  1. Through 4 innings Ryle was leading 6-0 and kept the Cooper bats quiet. Cooper scores 2 in the bottom of the 5th as the bats looked like they were warming up make it 6-2. Ryle comes back in the top of the 6th and scores 1 to make it 7-2. In the bottom of the 6 the Cooper bats really fired up and scored 7 in the bottom of the 6th. Ryle didn't recover and loses 9-7. Forbes really scorched the ball tonight and stood out, IMO, against the Cooper Pitching. Cooper had a lot of contributors hitting in the last 3 innings. Extra base hits came from Holland, Lawhorn and Dunn. McMahan comes in to get the W and hold the Raiders off.

  2. I just saw the same thing NKU. Guess I need to learn how to tweet to Chris.

Correction, according to the new PBR report today CCH is #6. Dixie is #5 and Beechwood is #20. Boone and Conner are listed on the bubble.

Someone from Cooper could always tweet the results to @PBRKentucky.

  3. The one thing that blows me away is that this is the 20th ranked team in the state and there is absolutely nothing in the Kentucky Preps results, PBR or anything. This I would think would be considered a huge upset. Am I to guess that this has something to do with reporting? CCH, Beechwood, Conner and Highlands are consistently in there when they win. Just wondering...

  4. Thank You CWB! I need to learn how to do this...:thumb:

Thanks for the stats, Big Cat. Here it is cleaned up in a table.

Sorry this came out so bunched up. Don't know really how to clean it up.

I'd have to say that the blue Colonels probably played mostly JV guys and rested their usual 9.
  6. Not going to take anything away from the the Tiger hitters, but if you think the Jags don't have a few of there own you would be mistaken. I know they have one in the mid 500's and a handfull in the mid 400's to upper 400's to 500. If Cooper's Ace is on, I would go with Cooper.

Cooper would have beaten Beechwood today. Give me both teams on equal rest, ace vs ace. I'll take Beechwood. Both aces are very good, but there are more hitters in the Tiger lineup.
  7. What does this mean Malibu?

Would have been like the Conner game, JV vs ace.

Pretty sure the reason isnt fear. Big bad Cooper scares a lot of people, but I doubt thats not the case. Would you really find value in beating a JV pitcher, which is what you would have seen tonight? Would have been like the Conner game, JV vs ace.
  8. I don't believe Beechwood is and I can assure you Cooper isn't either. I think if you look back in the History of the 2 teams they are about 500 against each other.

In regards to the Bellevue post, they were not even put on the schedule this year, so I don't know where you are coming off with that. We play Lloyd once this year and have played Highlands twice.

I can assure you Beechwood isn't afraid of Cooper.

Call Bellevue-you all seem to have a good relationship with them. Or Lloyd, or Highlands. You can only play so many games, and with Beechwood winning the all "A" state, it added more games to their schedule. this happens all the time in baseball and softball. If I was a 5A school, I would be scheduling up anyway, not down. Maybe Anderson in Ohio has an opening.

  9. I did go back on look on the schedule Hellbird and my above post is dead on.

I wouldn't think they are afraid, but with the expectations of winnig the A, they knew it would come down to this scheduled game also. This is a major bummer!

Beechwood just cancelled the game today. Guess they were too afraid of getting beat by Cooper in back to back games.

So now it's going on only 4 games in almost 3 weeks. (4 games in 19 days and counting)

    This sux!

  10. Cooper has played 6 games since April 16. The record of 7-9 is incorrect since they beat Boone in the Doc and beat the Wyandotte team that was after the 16th to make it 6 games played since the 16th. Since April 24th they have played 2.

  11. I agree with this Hellbird....but, pitchers need to stay sharp also by throwing, so less is not always better.

I'm sure he will. This is nothing at all against Coach Collins at all. The weather has been a problem as we all know, but the lack of games in the past 2 weeks leading up to the district tourney is worrisome.

Coach Collin's is the best thing to happen to Cooper Baseball in a LNG time. All the kids love playing for him and no favorites are shown at all which makes every player feel an important part of the team which is great. He will be very succesful at Cooper I believe.

What worries me are the bats. Cooper was one of the best hitting teams in the area but when you don't get your swings in you can see the bats become silent. In 2 of the last 3 games (St Henry and Ryle) the bats were silent and not playing but 1 game a week makes it hard to get in a rhythm IMO.

  12. That's fine for the future, but not for the now!

I would say be patient with that type of thing. Jeremy Collins, I am sure, will start to schedule more like Pat R does at Ryle. Ryle consistently plays a heavy schedule against good competition. I would think that Jeremy will do the same in future years. May already be in the works.
  13. Absolutely the most pathetic and non emotional game I've seen for a very long time. Cooper looked like they were just going through the motions. Hopefully weather will break and they can get things going. This was not the same team I've watched all year. Hats off to Ryle for getting the job done!
