thing I like the most is that he really seems healthy now. In his past comebacks, you could tell he was still favoring things...not now...he seems to holding nothing back. I hope he stays healthy because if he is healthy, he has a gear no other player on the PGA tour has...will be fun to watch...

  3. Too many award shows.

    No blockbuster movies.

Trend is that ratings for live shows are declining.

People are tired of the political shtick of actors and athletes.

Too many other entertainment options on other platforms.

Too long and not really that entertaining.

I think many (me included) just get sick of an industry that has SO MANY award shows to tell each other how great they are...the political stuff bugs me too...I just don't care what actors and athletes think about politics in general...and I firmly believe all actors and athletes have a right to say what they want regarding politics but I have a right to not care nor listen...

  4. In 2001-02 The Big East was ranked the 6th best league.

    2002-03 and 2003-04 it was 4th.

    2007-08 it was 4th.

It had fits of being ELITE, for sure, but it wasn't always. In 2012-2013, the last year it had 15 teams (too many, by the way, creating schedule imbalance, but, what do I know), it was 2nd -- with UL a 1-seed and Georgetown a 2-seed. Since then, the Big East has been ranked 5th, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd. But again, what a terrible league.

Let's be real, no one misses South Florida and Rutgers, and Pitt has become comically bad. This year, ALL 10 Big East teams are in the KenPom's Top 100. Think about that. In 2012-13 there were also 10 Top 100 teams, and then 5 that weren't in the Top 100.

It was great then, often THE BEST, and sometimes really good. This current version is nothing to sneeze at.

I think that the Big East may be the best conference in the country in how well matched the teams are. I like the similarities...all inner city, all private, all basketball only (or if the school does have football, it is non-scholarship - eg: Butler). Basketball is clearly the BIG DOG on every Big East campus. The schools just fit together and the league works.

  5. The boys and I loved "The Greatest Showman". The performance of This is Me was great. I wish it would have won for Best Song.

Loved that movie! I really liked a bunch of the songs...A Million Dreams, The Other Side, From Now On, This is Me, Rewrite the Stars...probably in that order...just a lot of great songs in that movie IMO...

  6. I would take either's future but as far as golf goes, I would take Thomas. I just think JT has a gear that Jordan does not have...and I LOVE Spieth. Spieth is much more dependent on his putter though. JT can beat you with his putter or with his power. Again, I love them both and Spieth has about a two year head start on JT in terms of winning majors but I think if we start counting major wins and tournament wins right now, JT wins more in the future.

  7. Conference championship game will end 45 mins before the selection show next Sun...won't play a factor in their seed, win or lose, IMO, as long as they make it to Sunday. See SMU and UC both getting a 6 seed last year as a perfect example despite SMU clearly being the better team.

As far as their conference, tired of hearing they play in a bad conference. Three top 25 teams (more than the Big East, tied with SEC) and the wins over other P5 teams that teams in this conference have says otherwise. Temple beat the SEC #1 seed, in case you forgot, and SMU beat the Pac 12 #1 seed and regular season champ by double digits. Inconsistent is a better word to describe some of the teams.

    Saw this on another board:

Avg computer ranking: UC 8.3 - Mich St 8 (as of Fri.)

    Tier 1 wins: UC 5 - MSU 3

    Tier 2 wins: UC 8 - MSU 5

    Tier 1 Losses: UC 4 - Mich St 4

    Tier 2 - 4 Losses: 0 - 0

    SOS: UC 68 - MSU 84

Non Conf SOS: UC 148 - MSU 218

Going off of that, Mich St is a lock for a 2 seed but yet UC must win out??

UC gets a 2 seed whether they finish at 29-5 or 30-4, for the same reason X likely gets a 1 seed...other teams continue to lose and they get rewarded for winning.

I am a big UC fan...but tell me you are not saying that you think UC's conference is as good or better than the Big East or SEC?? The reason that the Big East has only 2 or 3 top 25 teams is that they beat up on each other. In the Big East, you play 18 conference games and can lose 16-18 if you don't play well. The only gimmes in the league were DePaul for the whole season and St. John's early (before they got much better late beating Duke and Nova). UC had 10-12 games in conference this season that they only had to show up for to win. Again, I LOVE UC and hope they go to the Final Four, but their conference was weak this year. Temple and UCONN (and Memphis) being down have really hurt the conference A LOT.

  8. 26 years and same. So frustrating. My former brother-in-law, who is still a good friend, can't break a 100 with a foot wedge...and he has one. So. Aggravating.

About 25 years ago at the Mill Course (#8 from the back tees - 215 yards over water), my foursome scored 1,2,3,4. I was the 1:). I told the guys after the hole when I was writing the scores that we would never ever meet anyone else in our lives that could say that they played in a foursome who did that...

BTW, I lost the hole-in-one ball on #11...lol...

  9. The state of the general public's "trust" in ESPN is pretty low. Saw a twitter poll this morning that over 2/3 of people believed Miller was telling the truth and ESPN was lying. That's unreal. 2/3 of people don't believe a "sourced" report about a college basketball coach cheating.

The fact that ESPN is already backing off of some of the report leads me to believe more may be wrong as well. If you are going to come out and say the FBI has Miller on a wiretap saying what is alleged about Ayton and you are already now saying it was not about Ayton, that is a HUGE swing and miss. This is no minor issue. I wish Ayton could sue ESPN and the reporter but it is very difficult to win these sorts of lawsuits.

  10. From what I'm hearing Schalbach has never heard the wire taps, and doesn't even have a transcript of what was said. Interesting part is he's claiming the tap is from after Ayton was already enrolled at Arizona, plus Dawkins had nothing to do with the kid to even remotely be involved in getting him money to go to Zona. This one is going to get interesting on a lot of fronts. Buckle up...

Miller vehemently denied everything in his presser today and Zona is letting him coach the rest of the season. They must believe him as well. I wonder if we may have some "fake news" here. I hope so because I always thought Miller was a decent dude...
