It doesn't matter what Ashland does in this region. They will never be able to compete Statewide at the class level they are currently placed. Ashland is the victim of a disinterest in football for other sports. Yes they will occassionally beat schools in this region on a regular basis, but for the size of school that Ashland is, the football team is lacking as a representative of this region due to disinterest.

With the losses of Denton, Carver, Logan, Boyles, etc. I doubt that Maynard's class of GCHS area "transfers" will continue to provide Raceland the man power it needs to compete with Ashland and Russell. It was a good ride fellows welcome back to the bottom of the region.

Keep the folks from South Shore off his back and let him coach. That area of the county thinks they are the only ones that know football and have routinely run off the best of Greenup's coaches. Unfortunately for Mike Sammons, being from South Shore didn't even help him.
