  1. East Carter starting to maybe separate themselves from everyone in the region. They have had an excellent year and are a very nice team.

Not everyone. Maybe everyone but Greenup. East is a very good team, but Greenup mercy ruled them. And in my opinion they havent really beaten any good teams. They have alot of easy games on their schedule that they should be changed for better talented teams if they want to make a run at the regional title.

  2. Anybody can have a bad nite and loose. Apparently Owen did have a chance to win from what I heard. Regardless how they would get the win...a win a win..So saying they had no chance of winning is a understatment. Errors just can kill a team in a heartbeat.

My statement was they had no chance of winning if Greenup would have hit the ball like they could and they didnt so they had a chance of winning.

  3. From what I heard Owen County should have won. Apparently to many errors that were just rouotine plays. Heard the sophomore Brody Layton pitched a good game. One of the parents said that errors plagued them all weekend. Tates Creek only beat them by 6 or 7. Who pitched that game? Who was on the mound when they played Manuel? Did any of Owen County kids have a good showing?

Owen County had no chance of winning that game if Greenup would had played to their potential by hittting the ball. They hit poorly and committed many errors, ecspecialy late ones that almost cost them the game.

  4. From the Ashalnd Daily-

    Greenup- Craft 3-3, Reed 2-3, Logan 2-3, Greenslate 2-2, Grubb 1-1, Chaffins 1-2.

The Muskies went the whole game with out striking out.

Fairview- Tyson Greene 2-3, Matt Jones and Casey Clark both contributed with first inning singles.

  5. I can say it because I saw the lack of leadership he showed in the Apollo game. Ranting about his pitchers. Throwing his equipment. Asking to be taken out when times got tough. It's easy to be a leader when things are going well. I'm sure he was tired, but how many double-headers has he caught that took a lot longer than that inning? He lost a lot of respect from his teammates that game. He may gain that back over time, but it will take a while. If you were not there, you have no clue. Ask around. If you were there, you are blind.

I believe he showed great leadership in this game. Yea, when Craft came in and gave up the lead he got a little bit frusturated, but who didnt. He was in front of home plate talking to his infielders before every pitch this game to. Also, I did not see him throwing equpiment or ranting at the pitchers.

  6. Seems to be pitching at Raceland thats been hurting them. Their pitching needs to step up for them to be a top ten team in the region. They have a couple of underclassman in Bobby McKee, Daniel Jones, Josh Reed, who are all everyday players.

  7. Lewis gets it within 2 runs in the 5th but Greenups bats got hot again. Staten went 4-4, Craft 3-4, Grubb 1-1 with a homerun, Logan 1-2, And Hieneman and Reed also added a hit. Greenslate got the W, pitching 2 innings adding 5 K's. Martin came in and had 2 good innings with Hardin following allowing 5 runs.

  8. I would have to throw in Bobby McKee, and Danial Jones from Raceland. McKee is a very athletic center fielder with a great left throwing arm. And Jones is no dought the best catcher in the 16th region behind senior Billy Logan from Greenup.

Billy Logan is only a junior.:thumb:

  9. Rose Hill 8

    West Carter 6

    shocked again.

Rose Hill will be tested Thursday Fairview and East Friday. These are two very good teams and will be very tough games for Rose Hill.

Not a RH hater either, but Elliott and West Carter are not very good teams. Give Rose Hill a little credit for beating them, but they will be considered a top ten team when they can beat a Fairview, or a Russell.
