  1. Which KY prep football program has made the most improvement in the past 10 years (since 2000)? Please provide an explanation with your answer.

John Hardin really doesn't fit this conversation. The Bulldogs went 3-7 in their opening season in 2001, and haven't had a losing season since. We're looking at teams that were easy wins (victims) in the 90s and have re-invented themselves in this decade... John Hardin really doesn't know what it's like to be downtrodden... The Bulldogs have a 71.3% winning percentage from 2001-2010 - which happens to be the entire history of the school.

ColonelMike, I read the original post. I'm no English scholar, but it appears that John Hardin, as well as LCA, fit the parameters of this thread's topic.

  2. John Hardin might be considered....

Opened in 2001 - went 2-9 or 3-9...something like that.

2009- lost to Highlands in state championship.

    Worthy choice.

    LCA is similar

    Varsity football began in 2001 - went 2-8, then 1-9 in 2002

2009 - Won state championship in Class A.

  3. On the bright side, Scout McCamy completed the most beautiful pass to Chad Snyder early in the 3rd Qtr. Snyder got 5 yds behind the defender & Scout hit him perfectly in stride for a 78 yd. TD pass. Snyder has got some wheels; no one made up any distance with him.

Unfortunately, the offense sputtered too frequently; giving up the football on turnovers, or Scout being forced to scramble for his life. (that happened with regularity last year as well, but Lucas Witt had the benefit of 3+ years of starting experience to help him avoid trouble). LCA's offense should be able to correct these miscues, as both the line & the skill players gain more experience. It's only the first game, and Coach Graham will, no doubt, help them learn from the experience.

On the defensive side I was much more encouraged. The D-line looked great. They put a lot of pressure on the QB, and had him scrambling more than I'm used to seeing them do. The front 3 looked impressive: Zach West, Zach's brother Josh West & Neal Whitman are formidable. When the "runt" of the 3 is 200 lbs. & fast, powerful & experienced, you know things look good on the line.

The LBs & DBs have a ton of experience, & looked really good. Clay Mossbarger was all over the field, and almost took a CPA receiver's head off with a killer hit. This year it will be our defense that wins games for us. The offense should have plenty of time to gell as the season progresses.

If these guys keep focused (& I'm sure they will be) the sky is the limit.
