  1. So did Team Kentucky win their bracket? Was it the Silver or Bronze? Nice to hear what Fangman is doing. Six 3-pointers is great! Sounds like he gets a ton of time for TK. He and Daniels both. Daniels is a really nice player as well. Is he up to about 6'7" now. I saw him today. He looks like he's gained some height from last year. Wow, Brandon Hatton must have really lit it up with 38 points. The kid can play.
  2. I saw some of the SSS-Kentucky (NKY locals Geisler, Thelen, Smith, Brown, Bradley, Gray, etc.) play against the Racine Warriors? It was a close game, but the SSS seemed to have the game pretty well in control late. I believe the final was 54-53, SSS. I did see Scott Schuette hit a big 3 late in the game. That kid can really shoot it. As the primary PG smith looks to have done well also. Can anyone confirm what Thelen/Geisler did in this game? This team will be hard to beat with so many bigs and quick guards. I also got to see the NKY Bulldogs take down the SSS-White by 20 something. In this game Stauffer and Hodges played well. Hodges is a player that really seems to be coming on. He is now able to really step out and hit that jumper from the elbow to the perimeter. Had a nice dunk too. Also glad to see Trammel back to full health. I also like what Jack Stewart is doing for this team. His game has come a long way from a couple of years ago. Through talking, I heard that this team is down Clay Robinson, and had a couple players banged up. In the final four, it just wasn't the Bulldogs game. I saw the SSS-Black take down the NKY Bulldogs by 23 or so. This SSS team was packed with a lot of athletic talent and some good shooters. In the first half they didn't seem to miss many shots. I believe his name is Jaylen Goodwin, very nice player. Found a lot of backdoor cuts to the basket for lay-ups. Also nice at getting to the rim. Not sure of his name, but #41 hit a couple of big shots including two 3-pointers early to set the tone. That Gold bracket included some great competition. 3 SSS teams and the NKY Bulldogs. That is great for the local area. Way to put them travelers out early :thumb: What bracket did Team Kentucky make it into? How did they finish up? I thought they had a later game today. Good luck.
  3. I have a question about the SS Sports teams. At the Bearcat Classic (Where these teams appear to have been doing very well), I noticed that the teams are listed as colors (SSS-White, SSS-Blue, SSS-Black, etc.). But on the website for the SSS program, it doesn't have any of this. I think three of the 17's teams are listed under Coach Price. Why is this? Why not just stick with one team name. Either a coach or a color. Or, at least an area like the SSS-Kentucky team. I think this leads to a lot of confusion. I like to follow each team, but it's hard to keep up when they switch names.

  5. Sounds like a nice team. I like the locality of the players. Good luck this summer! I'll be keeping an eye out.
  6. Sorry to hear about the guard, nothing to serious I hope. Hopefully he will heal up quick.Who all is on this roster? I saw plenty of local kids. A few from the Boone County area. Good luck to the NKY Heat in the Bearcat Classic.
  7. The Bearcat classic had some nice games to offer up tonight at Midwest Hoops in Florence. I went there as I had heard there would be some 16U and 17U action going on. I did see three loal teams in that age group. And, a lot of the younger NKY talent. I was watching all of the SSS game against the Dayton Nets, but somehow missed the final. Things looked rough early for SSS, but they came back. Anyone know who won that won? I know it was a 2 pt victory for one of them. SSS has some solid young talent. Number 14 seems to have a lot of potential. I also saw the Northern Kentucky Bulldogs in a wash over Showtime (Dayton). Upper 20's victory. Seem to have been led by the bigs, Stauffer, Stewart, and Hodges. I think they are a real nice team with a ton of potential! Hayes from Holmes looked good as well. The NKY Heat 16's, lost a close one in the end. Tough loss for them. Really nice young talent and potential. Hope to seem them again this weekend as they were fun to watch. Good luck to all Kentucky teams!
  8. Will Team Kentucky be at the Bearcat Classic this weekend? I am excited to see J. Daniels. He was a really good player last summer and I imagine he's only gotten better. Fangman had a nice HS season as well, and will be fun to watch this summer. Is Brett Riedinger or Zach Barnett playing with Team Kentucky this year?
  9. So..... You havent heard of the NKY Bulldogs? That's pretty amazing considering the talent they have on their team. And, considering the fact that they are local. All players from right here in NKY. And, they were in almost every local tournament last year. Watching them is like watching Team KY, and SSS (pittman last year) because they have a lot of local NKY talent. You really should catch a game. From what I have heard, they traveled to Knoxville to play with national teams, and national level talent. Correct me if I'm wrong. Lots of high profile D1 and D2 talent at the KnoxVegas heat, both last year and this year. And, sounds like they did well with it.
  10. How many 3's did Fangman knock down? Sounds like a lot according to the post.
  11. I like Zeke's post game. Strong under the basket.
  12. Has anyone heard about the Charlotte Court in Tennessee? V. Southern Kings-Friday V. Carolina Raptors Gray-Saturday V. Middle Ga Magic- Saturday
  13. What happened in the two games the NKY Bulldogs had today? I am seeing on the KnoxVegas Heat website that they were to play the Jacksonville Nets and the Columbia Hoyas today. Great to hear that Trammel played a nice game. I know that he had a tough school year with the injury. Good for him. Also nice to hear that Stauffer is picking up where he left off. Good luck to the Bulldogs. Who is heating up down there in Knoxville? I wish I knew what was going on in those Team Kentucky games. 3 games in six hours is brutal for them boys. I am sure they will be able to fight through. Good luck and keep us updated. Who all is playing for the SSS-Downs team? Is Pike playing for them? Good to hear Chambers had a good game.
  14. This should be a good game. Keep us posted on the winner. According to the KnoxVegas Heat website, the NKY Bulldogs were playing tonight. Anyone know the outcome of their matchup with the Greenville Tar Heels?
  15. Maybe I misunderstood the question, but then how does the Simon Kenton assistant coach for the Shining Stars (DSAS) team all summer (starting in April)?
  16. It wasn't meant to be a slam though. I mean, I can only talk about what I saw in that game. Would you rather I lie? Basketball and competition is about truth. It wasn't meant to be a knock on Thelen so much as it was meant to be a testament to how nice of a player Stauffer is. Many other people believe the same thing. Thelen got his rematch this past season in highschool ball and played VERY well. Im sure they will meet somewhere this summer. Should be fun and interesting to watch. Good luck to both young men!
  17. Good luck to the Charlotte Court in Knoxville this weekend. Have a great weekend. Also, that Tar Heels team is fun to watch. Hatton is a stud.
  18. So.... You dont put stock in "one game" match-ups... Isnt the school season game a "one game match-up"??? For those of you who saw, Stauffer's game wasn't to shabby either. But, I wasn't trying to "slam" Thelen. Just talking about a specific game. No hard feelings.
  19. Slammed him pretty good? Wow. This is a blog. It's talk. Thelen is a nice player. Very nice. He has some really good low post moves.
  20. He isn't "my guy" as you so readily put it. And, Stauffer and Thelen seemed to have matched each other in the game I saw. As for Wellbrock, he is a nice player. The two together may have out "statted" Stauffer, but neither got "the best" of him.
  21. Hmmm, I had heard that he wasn't playing this summer as well. I guess time will tell.
  22. Where will the Shining Stars and Charlotte Court be? Any ideas....
  23. I would have guessed D2. Kellen is a nice player. One of the better passers in the state I believe.
