  1. NCC will put all the pieces together soon. When and if they do they will be unbeatable.

    1. Special teams are playing great

    2. offense has some great moments when they had to. Beechwood game.

They turned it on in 2nd half against Connor and Beechwood.

Some say it is a sluggish start, others say great adjustments by coachs at the half. They have dropped the ball on passes and fumbles. They will work it out.

    3. Big problem is the defense. They have been missing players all year at key positions. That leaves people rotating and playing different spots that there not used to. I believe that problem will be solved this week with kids getting healthier.

Once it is all there. They will win by 24.

Take away a score for every break down in these areas.

:thumb:Good points. Special teams are doing great, puttin the ball in the endzone is a key factor for HS ball. Also, offense does have a couple great moments here an there but need to play a full game and not just the second half. And the defense is playing great. You're right, all year they have had key players out, but they are now starting to get it all together. The only player injured right now is Mario Escalante and he should be back next week. Mario was replaced by Ben Parr as safety, and IMO Ben is doing a great job, he's had some great hits.

  2. As far as the winner or how close the game is?

Hm, for as much as I know, it wont be the same score or game. Both teams IMO are great teams. Also while FC is leading in scoring points, NewCath has played a very tough tough schedule. I think if it becomes a rematch between the two, it will be a very different game than last year.

    Goodluck to both teams.

  3. You are beating a dead horse on strength of schedule; I agree with you! FC is in a District which includes Todd County, Hancock County and they can't change that. Because of tradition, FC will not break free of the Army Bowl with Ft. Knox, which is easier than a practice scrimmage. Paducah Tilghman and Mayfield both were ranked high in the early polls, but failed to perform on the field.

Nobody in Western KY has had more postings on BGP about FC increasing their strength of schedule than me. The schedule will improve starting next season. I believe we will have Hopkinsville, a big school from Evansville, IN and Kenwood from Clarksville, TN and possibly a school from Nashville, TN.

That being said, for anybody to under estimate Fort Campbell's championship caliber football program two years in a row would be sheer folly. History does have the capability of repeating itself.

I wasn't downing FC's ability to bring home another state title what so ever. I'm just saying that I believe they are a great team and would like to see them toughin it up a little, see who they can roll with. With that said, I think they are a very good team who have a very very good chance of winning state again. And I also look forward to seeing their schedule improve in the future and see what they are made of. Goodluck FC.

  4. DeSales will hang around for awhile and then the Breds take over and win by 20 points.

Agreed, NewCath seems to be a second half team. So I think in the beginning of the game it'll be kinda even, then when the second half rolls around NewCath will dominate. Although, NewCath needs to start playing a whole game instead of just a half or else it'll hurt em in the end.

  5. The Corbin field appeared to be in spectacular condition. The week of the big rain (last week of the season), Corbin had the week off. That is one thing Corbin has always managed to do. If at all possible and unless there is just an absolute downpour during playing action, the field is going to be in tip top shape. The only drawback I could possibly see is that it may be a little hard right now due to the cold.

    I see, thank you!

  6. No doubt the 'Breds are solid! My posting was in response to the comment regarding NCC repeating this year just like last year. Had to point out that NCC isn't the defending champ and when they did win their most recent title in '06 they were a 1A team.

Should Fort Campbell be fortunate enough to play in the title game, you will see a team that is different from last year's squad. They are the fastest, most explosive offensive team in 2A - not just a couple of players, but a host of players. (541 points scored, the most in 2A) On Defense, they have given up a measly 89 points through 12 games, a considerable portion of them allowed by the JV team. (Least amount of points given up in 2A)

Fort Campbell has not lost to a 2A team since the playoffs in November 2006 to Trigg County. (Two years - no 2A losses)

I agree with NKU above me, so FC scores alotta points..who have they played? NCC's schedule is way way more challenging than FC's.

Therefore, easier teams= more points.. get me?;)

  7. No way New Cath beats Beechwood 9 or 10 times if they played 10 times. Anyway I'm done talking about New Cath. I think Frankfort will play Beechwood tough but I see Beechwood pulling away. From what I have read on here Beechwood has the athletes that can run with Frankforts speed.

    uh, yes way.

and Agree'd, BW wins this game. If they do who's next?

  8. Umm wrong. New Cath wouldn't be winning the title year after year if they had stayed in Class A. Beechwood has won 9 titles since 1991 when New Cath first moved into Class A. New Cath beat them once in the 90's and that was in the 93 regular season. New Cath did catch up to them in this decade but not bye much. The only time the Breads have dominated them was in 2001 when they beat them twice. After that both teams split most of the meetings. I know that the Breads have beaten them the last 3 times they played. I thought this years game both teams were evenly matched. New Cath just made the big plays to win. I think if they played 10 times they would split them 5-5.

umm wrong, if they played again, NewCath would win most likely 9-10:argue:

  9. I did some research regarding what's bolded above. Here's what I found.

In 1A, there was only team that scored more than 541 points, and zero that allowed less than 89.

    In 3A, same as 1A

In 4A, there were two teams that scored more than 541 points, and two teams that allowed less than 89. Bell County scored a state high 593, while allowing a state low of 28.

    In 5A, same as 1A and 3A.

In 6A, there was only one team that scored more than 541 points, and one team that allowed less 89.

So, with all that said, the Fort Campbell Falcons rank in the top 7 of highest scoring teams in the state, and in the top 3 of stingiest defenses in the state. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

    :ylsuper:

    Later.

That to be said, they would be a good and tough team to beat.

I'm thinking rematch, NewCath and FC. Both great teams

  10. I think we are getting ahead of ourselves here. We have to win Friday, and then some.

It always amazes me that people say Beechwood should move up. Beechwood is a small school. Yes, class A was much better with great competetion like NCC. So the answer is to get rid of another great program so that someone else can win?:creepy:

Wouldnt it be a better idea to build programs to compete with Beechwood rather than eliminating another tough competetor? LCA has done it and so has Raceland. Other schools can too.

I understand and agree with your statement. NCC could have stayed in class A and none of this would have been a problem because NCC would be winning year after year. But they wanted to win the next level also.

Lets just forget about this, hope the best for Beechwood to win it for NKY and we'll discuss this after the season

  11. I understand what you are saying and as a fan of I would want them to compete on the highest level. But if you think about the number of state titles you would win, it make sense to stay in Class A. Will they win every year? More than likely LCA, Mayfield will sneak up on them once every ten years. But the other 9 will belong to Beechwood.

Agreed, I just want to see their true strength and potential
