  1. So, with AJ out this game will decide how good Dalton is, correct? If Dalton goes 15/23 for 252 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT and 116.6 passer rating be good enough or does he need to do more? Because, those are the numbers he had against Atlanta when AJ played 3 snaps without a catch and Jones and Eifert were out as well.

Hellbird, your hatred of Dalton is fine as it really doens't matter but like I said after week two or three as soon as they lose a game all the trolls will come out bashing. Well, they lost a game (badly and embarrasing at that) but Dalton had a higher passer rating than the winning QB in Brady. He missed some throws, as did Brady but we don't care about the other guy.

The Bengals lost bad to San Diego in the playoffs and Dalton gets the blame (some deserved) but he didn't give up 197 yards rushing. They get smoked in New England but he didn't give up over 200 yards rushing.

The Bengals need to run Hill 25 times and use Gio as the change of pace back. You can't give Hill just 2 carries as they did versus New England. Pound the ball since you have your top three receivers out and a TE that has bricks tied to his hands.

  2. That was an awful display for the half. Can't stop the run, AD is his Prime Time self and when he does seem to get in the groove they drop them or fumble them, Offense looks really confused. Now they have to open it up, not a good scenario.

Of course everyone will blame Andy but he isn't close to the problem.

  3. The Bengals have far and away played the better ball so far and I think they are better in just about every position group. So, why can't I make myself believe they will actually go to NE in primetime and win. This is the type of game where the Bengals have their first two fumbles of the year, miss a gimme field goal and get a bad call from the ref's and lose on a last minute field goal. I guess it's the fact they have lost their last 8 Sunday night games and are 9-20 on Monday nights.

    I can't help it... I say Bengals 27-20.

  4. I would like to hear what the caller who reported "shots fired" has to say as air pistols, BB guns etc. don't make loud noises. Maybe they saw them holding the guns and maybe even saw them shoot at something. The caller maybe didn't "hear" but "saw" and told the operator and the operator puts out the call "shots fired" but she didn't say they were loud shots??

I always say stupid kids doing stupid things and I'm just glad a campus cop didn't see them and start shooting at them.

I do agree that a one game suspension is a joke, especially when two of them don't even play. I say four games and some volunteer work and they should not be allowed on the field during the games. Let them sit at home in their dorm and not enjoy the primetime atmosphere this game will bring.

I just hope they learn from this!!

  5. It's not good for the Bengals to face the Pat's after that performance. However, at some point in time all elite teams and players start to decline and maybe, just maybe, the Pat's are that team this year as they do not look good. There is no deep threat and their O-Line is awful. If the Bengals can get pressure with their front four and Burfict stays in the game then I think the Bengals finally get their signature road, primetime win.

  6. This is a great article that I recommend everyone to read

    A Bengal Under Pressure

There is a difference in how QB's on avg perform under pressure and how Dalton performs under pressure.

So basically this guy says Dalton sucks in just about every area? And yet, he has won 30 games in 3 years, OK.. I agree he has sucked it up in the playoffs ALONG with most of his teammates and coaches. I think the best is yet to come, but if not, at least he is better watching than all the clowns they have had since the early 90's. If I have to be satisfied with JUST getting to the playoffs, then I will be fine as in years past I had to switch my thinking to college hoops around late September.

  7. I hope the contract is perfomance based but if not, you still need a good QB to win in the NFL and I can remember a whole bunch of Bengal QB's over the last 20 years that are not even close to Dalton. If you can go 30-18 in the regular season as a Bengal QB then you can't be too bad. His numbers are awful in the postseason but his OL sucked as bad as he did and their were several drops by the WR's so it wasn't all on him.

I think he is going to have a big year if the new center and the new RB perform like I think they will. Jackson will run a lot more which will take the pass rush down a bit and give Dalton time which he has proven to be good when he has time.
