Not discounting Barker in anyway the kid went D-1 for a reason, but it's unfair to compare a QB from JV only play to a QB that was strictly Varsity from day 1.

You're right, you can't compare Martin with Barker. Barker had all the great players surrounding him. It's easy to look good when you have a line that blocks and receivers that can catch just about everything you throw to them. Most of the time he had plenty of time to get the ball off as for Martin, he had the total opposite always running for his life cause no-one blocked and his receivers would catch the ball 1of 3 times when thrown to them. Everyone knows the JV team is the last thought, they get all the hitting dummies in practice. The varsity players think it's a slap in the face if they have to play down. So yes you're right you can't compare them. The coach would never play Barker down and you really don't know how good Martin is cause he never got to play with those surroundings.

Out with the old, and in with the new. There will be a lot of new talent hitting the field this year not just at Qbs but other positions as well. If you have to compare to make you feel better, then go ahead. I think some of these new faces will surprise us all.

Moving up to 6A doesn't really worry me, I firmly believe the old adage any given Friday. Until playoffs that is.........

Drew was a great QB and will continue to make a name for himself at the next level, I believe given the opportunity Martin will do just as well...the kid has talent with a line and receivers he will accomplish great things.

Jeff Martin is the starting QB this year, Boyd is a great athlete and will definitely be an asset to the team. Boyd was often used at corner last year and this may very well be where he is again this year.

That is correct hopefully he brings his A game this year and shows all the people that have doubts about Conner getting anywhere this year. He definitely has the abilities but can't do it himself. The team looked really good during Spring Ball and I can't wait to see them when the season starts. Coach will have his team ready. Can't Wait!!

Rumor has it, losing some of our great players. Both Romeys and maybe the Warrick brothers. As a father of a player on the team, why let them quit now? This is their time to shine, not one person taking all the credit for everything. I think this could be a great year for Conner but these players need to stick it out.

Jeff Martin is Qb, the running backs are Ryan Romey Tyler, Jacob, there are a couple more not sure who they are. Today was the last day for Spring Ball, it was a great scrimmage, Jeff Martin look really good. He moved right down the field and kept putting the ball in the end zone. The team look good but there is still a lot of work to do. Hopefully the team stays healthy and no injuries. Go Cougars!!!

Conner has looked pretty good during spring ball. Qb looks good running the ball has a nice arm too. The running backs are tough and have nice moves. I think the team will come together really good and surprise a lot of people. Go Cougars!!!

JV is 2-2 with losses to SK and Ryle, QB was out these two games due to an injury, wins the last two weeks against Campbell County and Scott.

I think Conner will win by a touchdown. Conner has been playing pretty good since there starting QB has returned. Rumor is, he is taking Drew Barkers place as varsity QB next year. I guess time will tell. As for Saturday Good Luck to Both teams. Any other opinions on the game?

Two very well matched teams going head on, I'm going with the Cougars 14 to 12. It's gonna be a good game!!!
