  1. How is having them swear an oath to the United States religious discrimination? Did he say they have to swear on a bible? I saw no mention of that. Religion has no impact on whether or not you're loyal to your country IMO.

Right. And his implication in context was that Muslims, in general, are less loyal to America.

  2. Do you have a link to the question and their answers in context? I missed that part. Depends on the context as to whether it's troublesome or not IMO.

GINGRICH: I just want to comment for a second. The Pakistani who emigrated to the U.S. became a citizen, built a car bomb which luckily failed to go off in Times Square was asked by the federal judge, how could he have done that when he signed — when he swore an oath to the United States. And he looked at the judge and said, “You’re my enemy. I lied.” Now, I just want to go out on a limb here. I’m in favor of saying to people, if you’re not prepared to be loyal to the United States, you will not serve in my administration, period.

    (APPLAUSE)

GINGRICH: We did this — we did this in dealing with the Nazis and we did this in dealing with the communists. And it was controversial both times, and both times we discovered after a while, you know, there are some genuinely bad people who would like to infiltrate our country. And we have got to have the guts to stand up and say no

  3. Amazing that people are supposed to suppress their real feelings on ideas if it isn't pc. More amazing is that more people DIED in the tragedy of Joplin Missouri than in the horrid disaster of Katrina and New Orleans, but where is the outcry of injustice from the media and the federal governments lack of help to help rebuild that town?

I keep telling you that the tipping point is near and people are fed up with the entitlement programs...we must have a safety net, but the net has grown too large and has gone on for far too long.

It amazes me that these are their real feelings. Would they really require someone born in the US, raised in the US, educated in the US to have to swear allegiance to the United States before they could get a spot in their White House? That smacks of religious discrimination. For conservatives who hold the constitution so dear, that spits in the face of it.

  4. Not sure what they hoped to gain by allowing the guns to go through. Stingers worked as hoped.

Well the hope was obviously that the guys buying the guns would lead them to bigger fish. I'd be interested to know if they were able to make positive gains from the program.

And yes, the stingers worked, but not many were returned and most were smuggled out of the country.

I was shocked by how well she did. I was expecting a Palin clone, and she seemed anything but. Still think my man Mitt came out looking the best.

She was on her best bahvior last night though. She's got enough crazy in her to go around, we just didn't see it last night.

  6. Former Utah Gov. Huntsman will enter next week.

He will not campaign in Iowa though due to his opposition to ethanol subsidies which would have the effect of a major tax increase to many farmers in Iowa.

So he's already conceding the first (and perhaps most important) caucus?

  7. I think the candidates did very well last night. Paul is consistent in his opinions, and I can honestly see his son making a run at President in the future. I think Bachman handled herself well. Romney was on target, and honestly I was impressed with Pawlenty, although many in the press seemed to not. Cain, Santorum, Gingrich and probably Paul all somewhat quickly will have to give up the ghost, but I think based on what I saw Bachman will be in it longer than people believe, and to the delight of many on BGP-with her in-Palin will have to remain on the sidelines.

I thought the comedy started after the debate when poor Robert Gibbs had to go around the networks defending the President. When you hear his talk points it cracks me up. When Obama was running it was all about the failed Bush policies and we needed hope and change. Well we got it, and now the Obama camp wants to buy more time, and have continued and/or extended the same policies he ran against. This election will be about the economy, and now Obama has a record to defend, and he is much better on offense than defense. Reminds me very much of LBJ. Declared the king and has some game, but has serious chinks in the armour that are going to be exposed by an intelligent opponent.

Are you talking about Johnson or LeBron? :D

  8. Yeah, it was after repeated assaults by Hawaiians sworn to the annihilation of the United States. They kept lobbing artillery shells into California off the tops of Mauna Loa and Kilauea, back when Hawaii was located right off the west coast.

Eventually, enough was enough so the US stormed the islands and in six days put an end to the aggressions. Then we hitched massive chains to each of the islands and towed them out to the middle of the Pacific where they could continue their hateful rhetoric about exterminating Americans, but could not use their limited weaponry to bomb and kill more Californians.

We left San Clemente, Santa Catalina and several of the other Channel Islands, since their residents had not participated in the assaults, and they clearly learned their lesson after seeing what we did with those pesky Hawaiians.

I wasn’t around when all that happened, but thankfully I have a close connection with Georgia Representative Hank Johnson, who gave me the inside scoop on how all this went down, and now has me concerned about Guam rowing toward California and picking up where Hawaii left off...

I love history... especially the kind you can revise to make more interesting. :thumb:

    Now that's all funnier. :thumb:

  9. Typical of liberals to ignore the truth or facts, even when she has the backing of college professors. How could she just stumble onto a statement like that?

The hate for her must run deep.

Another truth stares liberals in the face, but they will not do the right thing and demand that Weiner step down.

    Immorality runs deep with liberals.

So what Palin spoke was factual? You believe that? At the very best, she is inarticulate. At the worst, she's clueless.

And I won't even attempt to tackle your broad-brushed painting of liberals as immoral. Be careful who you're labeling, pal.

  10. No, but I would bet any amount of money on it. Would you bet that it wasn't? Take a look at the facebook pm exchange on the link I provided. I would have bet any amount of money on what happened before seeing that. Now I would borrow money to bet on it. He slipped up and got caught. Game over.

Oh no, I agree with you. Pretty flimsy excuse. Now that he's admitted it, I still don't think he should resign.

  11.

    1. Coming from Breitbart, I take this with a huge grain of salt.

    2. If true, I'm not sure if it's a big deal. A mutual exchange of pictures between consenting adults?

Look, we all know that's his junk. He won't deny it. He does deny sending it out on Twitter, however. Could be a personal photo that someone did maliciously send out.
