  1. Sarah Palin really does represent a majority of Americans. I truly believe that. Not being facetious at all. Ask the average American to name a newspaper or magazine that shapes their views on foreign policy and they would draw a blank. Ask the average American who Paul Revere was and they would most likely say he rode a horse but not really know why. She makes "average" people feel like they have someone to speak on their behalf, but don't we want someone better than "average" leading out country?

  2. For the record, while I disagree with the thought that the President having a beer sends a bad message, I do not have a problem with those that do. It's an opinion that has no right or wrong answer unlike if we are arguing over law. We simply disagree with each other.

Having a beer puts him "in touch" with a vast, vast majority of Americans.

  3. Go over to the friend's section on the main screen when you first log in.

Then scroll up until you see "add a friend"

Click on that and then click on OK.

Next type in the EXACT name...mine is statmanhensley...if you don't use the exact spelling it won't work.

When the name is entered, click send and if it was don't correctly, all you have to do then would be wait on the person to accept the request.

Thanks. I kept trying to figure it out from inside COD. Didn't realize it was on the main PS3 screen.

  4. What was the name of the Congressman who resigned over sexting photos a few months ago? Should he have resigned? Or should he have just said he was doing the work of the people and let things blow over?

I think you're talking about the congressman that resigned over photos of himself shirtless and posted them somewhere. Weiner is a different issue.

  5. As stated before, there is a clear difference between tolerance and acceptance. I think that is where the split lies between those who think the commercial is OK and those who don't. The people arguing against it seem to be under the impression that this commercial is pushing for acceptance of homosexuality, which probably goes against their moral code. No, obviously the commercial isn't flat out saying "Be Gay." But there are implications that it is alright to be gay. This seems to go against the views of some people on this board, which is why they find the commercial unacceptable (especially for younger children). Or are my assumptions way off?

The morality of homosexuality shouldn't come into play in this. People can believe whatever they want, but everyone has to be in agreement that bullying gays to the brink of suicide is unacceptable- regardless of what you think of that person.

  6. I'll turn it around, if a 4 year old like Plato's saw this commercial with Woody, what do you suppose he'd draw from it?

Let's go with what I assume is your worst case scenario: the child understands the message of the video. What then? He or she understands that life is difficult for gay adolescents and that maybe he shouldn't treat them differently so they don't think the only solution is to kill themselves?

  7. I'll turn it around, if a 4 year old like Plato's saw this commercial with Woody, what do you suppose he'd draw from it?

I'd think he wouldn't understand a lick about the message of the commercial, just see Woody, hear "You'll be fine, partner" and then think about how much he wants to go watch Toy Story.

  8. As long as we are splitting hairs here, I understand Plato's plight. If those of you pushing the tolerance button here can't see this has a pro-homosexuality slant then you'll not see his point. I don't think that bullying is ever ok. Bullying is not the issue for me, and obviously for Plato. But to promote homosexuality is not okay for me. And this commercial does that. It would be no different if it promoted adultery, or drunkenness, or debauchery, etc..

And if you see that as intolerance, I'd appreciate you being tolerant of my intolerance.

Sorry, how does it promote homosexuality?

  9. If you don't see marketing tactics when you watch the commercial then nothing I say is going to make you see otherwise... just as it is highly unlikely that anything anyone says will make me believe that the commercial doesn't market homosexuality.

How in the world does it do that? This video was made to get kids who are on the verge of suicide to think twice. I think the intentions are pure. It's not trying to get you to use Google Chrome, watch Toy Story or buy Lady Gaga's music. It's trying to save lives.

Do you believe there is an issue with gay adolescents being bullied and driven to suicide?
