  1. This was only the second opportunity I have had to watch Lauren Tibbs play and I will say she is pretty special. Great footwork, soft hands, and great effort. Good luck the rest of the season and in your career with Marquette.

Thanks for the support. It was very nice meeting you last night. Lauren told me last night that she has the highest respect for Jenna and the entire Ryle team. Abby Jump came and found Lauren after the game to wish her well and Jenna passed along similar wishes.

  2. Final score from Taylor Mill. Ryle was led by Jenna Crittendon's 23 pts., 7 steals, and 8 assists. Scott was led by Lauren Tibbs. Don't know Miss Tibbs stats but she scored a bunch.

Jenna played a great game. Tibbs had 29 points and 10 rebounds and played her heart out on senior night. Coach Earley from Marquette was there to support Lauren on senior night and was also there to watch Jenna. They both did not disappoint.

  3. They did do a good job, but it's pretty much the same issue Scott has dealt with all year. Little to no perimeter shooting threat allows teams to triple Tibbs and dare the Eagles to shoot outside. Also, they give away too many possessions because of poor guard play and not being able to handle the press. They had about 17 turnovers, which is actually better than normal. With even an average backcourt, the Eagles could challenge for a regional title.

You summed up this very frustrating season extremely well. Injuries to key players have not helped. They have not progressed and found a way to improve or develop different offensive sets to address this. I am amazed at the numbers that Tibbs (24ppg and 11.6 rpg) and Stinson (12 ppg and 7 rpg) have still been able to put up with the defenses they have seen and the number of lost possessions due to turnovers. (especially Tibbs' numbers)

  4. Another tough loss. Tibbs and Stinson are great post players, and it's too bad Scott doesn't have the perimeter play to open things up more for them. Losing the 8th Grader Trimpe hurt, as she was the one reliable outside shooter on the team. The guards are just not athletic enough or experienced enough to handle pressure. This team is a solid point guard from being a very good team.

True on all accounts. Trimpe was really developing and could have really helped them down the stretch

  5. Too many turnovers doomed the Lady Eagles again. Pendleton Co made a nice run in the second half and shot very well from the free throw line. Tibbs led Scott with 31 points and 14 rebounds. Stinson had around 15. It was announced that Lauren Tibbs was nominated as a McDonalds High School All American prior to the game. First in Scott High school history. Congratulations Lauren!

  6. Final from Union. It was a great atmosphere and a great game. The box and chaser that Ryle ran all night on Shrout was very gutsy and very effective. Boone had a hard time figuring it out in the first half being down 23 to 16. They came out strong in the second half and Moss got going. Ryle answered the run and controlled things down the stretch with their spread offense.

This was much closer than I anticipated. Scott hung tough for most of the game but could not overcome too many turnovers. Tibbs battled hard again with 22 points and 16 rebounds but could not match the balanced team scoring of GRC.

  8. The press was definitely the difference. Campbell Co. Played extremely hard and deserved the win. Scott was very short handed tonight as one starter was out as the result of a car accident on the way home from school and their top scorer off the bench sprained her knee yesterday. The press literally wore Scott down and allowed CC to make a big run early in the fourth quarter to stretch out a very close game to 8 to 10 points. Tibbs did everything she could scoring 32 and left nothing on the floor. She needed some help.

  9. Yes indeed. The lady stangs have a definite chance to win the 37th district and seem to be getting better every game. I was just saying that Scott has one of the most dominating players in the state, but their guard play is not as good as Brossart's, Campbell's, or several other teams in the area. Scott is a good team, but they are not THAT good. Did not intend to sound harsh. Lauren Tibbs could probably beat me up.

I was very impressed with Brossart considering how young they are. They battled and really out hussled Scott for most of the night. IF Scott can stablize their guard play a little they are very difficult for most teams to deal with inside. There is no doubt that they are struggling and there were many instances last night that they did not look like a good team. The key will be where they are at the end of February. Scott is young as well at key positions. An eighth grader and freshman both have key roles and are learning and developing. I know Lauren Tibbs and she is way too nice to beat you up.

  10. The Lady Eagles won their second game in a row with a win over Cooper tonight. Another good team effort. Lauren Tibbs led the way with 37 points and another 27 rebound game. Congratulations.

Correction!! Miscommunication on Lauren's rebound total after the game. She finished with 16 rebounds.
