Henderson Co. will be throwing their ace, Sam Higgs. Sam started the first round game (a 5 inning win) and closed the 7th last night. I believe Woodford will be throwing their #2, the Coach's son; who is supposed to be a very good pitcher.

Haha, how true, woodsrider. There's no way to measure and compare teams from years past, but this year's Trinity team looks to be one of the finest to ever put on the pads in KHSAA history.

Before Friday night's game, Massey Ratings were predicting a very comfortable win for Butler over Henderson (but they also predicted a 1 point victory for Henderson over PRP.....). At this point, all previous predictions should be thrown out the door. Henderson is playing some tough, inspired football. They also have posted more impressive victories over all common opponents than Butler has: PRP (48-0 vs 35-7), Southern (49-0 vs 34-13), Muhlenberg Co. (68-11 vs 41-0), Meade Co. (34-18 vs 24-14). Henderson seems to be peaking at the right time, plus it's at home. The Colonels will prevail in a close one.

This was by far Henderson's best game of the year, but not necessailry an aberration. They have clearly been not only gaining confidence over the past 2 months while on their winning streak, but they are also beginning to really execute Coach Clevenger's game plan. I was fully expecting this game to be a final possession-decided dogfight, and the Colonels definitely impressed. 9-win Louisville teams don't get beaten too often 48-0 (unless it's by Trinity or X).
