  1. Really, you would cheer against your team just so you don't have a rematch with the Birds?

Sorry, I edited out the part of his qoute that I wanted to highlight. That was "I don't want another rematch with the birds".

I apologize, I just meant we would not want another rematch in general. I am no fan of JC. I'm just saying that IMO I think alot of people dont want to see that again. It was ugly

  2. I want to congratulate my younger, but not so little cousin. Soph. #11 Brennan Daunt returns an int for a TD in the first quarter for his first varsity TD. Huge play. He did something that nobody else in his family has been able to do, successfully catch a TD pass. Way to go, Johnny!

:ylsuper: haha, that was a great starter! I agree, good job!!

  3. Hmmmmm....Beechwood had 335 yards offense to NCC 245 yards offense. Take away the NCC 10 yard pass that turned into a 65 yard TD pass down the sideline on a missed tackle and NCC had 180 yards offense. Mark Kelley carried 16 times for 41 yards. Beechwood will take those stats and be very proud every time they play NCC. NCC not only did not "absolutely dominate both sides of the ball", they didn't even come close to winning the yardage battle. The NCC offense had one TD drive in the game. They got stoned two times on goal line stands by Beechwood. All the other NCC points came off turnovers and big plays on special teams. Nope, NCC did not dominate by any measure. NCC played an error free game, put up the most points and that is the only thing that counts. Give NCC credit for a good win and especially Mark Kelley's punt returns for being the difference in the game. But I have no doubt Beechwood would love to go back out on the field against them tonight and see what happens.

O trust me, I bleieve NCC would love to go back on the field with Beechwood again too. They would probably beat them worse. You cant take away plays and such from the game and say "if that didnt happen then..." because that is apart of the game. You wouldnt have to "take those plays away" if Beechwood was doing there job. So maybe NCC didnt win the yardage battle, but they won the game and that is all that matters. Beechwood is not a bad team by any means, but look what happends to Beechwood when they play a good team.

  4. The New Cat, Cov CAth game earlier in the year was a great one. Many lead changes, a huge comeback to even be in the game, and maybe the greatest high school catch I have ever seen. Although I wasn't happy with the outcome, I walked away saying it was a heckuva game!

Yes, that was one heck of a game. And one heck of a catch from that kid, nothing better than falling back with defense in your face and making a huge catch, that was key. Although, NCC had key players out that game. I believe after the schedule NCC has faced and the hits that Cov Cath has been taking, NCC would take one away from CCHS big time.

  5. NCC 21

    Lloyd 14

That is if NCC can show some consistiency this week, they just don't show the killer instinct and put anybody away, it is like they get up by a few and then let off the throttle, they need to put the pedle to the metal, playoffs are just around the corner.

  6. Here is the real scoring for the game

    N – Kues 1 run (Grosser kick); 7:56

    N – Kelly 10 run (Grosser kick); 1:51

    Second Quarter

    N – Kelly 3 run (Grosser kick); 8:06

    Third Quarter

N – Rawe 45 pass from Kues (Grosser kick); 11:13

    N – Kelly 80 run (Grosser kick); 6:59

    N – Grosser 43 interception return (Grosser kick); 2:42

  7. I agree about their passing game being effective. I didn't mean to imply that they weren't, only that in recent years NCC has had a "pass up and down the field reputation" and that certainly didn't happen tonight. But they were certainly effective. NCC's rushing attack was much better in the second half, though they did put the ball on the ground several times.

Off night for NCC's kicker or a problem area? Can't keep missing extra points and short FG's and it not one day bite you in the butt.

Not hardly, snapper couldn't get the ball to the holder, this continues to be a problem for their kicking game, this needs to be resoved before they get into a game where it counts. I heard the kicker was drilling them in warmups from 45- 50 yards out.
