  1. FHS is an injured dog. What does your grandfather tell about injured dogs that are foaming at the mouth...................LEAVE THEM ALONE.

    FHS 35

    BBHS -6

I don't know my grandfather always said grab the shot gun and put the dog out of his misery!!!!!

Seriously Frankfort even with the injuries is still pretty well staffed.

Frankfort by at least 2 tds.

  2. Very true. Good point. BC is in the building process. They won 5 games this year that is as many as they have won in the past 5 years combined. :thumb:

Some will not agree but Bourbon is better than their record shows. Granted we played a weaker schedule per say this year than Boyle and I am not arguing that point. Do we schedule the cream of crop, crush confidence and desire out of a team that is young? Or do we start from square 1 and build from there?

Ultimately, we know we are underdogs in the rest of the games we play. Can't change that now.

    Stranger things have happened.

  3. Will Paris ever get it going again?? It appears not.

If they lose some of the negative attitude. Honestly, there were some very athletic kids on that field and were doing well. They need to find the team attitude instead of the me attitude.

Question though, wasn't paying attention(Senior night) but who do they lose this year?

  4. Sorry, Bourbon county, Boyle county looks like it will have a dry field this week. You guys are going to get blown out. Unless you can throw the ball consistantly. Otherwise, the rebels will shut your running game down, and McShara will run wild.[/COLOR] Boyle 63 Bourbon 0.:dancingpa

You hope.... Not wanting to get into all this back and forth BS. You feel the way you feel and the Bourbon fans feel the way they feel. We will find out Friday. And IF what you say comes true then so be it.

  5. Perhaps maybe anyone who voted for Bourbon County to win want to explain why they will?

There are many factors to why a team can win or lose. Sometimes the caliber of team has nothing to do with the outcome. Don't look too far past each opponent!!

Bourbon is not that bad of a team. Young in the field experience side which is frustrating but they have to get the experience somewhere. They have grown alot during the season. They have had close games that shouldn't have been but that is the why it is a game to be learned.

And yes supporting the team where I have seen these young men play for years is always going to be a factor in how I place my vote.

What does it matter that someone voted against the Rebels in a poll anyway. That poll doesn't decide the game. JMO

Not trying to argue with anyone just saying. :thumb:

  6. Paris is more athletic in spots of the field, but as mentioned the problem is the QB is hurried, hit, or sacked a lot everygame because they do not have any size on the line and BOCO averages over 220 on the line. This will be a close game until the end and then Bourbon will pull away with a win. This will be a close game because it is the cross town rivals. Both coaches are doing great things with the programs. I understand a winless season does not show that, but its hard to play when the kids have awfrul attitudes and the both coaches are dealing with that this year.

The awful attitudes portion may be more on the Paris side than Bourbon.

From what I have seen Bourbon has a better attitude than ever before.

Bourbon may have a couple with attitudes, it is more than 3 and less than 5 kids that are attitude influenced by parental belief in the program. Other than that the rest of the kids are positive, of course, they would like to win more but who doesn't. They don't think about the 5 wins in one year, they think about the 2-3 games that they gave away.

  7. This is a game for bragging rights for the next year.

Always has been. Unless the field gets flooded I think the bragging rights stay right there at Bourbon Co.

They need to come up with a trophy that is displayed in the school that wins until the next game. One that would be for the area, like a colonel strangling a greyhound or a greyhound biting a colonel in two. Of course that makes 2 trophies. Never claimed to be a wizard at math.

  8. The line is a major problem for the greyhounds. They got decent skill players and a great Head Coach. Line and attitude is where Paris gets in trouble. Undoubtedly, Paris is more athletic. They have two or three "Taylor Barnes" on their team. The boxscore rarely shows that. Regardless, I still think this one will be close. By the way.......Does anyone know if a Paris win Friday gives them a playoff berth?

    Who is QB?

The line will be a critical part of the game. The ability or inability to open/close holes is a major factor in this one. Well, that is just about any game, huh.

  9. Just wanted to say Congrats to the Bourbon Co. Freshman and JV teams.

Both teams won championship games Freshmen played Fleming Co..

The JV squad played Montgomery Co.

All teams played really well, Bourbon has got some momentum from their underclassmen that will help the program in the next few years.

Again, Congrats to Bourbon Co. Frosh for an outstanding season and playoff run.

    Keep up the hard work.

    :banana::dancingpa

  10. THe 5 linemen that BC used this year one was a Jr. that did not get to play last year because of a shoulder injury, one was a senior that had not played since he was a freshman, and then 3 seniors that started last year and one of them had to have knee surgery 3 weeks ago. The next 2 linemen that BC used were both sophmores one of which did not play last year.

BC also lost there leading rusher to graduation and there fullback was also a senior. Poynter moveed the QB to RB since the starting RB from last year graduated. So the QB for this year is a sophmore. The other RB is a freshman.

Also BC lost there top 4 rec from last year that totaled 899 yards. I guess that is why BC is one dimensional this year. First year starting QB that is sophmore and all WR are gone.

Not looking for arguement just stating facts. :isurrender:

Ultimately, we put younger players in key roles on the line that were vacated by injury and still played stronger than we had in past years. Win or lose 80% of the parents are behind the program. More important that shows that 100% of the young men playing are behind the program.

  11. Why would Bourbon County want to play Trimble Co. or vice versa, they have a 18.6 Cantrall Rating, are a Class A school that is located an hour and a half from Paris. How does playing Trimble Co. get your kids ready to compete against district foes like Holmes, Harrison County, Franklin County & Pendelton County, not to mention region foes like Lex. Cath & Boyle Co. No disrespect to Trimble County in any way, but there is a classification system in place and a class AAAA school playing a middle of the pack or lower class A school does not make sense. Bourbon hammered Estill & Casey and then got throttled by Mason, a Bourbon/Trimble match-up would do nothing for either program other than settle some petty debate among grown-ups. If Bourbon wants to compete in class AAAA, scheduling Trimble County does not help accomplish that objective.

Sorry to have egged this on but this is the information that needs to be put out to educate. My thought process to was to create a spot to squash the debate. It is settled now.

Bourbon has improved under Coach P, maybe the most noticeable effect is attitude. The younger kids are listening and buying into the program and I feel that more young men may venture out to the program next year. I feel this will make Bourbon stronger. May take a few more years to get farther in the conference and playoffs but it is on the right track.:ylsuper:
