  1. Both! Holmes is better and the schedule is weaker. You have to build a program some how. You get better and play a weaker schedule. Weaker schedule means more wins. More wins brings excitement. More excitement brings more players. More players brings better competition at practice. Better practice equates to WINS! Sounds like Holmes has a plan.

I agree with you as well. But I have a question. Does that mean Bourbon lobbies to get moved down in class and get in a district that is weak. Rip off a bunch of wins and win district does that make them a better team? I don't think so. The fact is they came into a district in 4a that was IMO one of the weakest this year. You place them in District 6, the best they do is 3rd in conference.

IMO Holmes is a good team don't get me wrong, I just think alot of their success has been the drop in class and a extremely weak district across the board.

  2. I don't know for sure, but I think they basically divide the schools into 6 classes of about the same number of teams. So there isn't a specific enrollment number that determines what class you are in. For example, if there are 180 schools playing football, divide by 6 and that equals 30 schools per class. The top 30 schools in male enrollment are 6A. The next 30 schools are 5A. Etc... I think they re-evaluate this every two years with some exceptions allowed. Hopefully someone who knows can link in or explain the exact rules.

Thanks!!!! Gives me a little more understanding:thumb:

  3. Yea your probably right.... this is not that big of a game.

Claimer: Don't get too bothered by just a little trash talking.

 Yeah save the fireworks for a better game....like one in 2010.

Just bring a few smoke bombs..mainly as a distraction at the end to get out of the stadium so no one can see you leave after Bourbon wins!!!!!

Honestly, I will always back Bourbon and trash talk whoever we play.

Have to support the kids regardless of overall concensus.

Boyle is tough(4th in State if not mistaken) taking nothing away from them. Goodluck tonight and for both teams let's pray they both get to play injury free.:thumb:

  4. If Bourbon goes for a lot of fourth down conversions on their side of the field, Boyle County will have a lot of short fields to score.:walk:

Not saying they do.... But why punt on 4th and 1 if you gain 3 yards every play? Not saying that is going to happen. Don't get too bothered by just a little trash talking. Gotta go at this positively.:thumb:

  5. The biggest turn around is somewhat our attitude. Our freshman and JV teams had a combined record of 14-1. They have found out what it means to win and I feel that will carry over when they become seniors and have the sense of urgency to want to win the big games. I am proud of the whole program but especially the younger guys who are going to eventually lead our team to good things.

    Undefeated in conference play.[/U]

The majority of the attitude left last year minus a few. To quote a line from a movie," Attitude reflects Leadership." Take it for what you will.

The younger kids Freshman and JV are ready to believe in a program and have worked harder than in prior years because they see light at the end of the tunnel.
