Should be a great atmosphere. Good to see Highlands rebound. The recent past has been very poor. New Cath wins big, but it still should be fun.

Parker Harris 22/15 is awesome to hear, he is a top notch kid who works hard and has a great basketball IQ. Buten providing the big-time SR leadership hitting the big shots when they needed em in the 4th.
I thought Mitchell Cain played a very solid second half. Coach must have had a talk with him at half time. Very nice contribution by the soph.

Seems about right to me.
My only question would be SK. Lost 6 of 8 .
Not sure how that warrants top 10.
Brossart is better than Dixie.
-
Connor seems to be on the upswing. Could this be a trap game for NCC coming off back to back big games?
-
Mike Rambler is his name. Became a priest. Was a couple inches taller than Cowens, say 6-10, but not 7'.
Dern you Gerntz, I was just going to reply with that name.

I am predicting that this is cancelled just like all of the other games in the area.
Who makes that decision? I suppose the Board of Ed?
-
Who won the Cov Cath game vs NCC played at Cov Cath last month, or was that a fluke?
-
I predict that a team from Kenton County will win at least one of the two games.
-
If nothing else NCC is getting some practice in.
Is there any A team that will give them a strong game?
My guess is that Cordia / Brossart winner will play NCC in the finals.
NCC beat Cordia in dpuble OT in the Lex Cath holiday tourney.
-
Are you sure this is not an afternoon game?
-
First, congratulations to all that were honored on this list.
Second, how was this voted on? It appears the players were drawn from the teams in the quaterfinals with the exception of Cordia taking the place of Dixie as the 8th team.
And please note this is not a knock on Cordia or Christen Cunningham. Just a question of how this was decided.
Hatton from Dixie ???

WIT, Walter is an major asset to this site and has been since 2009. He has earned his stripes here and most of us who have been here a lot longer than Feb of 2013 respect his opinion.
While a Holmes fan and proud of his team and their accomplishments, he is also professionally unbiased and gives credit where due. While posting Holmes highlights, he will also share those of their opponents.
If I were covering the Dawgs and Bolden, I'd be giddy about him myself, he is that good.
Walter also possesses a broad-based knowledge of high school hoops not only here in Northern Kentucky but around the state and across the nation.
What he said Me too!

You going to be there?
LB 13 are you going to post updates on this site? I can't make the game but would like to access the game status including every possible stat available.

I'll head down to this one, looking forward to see the Snapp boy play!
I predict that Alex Trentman will play in this game!

If NCC is going to make a run, as it appears they will, then the crowd needs to begin to dress like the guy in the NCC hat. He is rocking the colors. I know we can't all be fashion divas but he has it down.
Which guy do you mean?

I'm no KY fan, so please don't mistake me for one...but wasn't Hall pretty much run out of town? Couldn't live up to "the legend" of Rupp. Was never appreciated the way he probably should have been while coaching. Only after he retired did fans start to endear themselves to him. Funny how people forget that.
Really!! And all this time I thought all he did was coach Kentucky for 14 seasons, winning 8 SEC championships, a NIT championship, 4 Final 4 Appearances, a National Runner-Up and a National Championship while being named SEC Coach of the Year 4 times and National Coach of the year. As far as being appreciated his banner is hanging in Rupp Arena and there is a life size bronze statue of him on campus. Just saying!!
-
I only heard that from a few black people that want to bring up thinks that we're supposed to have happen before they were even born. I never heard it from an overwhelming majority of people, including all white people who ever talked about it when I was near.
I said it in 97 and I still say it, Tubby was doomed from the start, you can't follow a legend and high profile coach and succeed. When Calipari retires it will be very difficult for any coach have success with the fans. You want to be the one who follows the guy who followed the legend.
How did Joe B Hall do following Rupp

We have new grandstands and pressbox. We even have real stadium lights like the big schools do. So everyone come on down Friday and be entertained. According to all the experts on here, it should be a blowout, so everybody up in NKY should be happy and relieved NCC is playing GC. Easy road to Bowling Green.
Could you post Gallatin Co's schedule with scores for this year?
-
Yes, wasn't a fan. Felt he had the talent to win the ninth the last three years and he didn't win one.
Three years ago Dixie was loaded. To say that NewCath should have defeated them is a real stretch.
-
I heard that soph Mitchell Caine may see some game action?
-
After speaking with a couple of coaches I suggest you add Cov Cath as a team that worries some folks as a potential spoiler to Holmes or New Cath's trip to Rupp.
I think NCC and Holmes are 1-2 with Cov Cath and Dixie not as far behind as others think.
The 9th is going to be fun to watch this year.
Too bad NCC and Brossart can't play at neutral site where fans can actually get in the game. Oh did I say that!!

The 16u Travelers had a solid tournament going 3-1. Keep in mind they were playing up an age division (17u). Saturday they finished up their pool by beating SOKY Hurricanes by 60 plus. The entire team was hitting on all cylinders.
They opened bracket play against KY Heat and again were very impressive scoring 106 points. At one point they went on a 41-1 run.
Next they played the Shining Stars in the round of eight. Travelers led the entire game and the Stars took their first lead with :40 to go in the game. Stars beat the Travelers 48-47.
Key Performers for the Trave
Jalen Perry (Ballard) - this kid had the most athleticism on the court and jumps out of the gym. He was able to run out and finish by getting to the rim. Led the team in scoring.
Drew McDonald (Newport Catholic) - Big Strong kid. Very fundamental footwork and most games was unstoppable once he got the ball down low. He even showed his versatility by hitting outside shoots including a 3. I watched the last game and the Travelers never got him the ball.
Tanner Jonson (LexCath) - Team sharp shooter. In the game versus the Stars I don't think he missed (at least four 3's).
Matt Rose (LCA) - Long and Athletic. Played well up until the last game. His minutes were limited (not sure why). He does a really nice job taking his guy off the dribble.
Overall the weekend was a success. Team needs better guard play and needs to expose mis-matches. They have a tendency to just run and gun taking the first shot instead of the best shot. With their athletic ability on the perimeter (Perry, Johnson and Rose) and McDonald down low they are a very good team with a tremendous future.
As always, thanks for the excellent update.

Big game Friday. Wonder if he will get in the face of the Highlands coach??
