Cats and Dukies in Catlanta in November you going?
I'll be there!

And UT hired Clemson's def coordinator. Makes for a happy UK fan living in TN.

In one year, which is all you can use to gauge, as Wall didn't stay. I think it's silly to compare a 1 year college player to one that is now a 3 year, and likely will have a 4th. Is it possible that Wall could have gotten hurt in a future season? What if Siva hadn't? Those questions and a host of other what-if's make the question impossible to answer, and again....I already stated I would rather have Siva over Wall. My main reason is that I feel to have a program built for longevity, you need multi-year players...I don't at all like it when players leave early, and I (maybe the only one on the planet) do NOT want UL going the route of one and dones.
And although you say proving that with Siva on the team instead of Wall is a detriment due to the flameouts in the NCAA tourney....aren't you at all disappointed that with all the draft picks UK has had the last 3 years, they haven't gotten a championship? Granted, I don't think their draft order has anything to do with gauging their college play. But if that's one of the criteria used to base the value of Wall vs. Siva on the college level, then I think it's a fair question.
As a UK fan, I'm not a fan of the one and done either, but Cal and Ricky P are recruiting a lot of the same kids. So it stands to reason that if UL wants the most talented players too, they just aren't getting them right now. It will turn and they will get some of them too and then you will have to deal with it. It is part of the business. Duke fans that I hang out with stand up year after year and say they don't like 1 and dones, but they recruited Wall and company too. Got Rivers and will watch him be 1 and done.

Example A of why parents IMO shouldn't have Facebook. This was obvioulsy from his heart and he loves his son tremendously. I'd venture a guess to say this is very embarassing to his son. When you hit 25, get off of Facebook.

UK under Pitino played the same type of D. Go back and watch the press and traps from those days...total hack fest.
TJones hit the boards like a man.
Davis is still blocking Siva.
Darius played some great D.
Teague drives me bonkers.
Chane would be banned from interviews if I were Pitino.
MKG is my favorite Cat this year. He plays so hard.

Nice points and I understand what you are saying, but for me back when I was getting into my Roots of teams the TV channels were so much different than for like my 14 year old in todays time. I even subscribed to the Birmingham News for the Sunday paper to get info on our games.
I understand that. In pro sports I was the same way. Big Cowboys and Braves fan in the 80's when I was a kid. Have no real ties to the teams and my "fanhood" is no more with either of them and wasn't in the 90's either. I guess that is why I love UK so much. Home state school and I can get behind the entire program.
-
I guess my problem with it stems really from living in Kentucky, North Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee as an adult. All four of those states claim to have the most passionate fan base ever...only they pick and choose which sports they love about THEIR schools. I'm just a fan of UK. Now, do I follow other schools and players? Sure. I just get tired of fans getting excited about their school in "the other sport" every now and then when they are decent.

I have a bigger problem with 'I root for UK basketball and ______ football'. That is my #1 pet peeve!

I just got home from Lexington and I'll tell you this much. Watching Roark and the boys celebrate was worth the 4 hour drive. I am so happy for the Seniors.

I had the pleasure of meeting Cawood Ledford at his house one time (he lived about 2 miles past my then girlfriend/now wife) and he told me in no uncertain terms he knew who sent the money. I don't believe it was Casey for one minute.

Guys, turn the volume down and don't listen to Vitale. It is really easy to do.

I was thinking they were meaning that the mentor was there to see the pupil pass him but I honesty got so tired of hearing about it that I wasn't paying attention.
I think that is what they were talking about as well. I am with you that I too was over it. Not to take anything away from K, very deserving. ESPN just goes overboard with everything!

I'm all about Max an Coshik, but before we get carried away...Coshik has looked good against inferior competition. I still think Clemmons is the best option at RB if healthy.
-
Lots of great one's already named. Scott Russell from Evarts in early 90's was a good one too. Broke Higgs' record for career yards rushing. Held it until I think Homer broke it.

I know that you weren't disputing. It was a great crowd for HC and a game as well glad you were there.
Are both Bell RB's srs? The qb is a Jr, correct?
-
The player that it was called on had been doing the same thing several times throughout the night. Back a few years ago they changed the rules. An offensive team will not be penalized were they are starting out 1st and 25. Penalties are part of the game.
I'm not disputing the call Commander. I was just asking why it was 1st and 10. I know both teams were very aggressive away from the plays all night long. I also agree that is a very good crew. I coached the lead official's son in baseball back in the day. Not sure why everyone is assuming I thought it was a bad call. I just didn't understand the call. And yeah, it certainly changed the momentum. HC was once again dominating the line of scrimmage on that drive and it all shifted after that. Great game. Both teams should do well. For my one game this year, I pickeda great one. Very impressed with the crowd HC brought to Log Mountain.
-
That is correct. A great game by Polly on both sides of the ball.
This was the first game I've got to watch this year and I was very impressed with both teams. Bell had a lot of speed and Harlan has some size on the lines. Can anyone explain what the 15 yd penalty on HC was at the end of the 3rd quarter? They were inside the 10 and I thought ran a play (1st down) and then took a 15 yd penalty. After it was marked off and the 4th started, it was 1st and 10 again. I was very confused.
-
3rd and 4 HC dropped back to pass and Brewer took a sack. That was ballgame. Bad play call in my opinion. HC dominated the line of scrimmage in the 1st Half. 2nd Half, big plays killed them.

Wish I could go. This is the type of win HC needs! Bell Co has OWNED the mountains for years and I for one am ready to a change. I have mad respect for Bell and what they have accomplished through the years, but am really hoping HC can take this one. The last time a regular season game was this hyped in my memory in Harlan Co. was Bell Co vs Cawood in '93. 12-7 Bell Co in one of the best HS games I've watched.
-
Kind of like UK - UT, it is hard for me to vote HC in this one. I was an 8th grader the last time Cawood beat Bell Co. and no other team from Harlan Co (Cumberland, Evarts, or Harlan) has beat them either. I think it will be a great game though.

Out of all these names I am curious to see if anyone will lists who they feel is the best player in the SEC of all time
i'm too young to have watched Pete play, but he seems to be the best. I'd have a very hard time saying who I thought was the best of that group. Mash was a game changer for sure...quite a list.

I think Martin is a MUCH better basketball coach than Pearl, but he has no real talent this year. It will always be a slow down style with him, but probably not as much as this year if he can recruit.
