Maybe it's not always a negative impact, let's give credit to the Conner program. In 2008, they won the 9th region despite having lost one player to Boone, one to ND and 2 to Highlands. Sometimes, team chemistry and several very talented individuals can be better than one star or too many stars.

I heard they only have 11 girls combined for JV/Varsity. Can anyone confirm? How can that be with a school that size? Doesn't seem like enough when you factor in injuries, etc.... they could always bring up Freshman for numbers but it seems like a better idea when it's for talent reason.

....and to Conner, Simon Kenton, Cov Cath, Beechwood, etc. My compliments to the the BC peewee system, I just think that all of the Boone Co. District high schools would improve with a middle school system, only taking the Sr. division from the PeeWee league.

Could this be a result of no middle school football teams in Boone Co.? Campbell Co is supported by the Red Devils system, right?

The point I have made is that the BCPWFL has talented players every year. This feeds (4) HS. You do not make a decision to play at the small school level, knowing that incoming freshman can arrive with a very talented group. Yes, it is unknown in Feb., but the % is high they will have talented players arriving. The small school decision was the 'easy' choice. It should not have been made. All incoming freshman at the Boone Cty. HS's are equal. The upper level program success does not impact the Freshman.

How can they look at last year's incoming freshman and believe the same would happen again. They draw from the Boone Cty. PeeWee league, and the talent from that league feeds all the Boone Cty. HS. Incoming freshman all have the same advantage when arriving. What took place the prior year, or from the classes above them does not mean anything to the 'NEW' incoming freshman class. They start anew! Nothing prior impacts their success. The small school division was a place to hide for another year or so.

Is it certain students or certain coaches who have the inside track? Seems to me Nell gets more than her fair share of transfers.

How often are the school enrollment records reviewed for reclassification? Seems to me, it should be reviewed every year.

Clyde, glad you brought that up....why does a 6A schedule a 2A? Granted they have a tough schedule ahead of them, but I don't think this helps prepare them for the district games that really count!

I predict Scott wins. Cooper may feel good when playing Shawnee, but Scott is more talented. It will be Scott 13 - Cooper 6.
