  1. I too have heard alot of the same comments. I haven't been there to see but a few games it seems there are several players that IMO probably shouldn't be on the team for lack of proper attitude and talent. If the coaching staff played those that "want to work hard" and sat a few (and this goes for ALL summer teams) this would not be a discussion.

As for above mentioned players being "overrated! Very much incorrect

Mr Baseball Luke Maile U of Ky

    Isler U of Cin.

    EJ Murray not sure

Connor I heard the other day he was made some sort of offer from Xavier

    Nutini headed to Thomas More

sounds pretty solid to me! And there are probably more heading to college. When I watched them the above mentioned players played very hard and smart.

  2. Aren't these things voted on by the high school coaches?? Yes they are?

Isler heck yes should have played as well as Darner. Connor belongs and of course Mailie no question. Tyler Brake IMO should be included as well. How many can you vote for? Jones is solid and played with the Jrs so?????

The All Star coaching staff picks part of the teams as well don't they?

  3. So, this isn't about the best players making the team from the state and this isn't a knock on Conner at all, as I said earlier great kid.....

Sure it's about the best Isler is a pitcher Connor is a 2nd baseman????? If you feel so strongly about Isler making it look at the pitchers that are playing not the infielders.

I agree Isler belongs as a pitcher but I'll take Connor at 2nd over him anyday.

  4. I believe the all Star team is voted on by the coaches. I not 100% on this but I think each region gets 2 players one from DI and one from DII. If I'm not mistaken a coach is not allowed from to vote for a player from his own team. There are many deserving players out there, not enough spots for all. Mailie and Connor are the truly the best annd most deserving from their divisions.

  5. J. Connor from NCC

    R. Conner from Franklin County

Understand, I don't go to all of the games with gas at $2.65 and up. I have missed one so far and that game was played south of Lexington.

I show Connor last throwing Friday vs the Bluegrass Buzz

    Connor

    29 Pitches 2 innings 7 AB 1 hit 0 runs 0 earned runs 0 walks and 3 k

Shuttleworth has been the only pitcher Walt has allowed to go more than 4/5 innings so far.

While Conner is a very good pitcher, IMO he is not the second best pitcher on the team. Now understand he would be my starting second baseman for each game, but Isler #1, Shuttleworth #2, Etscheid #3 then Connor. Remember just MO.

Sorry this Connor/Conner is hard to follow. Above you have J Connor and R Conner. Connor threw vs Buzz according to rhe buzz he allowed no hits but a catchers interference call allowed a runner on(no big deal). You say Conner is also a very good pitcher?

    Again thanks for the updates.

  6. I'm not a fan from either CCH OR HC. However, I've looked at both schools records and had the opportunity to watch both teams play. I'm looking at the teams CCH beat this year vs the schedule of HC. Now you have a very good arguement where HC is still in the tournament. But, the best team sometimes doesn't make it in. CCH beat Scott by scores of 9-4 and 13-5. Saying," HC is to strong for the 9th region this year", just out of curiosity what were you basing this on? Is that just an opinion? If so, I'm ok with just an opinion. But not so sure I would agree where HC is that strong to be so sure they would have beaten Cov Cath two straight. I'm basing my comments on watching both teams play and the strength of Cov Caths schedule against ranked teams vs HC. I do agree with HC being a very good ball club and I wish them well. But, I just cant get past the comment of the 9th Region being weak for HC. Not sure how you came up with that?

I agree with you. I still think CCH is the best team in the state and would prevail over HC. Didn't NCC beat HC in their invitational tourney this year?

  7. Both teams did a fine job under tuff circumstances. The wet conditions changed the entire face of the game. NCC committs 3 errors early that cost a few runs and then the table turned on Ryle late. Connor hadn't given up hit until the 3rd or 4th and the Ryle pitcher did an outstanding job as well. And again Cody Meyer was exceptional behind the plate for Ryle.

  8. I believe that Ryle's first 3 runs were unearned and NC's last 5 runs were unearned. It was exciting in spite of the miscues, but it probably was not real easy to throw the wet ball around the field. It is unusual to be able to play baseball when the ball is wet the whole game and I would attribute many of the errors to the unique wet ball situation. NO way the games were played in Florence today without synthetic turf. Had to be a heartbreaking loss for the Raiders after controlling the whole game until that fatal first error with 2 outs in the top of the 7th. Ryle had turned some very nice DP's in the poor conditions. Great job by both teams of hustling and battling the whole way. Very entertaining h.s. baseball game. Good luck to the Breds. They are really gonna need it vs. CovCath.

The wet turf and ball were very much a factor and both all pitchers deserve credit for dealing with the tuff situation. The errors where many and the wet conditions contributed to most if not all. Connor's clutch hit to drive in the go ahead run turned it around for NCC. Meyer from Ryle was terrific behind the plate tonight!

  9. I don't care how the seeding turns out as long as CovCath wins it all :)

Ideally I'd like them to get St. Henry first round so that they can save Isler for the second round opponent.

Do you think Coach Krumps would not throw his number 1 pitcher? I believe Meyerhoff taught everyone a lesson about that a year ago. That type of disrespect can fuel the opponent. I think he would start Isler and put the pressure on the bats to score enough early then take him out so he could come back quickly.
