TubbyCAT that is a strange statement.......PM me if you want to tak about recruiting at the next level.....particularly at the DIII stage.
-
Player Pride not sure who the players are that can play at the next level.................Junior college is completely misunderstood. They are filled with potential DI and high DII kids who do not have grades (see Cincinnati St. roster). As far as DIII College basketball it is not an extension of high school basketball. It is the real deal and if you look at teams like Thomas More and Mt. Saint Joe they are recruiting kids that have played against top competition (ie GCL kids). So to be perfectly honest I do not know of any kid in the past several years that could play at the next level.

Highlands cruises in this one. Realizing they are not a strong team they are way to much for Dayton.
-
Not sure Connor gets to make that decision. Obviously if he does he will not walk him.
-
I have seen Wainscott coach as a head coach for many years and would not want that to be my choice.
-
Was Besecker the previous coach?
-
If those things are true then you certainly would change my opinion of him. Mustang refers to him as a class act so I will wait for more info from others. Those things you stated would certainly qualify as not running a program correctly.
-
Okay then what has Goetz Key Schlarman Kelley Carr Feldman Listermann Biggs done over the past few years???????? That is what would make any of those names (some candidates some not) better than Mike Flynn?
Mike Flynn would be a good choice but so would several of the other candidates. But to question him being a quality candidate and a potentially good choice is absurd.
-
Those of you pointing at Wainscott......did any of you see his Pendleton teams?????????
-
Well if you look at the list of candidates that are posted I would venture to guess he has the most regional titles of any of the coaches. I would consider Willie's run at Highlands to be successful and he did not win a regional title. Not sure what criteria you are judging Coach Flynn on but he is a top notch coach.
-
Jack of all Trades you have been on here pining for the 6th grade program. Also it seems many posters did not see Willie building the middle school programs. I can not say one way or the other but it seems to me that you couldnot make headway on a 6th grade program in the past so the change might benefit the younger programs............Agree? Disagree?
Is that part of the hiring criteria?
-
Before Ashland he was at Holmes and even when in Ashland he spent a lot of time in the area. He is currently principal of the Northern Ky. Alternative School.
-
Why does the 6th grade program take precedence over getting the varsity program up and running and the new system put in place?
-
Even if that were the case why wait until the night before to cancel????????
-
Not true. CATS testing dates were set last year for the later date. All schools new the dates at the beginning of last school year for this year's testing cycle.
-
I would say during CATS testing this is a very smart move. However......since everybody knows when CATS testing is years in advance they NEVER should have scheduled the game. Poor planning!
-
Yeah the salary of the two (Newport and Bellevue) is amazing!!!!! Yes Beau is a guy who may stay for awhile.
-
I hope so that would be awesome if he is!!!!!!!!
-
Not really. As far as the combining is concerned. You could through the Grove in on that too......
-
I am hearing a former Calvary coach but I am a little iffy on it.
-
If you win. They will come. Also keep in mind taht enrollment has dropped considerably in the past decade. If 20% of the student body comes to the games, and the student body drops by 30%. Do the math.
That is a major issue at Bellevue (and Newport) for that matter. The drop in enrollment is concerning.
-
No Newport thinks they can not compete on a yearly basis. Otherwise they would vote for seeding. I am not making statements about teams. Just the philosophy of the school as it pertains to seeding.
-
Dude you and I rarely agree but goldandblack that is not a fair post to the players that work hard on that team. Now I agree with the poor crowds the past several years but the players are still playing hard.
-
Not saying it is not there fault but that is the reasoning to vote that way........... Yes and this year Bellevue would be a 2 seed.....but 9 out of 10 years they are a 3-5 seed.

Dylan is an excellent catcher and I think he plays summer ball for Bob Myerhoff. Seems strange to bypass him......anyway this is not unusual for a team like this to have a game like this in the first game of districts.
