BB always has a crop of OK basketball players, their coach makes many of the young men very good HS players.. Always one of the best coached teams in NKY.
IMO they were good before they got to BB. Coach Code has made them even better.

I heard the Mustangs out performed the much BIGGER Anderson Redskins last night during their scrimmage games. This Brossart team has a big bench, height and loaded with talent. Expect to see a high energy team this year that will do extremely well!
I would add their quickness and agility as well. I think you are going to see a more expolsive team that gets up and down the floor quickly. I know, I know, not the Code style of play. Maybe so but, I have a feeling that some people may be surprised. Or maybe I will. :jump:

Alex Trentman and Drew Burns will be a great tandem for Brossart. Ben Ubel, and Erik Rieger will do well at the guard positions. And of course, Justin Saunders is always solid. IMO, the key for Brossart will be their bench play. If they can get good, quality minutes from their bench, they have the potential to have a very good season. Of course, IMHO.

I heard the Stangs manhandled Boone Co in a scrimmage. Can anyone confirm?
Mustang can probably give you a better run down of the scrimmage with Boone County but, I think Brossart won 3 of 4 quarters.

No, but did donate some cans of food. : )

Not scouting. Just enjoying the festivities and watching some basketball as we are junkies. We were disappointed that we didn't win a free car wash.

Congratulations to the Harrison County Thoroughbreds. A great game and a great win. Good luck in the championship and as you progress forward.

Goals by Jordan Frommeyer and Drew Berkemeyer for Brossart. Great game played by both teams.

Congratulations to Campbell County. Good luck in the tournament. Good season for the Mustangs. Some wonderful memories. Thanks.

I'm guessing that BlueKrush skipped over playing Freshman and JV ball....or maybe never played the game at all. Just a reminder that every game, for every level, is important to someone, regardless.....It is impressive that 1 school has so far captured these titles, and yes, they are titles, as the games themselves are designated as championship. So BK, it's not a mythical championship, it is THE CHAMPIONSHIP for that level of play...important for Freshman, and important for JV....for you, I'm guessing it is just jealousy....work harder in the off season and you too can report out wins for your team.....good luck to you and yours in the post season...:sssh:
I agree with Birdbrain. I don't post often but, I love seeing local schools do well. It is one thing to have an issue with the way BGH posts but, don't take it out on the kids who are working hard every day and giving it all they have. I am the parent of one of those freshman/jv players. Should I tell him to not try because it is it is not varsity? I think not. BK, go find another thread to spread your negative comments.

Let it go, BlueKrush. There are a lot of posters on BGP who are very dedicated to their team. BGH is very loyal to the Lady Mustangs, whether you like it or not. It is what it is. Let's move on.

This is by no means a knock on Bopper, he has had a good season and GRC has been very successful this year. In my opinion this team has something the past few did not, chemistry. I just don't think you can say Bopper is the best Senior basketball player in the state. Manning, Moore, Dieudone, and really even Rusty Troutman are all better candidates in my opinion.
I still don't see why Stenzel is not a legitimate candidate. Does the POY have to be a certain height or score the most points? The POY should be more than just a big man who scores a lot of points.

Congrats, Holy Cross. Great game.

:clap:Camels appeared as if they didn't want to be playing basketball in Claryville tonight. The score could have been alot worse but CC made a couple huge buckets to keep it close. Kudos to the Eagles and Coach Carr, IMO one of, if not, the best high school basketball coach in NKY year in and year out.On a side note, the referees pet call (against and for both teams) for the evening was a charge (There had to have been at least 10 called and they missed 3 or 4 legitimate charges that weren't called). I think they finally called a block in the 4th quarter. (I'm pretty sure that wasn't the only blocking call, but it seemed as if it was.) I had to rub my eyes a couple times, I'm pretty sure I saw the Vlade flop a few times.

I am partial to Deming's gym. Shame this is the last year we will get to see it. They are building a new high school.

Both teams played extremely hard. Jennings (nephew) and McDonald were both invaluable to their respective teams. Kids played hard on both teams. The refs were consistent. Overall, a great game on both sides. I am sure their next meeting will be equally exciting.

Not a big deal but, don't we have to play Silver Grove and St. Henry first?
