  1. What more could I have said? I have said from the beginning of the year that this is the best Trinity team ever only to be surpassed by next years team.

Too early to say that Alan. Trinity's success and accolades can not be measured by wins over St. X this year, but rather a state title. As you and Ox and even the coach said, X was way, way down this year and didn't have the talent. Accordingly, beating X twice by an average of 42-4 isn't a good indicator this year of this Trinity team's place in history. We shall see.

  2. Unbelievable. Downgrade someone who does it the right way instead of the university way. Unbelievable. Scott Co. vs. Kentucky all-star team. If KHSAA had any jewels, wouldn't even be a discussion. Oh yea, they work harder. They sure do.........in assembling all-star teams.

I agree. Scott County basketball has assembled some all stars.

As to Coach McKee, he may get his wish in 2 weeks.

  3. It's been going on for years with Coach Glaser:

    We've got the:

    "You can't beat an All-American in 2003."

All you 8th graders come to X and we'll play you after the 2005 regular season game,

The best team didn't win state in 2005,

We "nearly won a state championship" entry in the football program,

We only lost 2 games in 2006 (rain year)

After 2007 Final loss "(Trinity) is not any better than us," he said. "They're state champions, but they're not better than us. I stand by that."

2008 best team didn't win again.

2010 regular season "loss by 48 wasn't really that bad because Trinity kept trying to score."

    and now...

"I don't think they're 35-7 better than us" and "The whole thing went the way we wanted it to go except the mistakes we made."

They used to be comical. Now they are just sad.

  4. Most opposing fans just sit on the north side of the bleachers and pack that side of the field. Not many sit on the visitor's side.

Also, if you're looking for a good place to eat before heading back to the Ville or before the game, head east on Mt. Zion and go to Buffalo Bob's.

If you are on the home side and facing the field; is the left or right side north?

  5. Great win Rocks. As we all know, it is tough to beat your rival, let alone blow them out, twice in a season.

As Coach G said in October, and then again today in the CJ, Trinity just has more talent than X. Talent with good coaching usually wins out.

To hold X to 7 points in 96 minutes is impressive. Great job d.

When Oxnard and Alan60 failed to post, I felt pretty good about the game.

    3 down, 2 to go.

  6. I just don't think the Tigers defense is good enough to stop Trinity's offense. I believe they have given up over 430 yards a game their first two playoff games. That's the big difference with this year's X squad. Their offenses has always been run, run, run but their defense was normally stout.

Trinity's kicking game has been subpar this year. Accordingly, Daylen and Lamont may score/set up a score on special teams. If so, Trinity's upper classmen and coaches will need to calm down the Greenies.

Sounds like X has totally abandonded the passing game. Stop Lamont, Daylen and Devontae and you are in the semis for the 10th out of 11th year.

  7. But I have witnessed two instances in the past two years that has me asking, what’s the cost? In last year’s regular season matchup between St. X/Manual, we watched a coach with a one score lead risk a win to drive what point home? In a kneel situation with the game on the line you make such a mistake that your own radio crew is astounded. Now this year we watch a coach call a timeout (it sounds like this point is continually being missed) in order to put up 7 more points. Again, to drive what point home and to who?

I think there is obviously bad blood between X/ T and Manual. I believe a lot of it stems from public/private positions taken. Now that all the teams are in the same district, I don't look for it to improve.

  8. T has been labeled by those that have played them this year as being much more "thug'ish" than anyone has ever seen out of the storied program. I would venture to say that most of KY will be rooting for X this Friday, and very few outside of Rock nation will be proud should this Trinity team win it all. Has Trinity sold out on some of the values that made it great in order to win even more?

What does "thug'ish" mean? Which players are you referring to?

We do agree on one thing, every 6A school in the state is hoping Trinity loses this Friday.

  9. Instant Analysis from Rivals.com - nice writeup from Senior Analyst Dallas Jackson.

The end game antics are detailed at the bottom of the page. If these details are true, and I have no reason to think they aren't, I have lost so much respect for the Trinity program, I can't even begin to tell you. What an absolute joke! There aren't enough nasty words I could use to describe Coach Beatty so I won't even try.

Up 41-13 with 30 seconds left...you take a knee, PERIOD...END OF DISCUSSION. What you DO NOT do is run a play and score a TD. And even if you decide to be classless and do that, what YOU SIMPLY CAN NOT EVER DO is run ANOTHER PLAY when the first one got called back because of a penalty and score ANOTHER MEANINGLESS TD!!!

And people wonder why there is desire to stick the privates in their own tourny? Really?

    -CardinalsFan

There are a few details you obviously don't know. Stick to Ohio CF.
