  1. It was a great game. St Pat showed a lot of heart after being down came back to within 1 point with about a minute left in the game. This was the third game in a row for St. Patrick without any rest. Conner is a talented team with a long bench, I think about 15 to 17 girls played last night. That makes a big difference at the end of a very good game. Which team has legs left.

    Good tournament overall.

  4. They have one, it's done at the banquet with the hall-of-famers. However, for one reason or another, they don't recognize them at halftime of the championship like they do the girls.

    Thanks!

Thats why I asked because I heard the tournament team announced on the radio while at softball practice Saturday. I was just wondering why the boys don't follow the same format? Has the team been posted somewhere that everyone can access?

  5. Anytime the home team shoots more free throws anymore there is sure to be some fans questioning the officials and complaining about home cooking. Perhaps it's one team playing more physical or playing smarter. Sounds as if the Saints shot a few free throws due to technicals. You can't pick up what really happened from a box score.

    What he said:laugh:

  6. Maybe Haight from Bracken Co as well.

Saint Patrick has to take this gave as a positive. Playing the best team in the region at their place and almost coming away with a W. This is the first time in almost two or three weeks that St Patrick has had their full team together. St Patrick outrebounded a bigger team 35-28 and 13-3 on the offensive glass. Big game tonight on Senior night for St Patrick as they host Rowan Co.

Actually they were still short one player, the tallest player on the team who is averaging about 10 pts a game lately plus a lot of rebounds was home sick.

I agree this was definately a positive for the Lady Saints.

  7. Its possible that there was home court advantage, but after reading some other threads it is more likely that Fleming was a more physical team that drew more fouls. Obviously some fouls were of a nature to considered technicals so I think emotions were running high for both teams. However it looks as if St Pat used the emotion to score and not foul. I read another thread that was suggested earlier and I do believe Fleming would do whatever to win including kissing so I don't think its without reason to believe that they would be physical as well.

After reading the newspaper sounds like a "Home Court Advantage" with the foul differential. Maybe the refs got caught up in the senior nite emotion too.
  8. Thats two nights in a row the Lady Saints have been involved in the same play. Fleming had a senior with the same type issue and again great sportsmanship from both squads.

Saint Pat played a good game, was down by as much as 11 I think and came back to within 2 points in the fourth quarter. However as the box score shows Montgomery has several players that can score and add in the emotion of Senior night I would say this was a very good showing for the Lady Saints.

  9. Wow I read the other thread I have never heard anything so crazy in my life. Was that a play sent in by the coach or did the kid just take it upon himself to do that? What would the call be if the official had seen that, you have the hand check so would that be a lip check?

There is something seriously wrong with a program that would do something like this and in my opinion its across most of the sports in that system its not just boys basketball.

  10. Never saw this coming at all. Mason finally had a break out game that he is so capable of having. I think the reason is that everyone else also was playing well and Paris could not focus on just one player. Yeary had a great night handling the press which lead to some easy baskets. Lee G and Taylor Slack both had a good night and Josh had his best night as a Saint in my opinion. Great job Saints and Coach Arn.

  11. For what it's worth, Fort Knox has been really down this year in all girls' sports, and they already weren't very good (albeit somewhat competitive in volleyball last year and the year before) to begin with. It's kind of the same things that led to Fort Knox's struggles in football and the long losing streak. If you look at the Eagles' overall results, they were getting blown out by middle-of-the-road teams and losing to bad teams.

E'town is a top-10 team coming off a blowout loss to Marion County (MC and E'town are faves for the region championship), so I can understand a little bit of this, in that light of lingering anger and frustration. It's a district game, so it had to be played. It could have been anyone else; just bad timing for the Eagles and probably not personal.

From my dealings with E'town coach Tim Mudd in the past, he's always been a first-class, stand-up guy. There were no comments from him or the players for the story -- I don't think the News-Enterprise had anyone actually there -- so I'll at least withhold judgment until I hear his explanation. He generally doesn't make a habit of going overboard like this.

The final score has absolutely nothing to do with the talent of Fort Knox, rather the lack of class of Etown. I don't understand how anyone can even begin to defend this coach and his actions. I have already sent an email to the school administration and I encourge everyone who is outraged to contact them as well. I believe a the officials reads a sportsmanship statement to the players prior to the game, maybe the coach should be made to listen to the speech as well.:scared::madman::idunno::deadhorse::irked:

  12. I agree could sneak into the Region.

Congrats to Coach Arn. After being beaten by like 25 in the All A and coming to Bracken Co and getting a big win. This could be the turning point of their season.

With so many seniors on the team it has taken a while for everyone to get on the same page with a new coach. I think if everyone listens to Coach Arn and follows the direction he has set they can end the season very very strong.

And anytime you go to Bracken and come away with a win it is always big. Even the freshman girls squeaked out a win at Bracken last night.
